Jack ignored old wooden eye gladly, and listened to the more 'important' things that were going on.

The young pirate titled his head upwards to look at the three on deck, one of which was Bootstrap, "Oio..what she said! Come!"

He started calling the three down with his strange moving hands.

Elizabeth looked to Bootstrap with a soft smile, and nodded as she walked down the gangplank first and toward the rest of the crew.

Will followed behind her. Looking back to his father, he said, "This is the best plan possible. I would never want anything to happen to her."
-----------------------------

Ragetti turned around to inspect the town with his one eye, "Looks like it may be a while before we find any place at all...." The town was bustling with drunks, wenches, and gunshots. It looked like ants on an anthill.

"S'not her I'm worried about," Bootstrap muttered, cautiously making his way down the gangplank. He'd not taken two steps on dry land before he stumbled. "S'that," he added as he steadied himself on Will's shoulder. "I haven't set foot on dry land in over a decade, an' I never had good land legs t' begin with. S'unnatural, th' way land doesn't move beneath yer feet. Yer mother used t' not let me hold you 'til I'd been ashore for a few hours, fearing that I'd manage t' drop ye somehow."

"Aye, aye, ye'll adjust soon enough," Tia replied. "Now come. We'll get nothin' accomplished by standin' 'ere, aye?"

Jack observed Bootstrap's situation, and like Jack always had to do, he butted into the conversation right away.

"Oio, don't be a whelp like yer son.." Here he pointed a finger in Will's face and continued, "Look, I'm on the bloody land, and I walk bloody well fine! So come on!"

Here, Jack Sparrow turned around and started walking away to show Bootstrap an example of how well he walked...which, well, I think we all know how Jack Sparrow walked here and how it probably looked like.

"Spend ten more years on th' Dutchman without shore leave, an' we'll see how well ye walk, Jack," Bootstrap shot back dryly, now free of the support of Will's shoulder. He was managing to maintain some semblance of balance now, though his steps were still somewhat unsure. "Miss Dalma's right. I'll get used t' it eventually. 'Sides best way t' adjust is walking."

Will smirked at Bootstrap's smart remark back at Jack.

Elizabeth immediately placed herself next to Bootstrap, pressing herself against his hard rough side, and flung his arm over her shoulder. "I will help you along until you maintance your full balance once again, Mr. Turner," she said with a smile. She was beginning to like Bill and his personality....it reminded her much of Will.

Once Will saw that Elizabeth was helping his father, he quickly placed himself on the other side of Bootstrap to support him. They looked like two bookshelf ends holding up an extremely heavy, uncertain book.

Jack waved a floppy dismissive hands towards Bill and rolled his dark underlined eyes sarcastically.

Saunting his way over to Tia Dalma's side he muttered to her with a musing smirk, "Aye, me, Captain Jack Sparrow, ten years on the Dutchman? Workin' for ol' fish face? It'll ne'er happen, savvy?"

Whether this was directed to Tia, Bill, or to himself, one may never know.

"Don' be so certain, Spar-row," Tia warned, pointing a finger in Jack's direction. "You're lucky I could get ye out a'tall. My power in dis situation is limited. Aye, Jones'll listen ta me some, but him only answer ta one, an' she's nae available. If ye want ta be free, ye'll have ta defeat Davy Jones wit'out 'er."

"I appreciate th' gesture, but I'm fine," Bootstrap muttered, shrugging away Will and Elizabeth's help. "'S no different than gettin' on a ship after a long time on land. Landlubbers have t' develop sea legs, an' seamen have t' develop land legs. Right now I'd rather jus' find a decent room an' get off th' streets." With all the stares they were drawing, he was quickly beginning to remember the other reason he never went ashore.

"Oh really?" Growled at Barbossa giving a sharp looking at Tia. "And Bootstrap, if a man's desperate enough, he'll do what he has to." He added, watching the Fitter's crew get to work before turning away from the Pearl.

Norrington didn't respond, and just looked onward. Still unsure why Jones wasn't making move to really free himself.

Jack pulled his face back away from Tia and flashed her a smile of the sharp set of 'new' teeth that had formed in his mouth, "Way I look at is Miss Dalma, is that, right now, I already am free! Jones can't come to said land, and I...happen to be on said land!"

Elizabeth and Will respected Bootstrap's wishes and stepped aside. "All right, if you insist," said Elizabeth with a smile as she watched Bill try to walk on his own.

Ragetti stood behind Tia and poked her shoulder, "Where do you suppose we look first? For a room I mean." He played with his fingers nervously.

Tia waved a hand dismissively. "Ye're here because Jones is lettin' ye. Best get dat in yer 'ead now. An' even if 'e had no power o'er ye on land, long d'ye think ye'd last? Spar-rows are nae creatures ta be caged." Turning to address Ragetti and push his hand away, she added, "Hopefully where'er him been off to. Did ye fin' anyt'in, Hec-tor?"

Jack's eyes shifted side to side, re-thinking over Tia Dalma's words, until he came up with the best answer he could give, "I'd last as long as I'd want to last love..."

He nodded to himself for he seemed satisfied with what he said. Although, the Captain's expression changed to a cringe. "Ah..." he groaned and reached behind his back to scratch the silver fin that was painfully protruding itself farther out of his spine.

Ragetti pulled his hand away from Tia with a yelp, "Owwww! It stings!" He shook his hand and pulled it close to his chest.
-------------------------------------

Will and Elizabeth stood near eachother and awaited Tia's orders patiently. But Will's eye caught sight of the once small fin that was on Jack's back, "Uh, Jack,....your uh, uh, your," at this he pointed to his own back and then finished, "Your fin is much larger..."

[weell, PotR invited me to jump in this RPG and play teh part of Barbossa and Norrington, which I gladly accepted. Norrington, I'll post for at another time, a more opportune moment.]

Barbossa was just rounding the corner, and met them.

"Rooms, got us rooms." He inclined his head backwards, down the street a distance to a fine and fancy hotel, huge white front.

"Nooo, not that one, behind it, much more fitted to people of our... position."
