Ithilwen threw her cloak over her shoulders and excitedly asked her brother,"When are we leaving?" Legolas laughed, amused. "Well, I suppose you're ready so we'll be off soon," was his reply. "Come, follow me." Ithilwen followed her brother eagerly outside, and they were off to find some dwarves.

Eldaria and Nostariel arrived in Mirkwood late the next week. They were tired but glad the be there."Where are Legolas and Ithilwen?" They asked Thranduil. At his answer, they bowed and hurried back outside to find their friends.

Ithilwen and Legolas were stuck in the forest, looking around, when they heard voices. "I want to sleep!" a voice wailed. It was dark but with her keen elf-eyes she could see many shadows. Someone tapped her on the shoulder. It was another elf. "We got one last night," the elf whispered to her brother. Legolas nodded and said,"Good. How many are they, Legomir?" "Fourteen, I think," was Legomir's reply. The other elf walked away and the siblings approached the group of dwarves. "Legolas. One of them isn't a dwarf," Ithilwen exclaimed.

Aralas heard someone call her name. She turned around, startled. Nostariel and Eldaria were there. "Shush! We're trying to see what they're doing here. We can't let them know we're here," she said.

Ithilwen jumped out and yelled for the other elf patrol to stop. She was the daughter of Thranduil, so they all listened. She turned to one of the dwarves who looked more like an elf. He seemed less stern and more friendly than the rest. "What are you doing here?" she asked, but there was no hatred or anger in her voice. She sounded curious and a bit friendly. She gestured for the other elves to leave, and they did.

The dwarves still refused to speak. "Oh come on seriously?" Nostariel exclaimed, popping up out of the blue and causing some of the dwarves to jump and curse. But no one said a word. Ithilwen, Nostariel, Eldaria, and Legolas continued their steady glare and finally one dwarf began to speak....
