You can't fight fire with fire. It will only bring bad things. You HAVE to understand!" she said. She sank back down in her chair, not knowing where this came from. "She's right. You cannot wield it. None of us can. The RIng answers to Sauron alone. It has no other Master!" Aragorn said. "And what, would a Ranger know of this matter?" Boromir said, unbelieving. Legolas shook his head and stood up. "This is no mere ranger. He is Aragorn, son of Arathorn. You owe him your allegiance."

Gimli rolled his eyes and stood up. "Well, what are we waiting for?" He raised his axe, and Aralas opened her mouth to say something but she was too late. Gimli's axe went down and shattered. He fell back on the ground, startled. "The Ring cannot be destroyed, Gimli, son of Gloin, by any craft we here possess," Elrond said, and Aralas thought, 'So that's the dwarf's name!' because it was the very same dwarf that was sitting beside Legolas last night. "The Ring was made in the fires of Mount Doom. Only there can it be unmade. It must be taken deep into Mordor and cast back into the fiery chasm from whence it came. One of you... must do this." All was silent, when once more Boromir opened his mouth. Anariel took a deep breath, bracing herself for what her cousin would say. "One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just Orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep and the great eye is ever watchful. 'Tis a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume. Not with ten thousand men could you do this. It is folly." Legolas couldn't contain himself any longer. "Have you heard nothing Lord Elrond has said? The Ring MUST BE DESTROYED!" "And I suppose you think you're the one to do it!" Gimli said, furious. "And if we fail, what then? What happens when Sauron takes back what is his?" Boromir countered, standing up. Anariel tried to resist the urge to get her cousin down. "I will die before I see the Ring in the hands of an elf!" Gimli growled, "Never trust an elf!" At that, Aralas stood up, filled with anger and hatred for the dwarf. What did he know about elves? All the elves stood, backing her brother up. The men present joined the argument, and Gandalf shook his head. "Do you not understand that while we bicker amongst ourselves, Sauron's power grows? None can escape it! You'll all be destroyed!" Aralas and Anariel started to go to their seats and get out the argument, but then a small voice started yelling. "I will take the Ring!" Everyone turned around.
