(Feel free to join this roleplay. But a few rules first.
1. Try to keep this realistic, no magic, or other stuff.
2. You mustn't be offended by "God" in here since I am trying to keep this as the Crusaders would act, "religious."
3. I would prefer to keep to the actual roleplay, so please no wondering off topic or such. )
Thank you! and please join!! I just dont want this to get out of hand. Feel free to create your own characters as long as they are real. "meaning no magic once again. (normal human beings. lol )

A roleplay about the First Crusade:
In the year of Our Lord 1095 his Holiness, Pope Urban II called upon the men of Europe to take up arms under one unique banner. The Cross of Christ. Urban rallied the men on a mission of great importance. To deal with the Muslim threat in the Middle East. The Muslims had taken over the Holy Land, desecrating the Holy Places, attacking and robbing the pilgrims who traveled to pay homage to these holy locations. With great chorus the Crusaders shouted out their famous battle cry: "God Wills It!!!!" They now have set out to reclaim the lands surrounding the Holy Land and the Holy City of Jerusalem....in the name of God.

(Name: Macar de Tier
Age: 25
Sex: Male
Height: 6 ft. tall
Arms: Long sword, and a small battle axe.
Armourment: Steel heltmet fit with eye protection, chain mail suit extending over the arms and down to the waist. He wears a tunic which bears the mark of the Crusade. It is off and off white color, close to a fainted yellow. With a red cross on his right breast. He rides a horse which he recently purchessed from a farmer.)
Macar slowly guides his horse along a dirt path through a dried ravine. He walks cautiously amid the crumbling rock, seeking passage to the Holy Land, desiring to join up with the army which has already marched thus. Guiding the reigns of the horse, he lifts one hand to cover his eyes from the sunlight. :At last!" he exclaims uncounsiously to himself as he sights a cloud of dust in the distance, "God be praised!" Macar then started off towards the rising cloud of dust slowly, not wanting to tire the horse which bore his belongings. The sun beat down unbearibly upon him, the armor starting to weigh down heavily upon his body.

History:
Born in London, grew up in Hampfordshire and Hattersfield. Her father took to drinking after the murder of his wife, the much hoped for Elizabeth 'Queen of England', and never really understood that he had two twin daughters, and not a son. (Her sister ran away to live with her husband at an early age, whereas her sister Cat- as she is commonly known- stayed, and was treated as a squire by her father and so learnt swordsmanship, and became the best Archer in the land. Her father Alexos, suddenly disappeared, and was presomed dead by the realm, though his daughter never gave up hope of finding him. She travelled to Damaskus, where she met Godfrey of Ibelin, a close friend of her fathers, who took good care of her for the time she allowd it, and her half brother the Sultan Salahadin. Upon not finding her father, she left the road of the knight that her father had bestowed on her, and spent time becoming a great sailor, and eventually a pirate of the Mediterainean. The fact that she was a woman never halted her, as she was gifted in looks and mind, and even today can twist men around her finger and give them false hopes, whereas her heart stays true to a secret lover.
______________________________________________________________________
Cat reigned her horse with her free hand, and looked back to her knights Arkantus and Thesus. The could see the army up ahead, even though the sun burnt down cruely on their backs, protected only by light linen shirts.
The two men held spears, their armour strapped to the sides of their horses, the woman had a long bow slung over her shoulder, her white skin covered by an additional cloak that billowed out behind her.

Macar walked on over the dried desert, the ground dried by the seemingly endless hours of sunlight and heat. Lifting his head slowly, he noticed Lady Caterina in the distance with the two knights. He turned the horse towards them. Increasing the pace of his walking, Macar soon came upon them. "Greetings fellow travelers!" he shouted gleefully from his parched throat. "Do you seek passage to the Holy Land for the same reason as I? The great quest appointed upon us by his Holiness?" Macar nodded his head to Caterina in acknowledgement.

Dear Roleplayers,
We appreciate your desire to roleplay in a historic nature, however this roleplay in particular is against the rules of A-U. We're sorry but due to the religious nature of your rp, this thread will be locked. If you need to review the rules, you may find them here: http://www.arwen-undomiel.com/forum/rules.php
Specifically we cannot allow this roleplay because of these rules:
Respect your fellow members
Above all other rules, this contributes to maintaining the pleasant atmosphere of the forum. - which also includes no bashing, Muslim members of the forum may find your "Muslim threat" comments very offensive, even though you may not intend them that way
NO religion
No discussions relating to religion and no bashing or arguing over merits of theological ideologies are tolerated. To mention one's religion in passing, e.g. in one's signature, is acceptable as long as it does not put down other religions or spark ANY debate. If you wish to express pleasure at discovering someone who has the same religious beliefs as you, or if you have something you wish people to pray about (and so on), please do so through private messages.
Your quotes "2. You mustn't be offended by "God" in here since I am trying to keep this as the Crusaders would act, "religious." Annoyed " and "The Cross of Christ. Urban rallied the men on a mission of great importance. To deal with the Muslim threat in the Middle East. The Muslims had taken over the Holy Land, desecrating the Holy Places," Are extremely religious and also borderline bashing of someone else's beliefs. We mods are not trying to upset you or offend you by closing this roleplay but it is simply against the rules of this site. Please, feel free to rp in other means or join in other ongoing roleplays and let us know if you have questions. Thank you.
Your A-U Mod Team
