There were many things the peoples of Dale and Rohan shared in their mingled ancestry including an innate fear of the eldritch. The Rohirrim had given those who practised it a name: dwimmerlaïk. And their memories were stained by the treachery of one of its most prominent - Saruman the White. This was why the people of Dale had been wary of the Greenwood Elves...and as for Freja, well she had witnessed and borne the brunt of Saruman's treachery in Meduseld, the Eastfold and the first battle of the Fords of Isen. Indeed, this suspicion stemmed right back to the roots of the Edain...for only three Houses of Men had ventured so far as to befriend the Eldar.

As Lyiana began to glow, Videgavia recoiled in instinctive fear...and this was not a man who knew how to deal with such things as fear save through anger. Yet, as his fists curled and his lean body tensed to spring at the healer something remarkable occurred.

Freja drew a shaking, trembling breath.

It was not strong nor deep but she was breathing. And she took another, this one a little deeper and longer and then another before her spine arched. A strangled, hoarse exclamation burst from Videgavia as he reached to steady Freja.

"No more," he panted as he felt her body thrum in his hands, vibrating like a leaf in the storm of power Lyiana had released.

"Please," the Daleman added, "I beg of you, stop!"

He could not be certain the healer heard him but Freja's rigid, quivering body sagged and Lyiana fell back to sit over her heels. Freja was breathing and though he could not be certain, each breath was stronger. More certain. Her eyes rolled and her head tossed but then she was quiet and still. Resting. Sleeping. Videgavia pressed a hand to her cheek, some of it washed clean from the water he had given her before but most of it still coated in grime. Colour was returning to her. The ghastly blue tint of her lips had faded and when the healer pressed two fingers to her throat she found a steady, stable, strong pulse...perhaps a little rapid, but to be expected given what had just transpired.

As she withdrew her hand, Videgavia looked up at the healer. His eyes were dark as the night and often described as cold for good reason but just now they were not. He looked to Lyiana, wondering, hesitant and above all grateful.

"I do not know who you are," he said in a shaking voice, "But know this: the people of Rohan lie in your debt this night."

Lyiana hardly knew what she had done to warrant the debt of Rohan; all she had done was use the skills she had learned from her teachers and the love she had of helping others. As she stared into this mans' eyes, she could tell that he was truly relieved, but shocked as well.
She knew that many people did not agree with or like the teachings of magic, for they saw all of it as evil. But it was not....she would never use her skills for ill intent...only for good. It was her calling, and if using it meant that she would save a life yet be scolded or punished, then so be it.
But this man was not punishing or reprimanding her, so she dipped her head and quickly tended to wrapping the shieldmaidens' other wounds, hoping to hide the blush that rose to her cheeks.

Malvagil gathered his rangers, and they agreed to get everyone on a horse. Two of them went to gather what they could to make a couple travois to carry Freja and Mariel. They worked into the night, and Malvagil called everyone together.

"Ye people, hear me! This inn is utterly destroyed. Two lives have been lost. Two others are missing. There are reports from some of you that two women and a man fled west toward Bree. Since there is no place to sleep and no food here, we will escort you Bree through the night, and we should get there in the morning sometime. We will travel together as we wil have to be formally questioned about the fire at the inn. Once there, you will be given accommodations at one of its inns for the day and night paid for by the crown. Once your testimony is given and recorded, you will be free to go."

There was grumbling and nods, but soon everyone was ready. Miriel and Freja were laid out on cloaks tied between two small logs and everyone else was either on their own horse or doubled up. Fahalas rode the horse that carried his wife, and Videgavia rode the horse that carried Freja. Kayden and Lysana rode together close to the two with the travois, and Malvagil stayed close to them. The other rangers rode ahead and behind keeping watch. Those who had fled could be lurking...

As the smoke still rose from the inn, if one happend to be atching it, a slight blue glow could be seen coming from a mostly burned window. It flickerd, and soon was dark. Th Inn By The Side Of The Road was no more.

OOC - Since the inn has indeed burned down, this thread has come to an end.
If anyone has a story they wish to tell with their characters,
I highly encourage you to start and continue the tale in a new thread.
Love each and every one of you writers, and thank you for partaking in this.

Hello, it seems to me that of all the cleaning equipment, a professional steam cleaner is the most effective. It will allow you to get your house shiny and clean in half the time. In general, steam from a steam cleaner is good for grease or food stains in the kitchen, as well as mold and mildew in the bathroom and toilet (by the way I use steam mop to clean shower) It also quickly removes light stains from soft furniture, refreshes textiles and leaves of houseplants, as well as disinfects children's toys.
