Ardra glared back, and one of the cats let out a hiss. She didn't answer for a second. "Nothing. It was them," she said, feeling slightly guilty about blaming the cats. They stared up at Dez with wide blinking eyes, looking rather innocent.

Maiara and Ahanu continued moving quietly through the forest. Now other sounds were coming to Ahanu's keen ears, and he passed them on to Maiara.

Suddenly Ahanu pulled up shortly and arched his back slightly. The large mountain lion let out a soft but menacing growl. A dapplegray mare could be seen trotting in their direction. Ahanu growled again, and Maiara knew what he was thinking.

"Ah, ah, my friend," she whispered, "I don't think so. Not yet at least." Although he looked none too happy about it, the mountain lion drew back.

Maiara walked ahead, and then she saw a teenaged girl with two other horses. She raised her eyebrows. This group must have been who Ahanu had sensed back in the clearing.

"Hello," she said to the girl. She didn't say anything else, as it was characteristic for her to usually be quiet. Though she did study the girl, assessing her with her perceptive green eyes.

Rialyn yawned and tilted her head, much like an owl, as she heard the fuss quiet down. I'm coming Fallon she said telepathically before heading towards the way the animal's connection to her came from.

Meanwhile, Fallon the owl perched on a branch above the owners of the hawk and kestrels. She fluffed her snowy white feathers and her yellow eyes glared at the hawk. Savagely, she hooted and clacked her beak.

Promet gripped his katana tightly as he watched the bounty hunter charge at him. He rolled to the side at the last minute and dragged the bounty hunter of his horse. But the hunter was well trained in combat and he got to his feet quickly. The two humans circled each other. Similarly the hunter's jackal eyed at Methus who glared back.

(Could one of you guys come at this scene or something like that?)

Dez huffed in anger, and without any warning, drew back and punched Ardra square in the jaw with all the force she could muster. As the girl staggered back, she whirled about on her feet, with her back to Ardra now. Her jaw was still set in a stubborn manner.

"Leave my hawk and I be."

She strode off, shooting an angry glance at Rialyn for no particular reason.

Snowfire paused when she heard a growl, and galloped back to Annalett, who watched the approaching mountain lion with a keen eye. Fuin huffed, and kept all sences pointed at the mountain lion.
"Hello," Annalett replied to Maiara, as Granit came beside her. Annalett put a hand on the buckskin mare's withers, and her other hand went to the hilt of her sword, which happened to have carvings of horses on it...

Maiara smiled casually at the girl. "There's no need for that," she said, gesturing nonchalantly to the sword the girl was gripping. She flipped back her cloak to reveal the dagger she kept at her belt. "Here is my weapon, but I do not plan on drawing it unless I am given reason to." Ahanu let out a growl, angry at being left out. "Oh and him," she continued, flashing the big lion a look, "This is Ahanu. I'll keep him at bay."

She paused for a moment, studying the girl again. She hoped she had put her somewhat at ease. As much fun as it was to intimidate people, she wasn't in the mood for that today. She was feeling rather... sociable. Odd, that. "I am Maiara, by the way," she continued, "Ahanu and I were lounging in a clearing a little ways back when we sensed your presence."

Annalett took her hand off her sword, and nodded to Maiara.
"I'm Annalett, and this is Granit, Snowfire, and Fuin... my herd," she said, pointing to each one as she said their names.
"And it seems my presence has been felt by more than just you. A man with a cobra as a companion just left..."

Kith saw the Cobra man slink off. He was the most interesting of them all. He thought to himself, and to Bane. He had nothing to do today. As the others talked below he made his way through the upper canopy pathway, Bane at his heels. They followed Cobra man until he stopped and unsheathed his blade. The ring of cold metal brought shivers to Kith's spine. He senced somthing was about to happen, and he was right. A bounty hunter with a jackle charged Cobra man. Cobra man lashed out and tore the man from his horse. This was a fight! Bane growled in displeasureCobra man was much more interesting then Bounty hunter. Bane's glrowl softened, then all at once intensified to a battle roar. He jumped to the ground onto the jackle in the same way a panther would hunt prey. A bite to the back of the scull was all it would take to end this creatures life, and he delivered.

Promet was continuing his deadly circling around the bounty hunter when he suddenly gave out a sharp yell and fell on the ground, dead. He turned to see a panther with his teeth around the jackal's neck. Not sure what he was doing here, he thanked the panther and then wondered where his human counterpart was. Methus hissed her gratitude and slithered to Promet's hand.

Kith jumped down from the tree, his landing being only a slight bit less graceful then Bane's. Kith stared at the Cobra man. "I don't like bounty hunters very much" was all the reason he gave, and since this man was being hunted by one, it was probably all the reason he needed to give.

"Neither have I," agreed Promet. He nudged his foot at the body of one of the bounty hunter. "You have my thanks, Mr..."
