"I can sing a lovely song about the trees..." Adam smirked as he raised his hand, and with the flick of his wrist a shower of maple leaves fell down upon them, but almost in slow motion as if the very leaves were suspended in time.

"Then let us hear you sing," teased Kelena lightly, watching as the leaves floated above them. She smiled to herself and with a silent command, she looked on in affection as the aforementioned leaves were sent spinning wildly among her friends by the wind.

"WE are the Trees.
Our dark and leafy glade
Bands the bright earth with softer mysteries.
Beneath us changed and tamed the seasons run:
In burning zones, we build against the sun
Long centuries of shade.

We are the Trees,
Who grow for man’s desire,
Heat in our faithful hearts, and fruits that please.
Dwelling beneath our tents, he lightly gains
The few sufficiencies his life attains—
Shelter, and food, and fire.

We are the Trees
That by great waters stand,
By rills that murmur to our murmuring bees.
And where, in tracts all desolate and waste,
The palm-foot stays, man follows on, to taste
Springs in the desert sand.

We are the Trees
Who travel where he goes
Over the vast, inhuman, wandering seas.
His tutors we, in that adventure brave—
He launched with us upon the untried wave,
And now its mastery knows.

We are the Trees
Who bear him company
In life and death. His happy sylvan ease
He wins through us; through us, his cities spread
That like a forest guard his unfenced head
’Gainst storm and bitter sky.

We are the Trees.
On us the dying rest
Their strange, sad eyes, in farewell messages.
And we, his comrades still, since earth began,
Wave mournful boughs above the grave of man,
And coffin his cold breast. " Adam sang simply as Kelena used her own powers to move the leaves around them in elegant swirls... it was a surreal moment and he thought it was the perfect way to begin their mission.

Tyren stared in delight at the leaves swirling above him. The forest sat in silence for a moment after the song ended, as if all the creatures, too, were entranced. But Tyren was not one to be silent for long. Clapping and grinning, he expressed his enthusiasm.

"Bravo! Excellent! I especially like the part about the great waters." Ren winked at the others, then turned to Stihl. "Moi? Annoying? How could you think such a thing?" He put his hand to his head in mock agony. "I am as delightful as a songbird. Minus the singing." Tyren looked around, attempting to find the fire mage. "I guess he's not going to be doing anything about this fire. Alrighty then." Rubbing his hands briskly, Tyren knelt by the heap of ashes and attempted to start them glowing. Unfortunately, all that he could manage was a trickle of smoke.

Kelena listened to Adam's song in silence and wondered at his voice. It was so soothing and reassuring yet invoked such lively emotions within. When it was finished, she smiled at him and said, "Ren is right. That was amazing." She heard Tyren's words and laughed, watching as he attempted re-light the fire. Not trusting herself with the wind and there being no sparks either way, she didn't help him, but watched him try in amusement.

I have returned! I am so sorry I disappeared - I am surprised this RPG has not slipped into the deep abyss! If anyone would like to contiune, I would be more than happy to. Or, if you'd rather I revamp and reopen, I am willing to do that as well. Just let me know.

Huzzah! I'd like to continue, it's going pretty swell, but unless anyone else wants to restart I have no problem. :)

((Awesome! I am glad everyone has the want to revive! I am simply going to continue from where we left off - if you all could please go back and reread what has already happened to refamiliarize yourself, I would greatly be appreciative - I do so as well, and it does not take long at all. :)))

Draykan Dewitt-Kissaktur, the mage of fire, had slipped away from the group as the rain had just began to fall, and he had no knowledge of their request for fire - he was simply glad that they had the chance to be happy and joyous before they had to face what lie before them.

This journey will be full of sorrow and peril - I foresaw it...You will be forced to make many decisions in which you do not want to make, and you will become hated for it. Draykan, you might also be forced to...

Elam's words replayed over and over in Draykan's mind as he slipped into the basement of the cottage, collecting herbs and simple healing leaves and mixtures mindlessly. Yet, he would not replay the last, most grave point that Elam told him, and the only thing he did not mention to the group - he had to keep it to himself, even attempt to keep it from his mind. He had to keep it tucked away in the darkest depths in his soul, only to be revealed if it truly needed to be, when the time was right.

I hope that moment never comes. He told himself aimlessly as he packed the herbs and potions away in a small bag, placing it on the table after he finished.

His black hair flew over his eyes as the gray clouds grew darker overhead, and the light that came through the cracks from the door above faded away slowly. Instantly, the rooms torches, - 7 in number, encircling the wall with exact, equal measurements inbetween each one, - was lit with flame, and the room became a soft glow against the stony walls. Draykan sighed heavily and sat against the wall, allowing the cold stone to press against his exposed neck and bare arms. He shuddered slightly at the chill, and his body instantly became warm, his veins filling themselves with the warmth caused by the Element that lived and breathed within him.

He sighed heavily, his chest barely rising from the action. His eyes scanned the room, getting a good look at it for the last time. After a moment of thought, Draykan decided that if this was going to be his last night in such a familiar place - his home -, he was going to spend it in peace. He concentrated for a moment and called upon his inner flame to keep him warm, for in the earliest hours of the night until the mornings dawn, he knew how cold the cellar of the cottage could get. Then, after a moment of allowing himself to trace the track of flame as it started from his toes all the way to his face in a matter of minutes, feeling the flames burn inside him, Draykan shut his eyes and let sleep take him, finally ready to take on the new day, and the journey that he was fated to have - even though he did not realize this.

Tyren continued to work diligently at the fire until a small spark finally appeared. Quickly and carefully he brought about a small blaze. A short time later, a nice fire crackled on the ground while the day turned to dusk. He sat and stared into the dancing depths, mulling over the events of the day. Eventually, as stars began to peep out at him, he climbed up the tree and lay down, allowing sleep and dreams to take over.

Kelena stood silently to the side, lost in her own thoughts, wondering about the days ahead. She faintly noticed Drakyan's departure and her eyes distantly observed Tyren's feebled attempts to relight the fire. Sighing softly as dark slowly crept in, she followed their lead and headed back to the cottage. She didn't feel any bit tired, more anxious with Drakyan's words running through her mind. Shaking her head to clear it, Kelena slipped between the comfort of her blankets...perhaps for the last time. After a few minutes of restless turning with muttered oaths, she quickly slipped into a dark slumber.

The cave was much too dark - so dark, the light coming from my fingertips from the flames that caressed my left hand barely gave enough me enough light to see the feet which carried me through my sucide mission. The cave was roughly damp, the waters clear wetness shimmering off the smooth caverns walls whenever I shined the flame upon it. Not only was the cave damp, but it was also cold - I failed too notice, even as my friends followed me, shivering.

My mind was preoccupied. We had come so close, each of us with a small crystal hanging around our hearts. It was so small that I could engulf the entire thing in the palm of my hand - yet, it felt like it weighed more than myself, pulling me down to the ground in which I could so soon, with one simple action, be buried under.

Unless my body burned itself instead.

"If you all die, you will die by the means in which the element you possess - engulfed by fire from the inside out, choking on non-exsistant water..."

Elam's words sank into my head once more, and I surpressed a shudder. I pressed on, turning the corner, going deeper into the unknown place that held my fate, along with the fate of my closest companions. Along with her fate....I shuddered again, and hated myself for doing so. As I finally rounded the corner, bright light covered my eyes, and I could hear screams of surprise and agony - they were already here. They had been waiting for us. I was blinded by light, and slowly slipping into darkness, silioquetes (sp?) of people slipping by. I felt myself hit the ground, falling to my knees and pain erupted from them, shocking through my body.

Then, I felt myself grow warmer. It was natural for me to be warmer than the average person, or even the Average Element mage, but not this warm - never this warm. The heat contiuned to increase as I began to sweat, and the fire in my hand went out. Just as pain, - more pain than I had ever felt before, - erupted and spread from my body, causing my face to be streaked by bloody tears and my body to double over like a sick child, I saw him.

I saw his pale face, his blond hair, his light colored eyes.

I saw him.

I saw him smile and begin to play with some fire on his right hand, his smirk turning into a massive grin...

...I saw him as I died in flames.

"Arrrrrragggggggghhhhh!" Draykan screamed, jumped up from his leaned position against the stone wall. Sweat dripped down his forehead and back as his tried to slow his breathing, his hand clutching to his heavy-heaving chest.

"Just a dream..." He muttered effortlessly, his heart rate slowing down ever so slightly as his eyes came into focus. "Just a dream....only a dream." He told himself as he finally calmed down.

"Not a dream; a nightmare." He decided, but as he whipsered this, a voice inside his head also whispered,

Your future, brother.

((I apologize for the length of this post!!))
