Lou woke up to the horses neighing for their food. She rolled out of bed at a very early 7:00 in the morning she put on some jeans and an old t-shirt to help her sister with the chores

Amy led Angel out of her stall. Angel was a slender Quarter horse with a faded star on her head. She was very young, and very skittish. She led her into the round pen
Amy unclipped the lunge line and swished it gently at the mare, asking her to move away and move on the rail. Angel's graceful legs seemed to float in thin air as she trotted. Amy noticed her intelligent head. Her eyes were far apart, her wide forehead hidden underneath her glossy black forelock. Her neck was muscled and her conformation was acceptable. She would make a great jumper, Amy thougt. Amy was attempting to join up with Angel, a technique she used before working with any of the new horses. She watched Angel for the signal, her shoulders square and her eyes set on the mare. Gradually, Angel's ear was pricked and turned towards Amy. She gently lowered her head. Amy saw her mouth open and close as if she were chewing. Quickly, Amy lowered her eyes and turned her shoulders away. This was it. She was about t gain Angel's trust.
Amy held her breath. A few seconds later, hooves padded up to Amy. She felt warm breath on the back of her neck. Slowly, Amy kept her eyes down and stroked the mare's face. She knew if she looked the mare in the eyes, it was intimidating. Only preadators look them straight in the eye.
Amy walked around the round pen. It seemed as if an invisible thread connected Angel to Amy, therefore making Angel follw at Amy's shoulder as she was doing. Amy grinned and led the mare out. Today, she was going to take Angel on trail and cure her fears.

Lou had a horse she was training named Grace. She was a gorgeous blue roan mare and needed a little help from Lou to get her beack on the right track with a rider on her back and he needed to change her attitude. She didn't let people groom her and she would throw ANYONE off that rode her with their legs. The second you got on h er and kicked her or even nudged her she went bazeerk. Lou thought there was something wrong with her and had her checked out by a vet, but the vet didn't find anything. She was a wild mustang and probably didn't want anyone touching her.

Lou went to get put her halter on and the horse tried to bit her really hard. Lou punched the horse on the neck because this is where their mothers hit them. She looked her straight in the eye and punched her. To horses when you look them straight in the eye they think you are the predator. She stopped for the time being and Lou led her out to the lunge arena with a saddle on her back.
