"I...." Lucy gasped...."I..." Her head twisted to the broken window and then back at Edward. She knew her mother would never allow her to visit him again....not after everything that had been brought upon the family...

Covering her mouth and tears filling her large brown eyes, all Lucy could do was nod sadly.

Edward looked up at Lucy, eyes full of confusion. "Don't leave. . ." he said in a quiet whisper, voice quivering, fearing what the girl would do, or say next.

Lucy wouldn't be able to contain herself for much longer. She felt sorry for the skinny lonely figure before her. How could she even say good-bye? It would break his heart....

Walking closer to Edward, she took her hand away from her mouth and stammered, "I....I have....t-t-to..." Edward's face became blurry as tears floated in her eyes.

Hearing another loud crack of thunder, made Lucy jump and the tears then came rolling down her soft cheeks.

Silence, then the thunderous role of lightning piercing through the skies.

Edward didn't know what it was or what it meant to plea. Therefore, he did not. He remained lifeless in the mantle, his shoulders sagging and eyes urbanely surveying the cracked tiled floor.

Although Edward knew—and he had seen—that Lucy had been a wonderful friend to him, and now, he couldn’t imagine her ever seeing him again. A queasiness gripped him deep in the pit of his stomach, and a faint frisson of sadness pitter-pattered over him, as he forced himself to swallow the fact that Lucy would one day forget about him.

Kneeling in front of Edward, she wrapped her hands around one of his legs tightly, and cried softly. Her eyes gazed on his face and as the time passed, she began to memorize every scar and every detail of him. She never wanted to forget.....she never wanted to leave....

"Sorry......" she stammered out of her jittering lips.

Standing, she sat next to him on his small hay-like bed and hugged him with all the love that she could offer. Burying her face into his chest, she sobbed and savored the moment with every inch of strength. Never wanting to let go, she lifted her face to his and gently kissed him on the cheek. "I love you," she said with a whimpering whisper.

The warmth of his little flower wrapped around his cold, fragile body of weakness. Listening to the rain that pitter-pattered into the attic, Edward's chest breathed gingerly.

The smell of cookies and ice still lingered around the mechanical boy's frame, and his plastic hair still felt the same, rough and stiff. The leather beneath squeaked and the belt buckles froze Lucy's skin.

A pit of pain stirred inside. A tired, worn out pain that was eating the once, beautiful sparkle out of the young man named Edward. Before, those who looked in his face, only saw a monster underneath the facade. But now, the child hugging him couldn’t see any monsters. Edward wasn’t. He was her friend.

Ed wanted to stay there forever with Lucy, but sadly, he felt the little flower pull away from his cold, stiff arms.

Sniffing, Lucy released and kept her eyes to the floor. Standing to her feet, she felt weak, as if she would collaspe from it all. Reaching the way to the concrete stairs that led back down to the entrance of the mansion, Lucy turned and looked once more at Edward. Seeing his pitiful, innocent eyes.....pale numb hands.....skinny helpless form.....made her run down the stairs at all speed to escape from the pain she felt deep in her chest and the burning lump in her throat.

She shed her tears, until she had exited out of the large metal door to the mansion. Finally, once she was out in the green courtyard, she wiped her eyes and breathed in deeply, filling her nose with the fresh smell of the living plant life surrounding her.

Feeling the rain hit her skin and hair, forced her to look up at the dark sky...and also, toward Edward's window near the attic.

Katherine had the car started up when Lucy came outside. She took a deep breath and watched her little girl. She bit her lower lip and then got out of the car. She walked over to her and then kneeled beside her to hug her tightly. She didn't want Lucy to feel sad, but Edward just didn't want to be at home with them anymore. "Luc... I promise you that you can come here and visit Edward every Friday after school." She told her softly.

Desperately wanting to receive her mother's offer, Lucy forced herself to shake her head in denial. There was no possible way Lucy could see Edward, unless in secret....which was impossible. The town of Suberbia had grown to hate him in the past, and the news media would be all over him...especially with his new hands.

She would not bring that upon Edward again. She had made up her mind. "No, mom. Edward needs to live alone....he's been through so much....no..." she said fighting back more tears.

Holding her mom's hand, she said, "Let's go home, please."

A leather-clad figure watched a small speck of a girl and her mother glide along below him. His pale plastic pink lips rested gently on his scarred face and he listened to the sounds of whimpers that came up from the courtyard.

Waking up from his memories, Edward sighed very softly and quietly. He missed seeing Kim-and, now, he realized, he had forgotten what she looked like. All his memories of her were lovely but . . . incomplete, blurry, blotched. He couldn’t remember her face. Still, in all honesty, that could’ve mattered less. Kim couldn’t be replaced by anyone. Truth be told, to Edward it seemed almost as though she were still alive. Sometimes, when thinking in the dark, he felt as if he had never actually lost her; that Kim was more to him than ever.

Running a lone finger along the mossy wall, and looking at his garden made him at peace. Maybe it was the comfort of finally being home. Finally feeling at home.

"Goodbye. . ." whispered Edward for the last time to anyone the 'young' man would ever see, know to be his friend, or to love. Lucy, and Katherine disappeared from his sight as the car drove away down the hill, never to return.

And, Edward took solace from being alone. This way he could think. Of course, it was horrible when he was all alone, all the time . . .

Pulling himself away from the window, Edward turned his sights to the Mansion. Raining glories daintily danced upon the gothic windows, curtaining the diamond-framed glass, and other bits of the garden and house had messily melded together. Studying the change, Edward actually thought the Mansion looked more gorgeous than he’d ever remembered it.

And so it was, all the cold cheer and fluffy white-wonderland snow was no more. No one talked much about him anymore; most of the old ones that knew the whole story had actually long since died.

So the story gradually sank deeper and deeper, lower and lower from a drama worthy of news headlines to a silly bedtime story. This solemn-silly tale became an urban legend—simply an alligator in a sewer, an absurd tall tale made up by adults to frighten unruly kids. Nothing more than a speck of truth layered in a thick clay of thrilling lies.

Some stories say he killed himself, some say he was murdered in a brawl with a neighborhood boy, and some even say he roams the streets of Suburbia to this very day, craving blood and slashing car tires. But that weird urban legend was indeed still up there on the Old Hill, in the Old House, all alone.

And so the story is nothing more than a fairty tale, and Edward Scissorhands was no more but a fictional being someone thought of in their sleep. . .and now, it never again, snowed in the town of Suberbia, and now, no one would ever dance in it again. . .

THE END

(It's official! The RP has ended! We kept it alive until the end! Sorry if it ended sadly, but it seemed to fit. Thanks for the awesome posts my friends!)
