Luke kicked a loose tile with the edge of his tennis shoe, and made faces behind the backs of the conversing group. Probably talking about Anna. She had always been a popular girl, more than likely they missed her.
He stuck his head in admidst the group suddenly, trying to eavesdrop better. "What, what?" he queried... cocking his head a bit to the side.

Shade sat on a alley street corner, up on a stair railing. He sighed as he looked around, some people staring at him weirdly and others looking at him with fear. He turned away from them and thought of his friend, who just left for the country. He missed her already.
