"Aye, that I am," Sirithadar replied. He adjusted his sword belt, then continued on.
The army was finally fully on the move, so Sirithadar headed up towards the front of it, towards where his men would be.

I'll leave it up to you if you want to go up with him, Rhavaniel.

Melannen was marching at the head of the army. He glanced around, checkingto see whether the other commanders were in the vanguard with him, or elsewhere in the army.

Rhavaniel shook her head, and stepped in front of him "I'll be up front. Scouting,"she raised an eyebrow"but I'll remember to come back if something is wrong." she ended bitterly and brushed past to where another elf was holding her black stallion. She climbed onto its back and touched the reins slightly, letting the horse trot forward.

When Sirithadar reached the front, where his men were, he noticed Melannen looking around. Walking forward briskly, he figured that the commander was looking for the other captains. "My lord Melannen - Haldir is leading his group on the right flank. The dwarves are in the back - I'm afraid I do not know where their commander is," he said, ending in an apologetic tone.

Rhavaniel urged her horse past the troops and up to the front where she settled next to her friend Melethor. They grinned at each other, and shook hands waiting for the signal to head off.

"Thank you Sirithadar, and Deawen and her command are on the left flank. (assuming Deawen is still here) We're going to go straight up the river valley. Its the easiest way to the gates of moria" He walked on for a short while and then spoke softly to himself "Time to send the scouts off". He gave the signal for the scouts to move out, knowing they would head straight back if they found anything.

The sound of hooves echoed across the ground, shaking toward the groups ears as a snowy steed charged through the parting sea of troops.
Upon it sat a young elven boy, his bright, almond-shaped eyes identifying the leader of the group who stood before him.

"Rainion Vanquesse, first scout."

At that quick introduction, he issued a bow, pulling back a helm to let dark hair fall in curls about his shoulders. Sharply pointed ears protruded from between soft, unkempt ringlets and a pair of sky-coloured eyes turned toward Melannen's, the lines upon his brow betraying his fatigue.

"Sire, the night is drawing in quickly..faster than we had anticipated, that..and the troops need to stop. The horses are tired, and we will need to go off our course to seek shelter if we are to rest."

He brought up a singly gloved hand, running it roughly through his hair to retrieve it back from a rather weary expression

"You must decide what to do next, sire...whether we are to continue onward and rest tomorrow, or to veer away now..."
