(Sorry guys..... Been gone again... *groans*)
Rumour watches as the two men are trussed up and carried off. She then decides it's pretty boring without them and their troubles to liven things up, so she follows them to Aphetma. Rumour continues in the form of a wisp of mist or air, sometimes see-through, sometimes visible. She follows them to the dungeons and waits, moving along with them wherever they are taken.....including into the throne room.....

Knyn met Dimitri's eyes steadily, not flinching at the increasingly painful throb in his head. Somewhere in his brain registered that if Dimitri should make things difficult, he would abandon Orien and make a run for it.
He hesitated, then shrugged away his misgivings. Orien had made an interesting companion but old habits endured far longer than his sense of friendship. Petty sentiments had never helped him survive as a loner.
"I am allied with no one," he said, picking his words with care. "And I do not come from any particular place."

Dimitri's gaze hardened at Knyn's reply, but he answered lightly nonetheless. " You did not answer all of my questions..And. Let me rephrase this..Where were you born, and..where have you spent most of your life?"

Snake... Knyn thought warily. This one would be difficult to maneuver around.
"I was born in a village of no consequence to such a ruler like you," he said, not overdoing the flattery too much and adding just a slight tinge of sarcasm. "I have spent my life in places ranging from the far north to the orc territories in the south. I would not think you would like me to waste your time describing them?"

" In that you are right, I am limited in visiting hours.. But to a ruler like me..everything is in consequence, which is why I'm sending the both of you back to your suite." He smirked, and dismissed them, turning away. Orien gazed over at Knyn through the corner of his eye, slightly relieved that he had not angered Dimitri.

Knyn noted Orien looking at him and exchanged glances. They would have a lot to talk about in their cell that night.

Rumour watches the exchange from a dark corner up above the 'king's' head, where she has a nice vantage point. When they are taken back to their cell, she floats above them and waits until the gaurd leaves them......

Back in their cell, Knyn stretched out his legs and gingerly kneaded his forhead. The meditation had decreased the pain to a throb that he tenaciously ignored.
"You will tell me everything," he said to Orien. "I'll see what I can do to help save your kingdom but at the moment I know nothing."

Orien smirked lightly at Knyn's demanding authoritive air, it halfly reminded him of Judan. He was sitting back in his corner, twirling a piece of straw between his index and thumb digit absently.
" Seeing as we have time, why not.."
He heaved a sigh, and coughed some, trying to make himself as comfortable as possible for the long tale.
" Well..I didn't murder the King, as you could have guessed--or I suppose that was the woman we encountered earlier.. Anyway, Dimitri did. Ice fishing behind the palace..He just pushed him in. Well there was more involved, I think he had been on the lake the day before.. to see where it was thin and where it was safe, otherwise he could not have done it so swiftly.
" My mother was... Ill. She believed her younger son, and sentenced me to life in prison. For a prince to commit murder in Aphetma it is always life, no executions." He paused, a thoughtful look in his eyes now fading.
" Anything else you'd like to know?"

Knyn mulled this over, thinking it plausible enough.
"Just two more things. What do you know of Dimitri. And is there anyone in Aphetma who is allied with you?"

" To be quite honest, Knyn, I think the real question you need to ask is..who -isn't- allied with Dimitri? If you aren't with the King, you're against him. If the people knew the truth, I'd have no doubts they'd give me their alliegence. As for me knowing about my own brother, why don't we be more precise. What do you need to know? His motives? His ambition?"

"Whatever I need to know to defeat him," Knyn replied, pitching his voice lower as the jailer passed with another prisoner. "We might as well - "
"Plotting something?" the jailer stuck his head inside and sneered, offering them a pleasant view of his decaying teeth.
"No, we're just having a nice chat in rather amiable conditions," Knyn replied.
The jailer snarled. Five guards appeared beside him, entered, and grabbed hold of their arms. "On the king's orders, you're coming with me." He could not resist adding, "To make public display of you in front of the whole city!"

A black mist appears in front of the 6 men, wrapping about their faces and heads and squeezing tightly. Then 6 men fall, blood coming from their ears, noses, mouths, and eyes, but silence reigns, for their throats are constricted as well. When the men are dead, the black mist coalesces into the shape of Rumour, leaning against the wall and smirking. "Who did you say was allied with you, again?....."

He turned. The two 'gaurds' were back, waiting patiently it seemed.
" We cannot take your friends.."
" Yes you can." He interrupted. " If the Queen wishes to see me, it is only because of business, and business cannot be discussed without these individuals." His voice was marked with impatience.
" Forgive me, you're majesty. But did you not here those men? The King wants to display you, we can't have the both of you--Hey. That woman wasn't a prisoner, what's she doing here?"
" Nevermind that, I understand that time is of the essence. " Orien's sea-gray eyes looked back at Knyn and Rumour, assuming that they both understood to follow them.
