Andy got out his Magnum and started shooting in the general vacinity of the natives, there were yells, and, after Andy's arm got numb with pulling the trigger countless times, the gun ran out of bullets, and the jungle was quiet.

Andy fitted another cartridge into the Magnum.

It was quiet, almost as if the natives went away.

Andy looked through the night vision goggles: nobody was there anymore, except for teh bodies. unless, of course, the natives were lying down pretending to be dead...

and his walkie talkie crackled to life
A half mile from camp, correct? Over.

he said back, "apparently all's calm, i think we should go back to camp. nobody's hurt bad. Over"

"Nobody's hurt bad except the natives," came Erin's voice, sounding more than a little angry, over the radio. "You just killed about fifty people! What did you think they were, rodents?!" Forget angry, she sounded furious. "I - I - I'm out!" and the radio beeped, signaling the fact that she had furiously turned off her radio and was stomping back to camp on her own.

andy was aware she had probably turned off her walkietalkie but said anyway, "well, they DID attack us, and they DID try to kill us. it was a no win situation. either we die, or they die. and i think 50 is exaggerating a bit... at least now we know what the native's attitudes toward us are...i'm comign back to camp with Wolfe. Leopard Over Out."

Andy couldn't comprehend what was wrong with killing those who tried to kill him and them. He and Wolfe did themselves favors. at least they didn't DIE. But then again, he's killed too many times to care. it was part of his job. he was a professional at it. he felt regret, but no remorse.

it's a kill or be killed world that he lives in. and he's good at killing.

Making sure his Magnum cartrigdge was full and his long knife safely within easy reach, he said to Wolfe, "cmon, lets get back to camp before we die."
and strode silently back camp.

Erin faintly heard him try to explain himself through the jungle and rolled her eyes, looking irate. She didn't try to reply, and resolved to be in her tent by the time he got back to camp. She wondered briefly what was wrong with her - she did not get angry easily at all. Maybe it was just the stress.

Andy went back to the camp, and took out his gear. he DID bring a laptop, but they didn't know it, and he wasn't about to show them. it was for emergencies, and he had to conserve the battery.
He got out his tent, and, without a word, went inside and went to sleep [assuming that he got everything inside first, he wont sleep on the dirk/dead leaves]. he didn't care about blasted natives. he's goign to get some sleep. Netive hunting is for mornings.

During the fight, Adam had stayed put in the camp, knowing that he wouldn't be too much help in a firefight. He waited with his radio on, until he heard that the group was heading back for the camp. He sighed and leaned back in his chair.
Not having anything else to do at the moment, he pulled out the map and looked at it again. Erin had managed to decipher the symbols for "king" and "ocean". After studying the paper for awhile, he thought he had figured out the symbol for "river".

Anna Marie, after getting back to the camp, reached to grab her sleeping bag and pillow, before she readied to go to bed. She wasn't going to bed just yet, but she liked to get her things ready early.

As for the cold and seasoned Wolfe, he didn't like to think of it as slaughter. Rather, he was doing what he'd been trained to do.

While the scientists deciphered the map, he sat the first night shift at the edge of camp with his laptop and various equipment spread on a portable table in front of him. For the tenth time that day, he attempted to contact the helicopters.

Shade appeared back at the camp a few moments later. She ignored everybody, quickly going into her tent. Something was wrong with her, but she tried not to let anyone else know. That wouldn't help her at all.

Erin spent the night bad-temperedly in her tent, emerging only to relieve Wolfe and take the second watch in stony silence. She would likely be over it by morning, but for now she was decidedly angry.

Shade, making sure no one saw here, took out her FirstAid kit and took out her wrapping tape. She slipped off her shoe slowly, wincing, followed by her sock.

Wolfe obliged himself with a quick packaged dinner before unrolled a sleeping bag and falling asleep in full combat fatigues.

[scientists, get that map deciphered... we need some action around here ]

Erin settled down with the copy she'd made of the old map and set about trying to decipher it. Her mood improved as the night wore on and she discovered more symbols, and eventually had about half of them figured out and was able to make an educated guess at the rest.

Shade wasn't sure what to do about the wounds content, but she decided just to wrap it up and put some ice in her shoe to make the swelling stop. She wrapped up her ankle and put a small ice pack on the wound before slipping her socks and shoes on. Then, she stood up and went outside, her ankle killing her. She looked up at the stars and sighed.

Adam, holding his copy of the map, went up to where Erin was sitting watch. He sat down on the ground next to her. "I think I've gotten quite a few of these symbols worked out." he said. "How are you doing on it?"
