Erin passed him her copy of the map. "I've got a fair idea what those ones are," she told Adam, indicating a neatly written list on her notebook, "and I'm almost positive I know the other ones, which means we can make a fair guess at the rest of it - though of course we won't know for sure until we've discovered all of them."

Adam examined the list. Most of his ideas matched with what Erin had deciphered. He handed the list back to her, nodding. "I think the closest village will be this one." He pointed to a line of symbols on the map. "Think we should let Wolfe know about it now?"

Erin nodded, with a sly little smile. "He did seem pretty impatient, why keep him waiting?"

Shade then sighed angirly. The map! She knew Wolfe would kill her for both being late and not even starting to try and dechiper the map. She heard Andy and walked over and saw them working on the map. "Need any help?"

The first hints of dawn found the sleep-deprived Nicholas Wolfe awake with a cup of coffee in his hand. With his other hand, he was rapidly punching out letters on his laptop. He was on the military's knowledge database, busily researching typical native tribes in the general area. So far he'd learned that in the uncivilized reaches, tribes were small and intertribal relations perilous at best. At least now he knew that the coordinated attack last night wasn't the entire cursed island gaining up on them.

Adam looked up as Shade walked over. "Well, we think we've got one location that's pretty near to us figured out. I was about to go let Wolfe know." he stood up. "Do you want to work with Erin on it awhile?"

Shade nodded. "Okay."

Adam found Wolfe's tent, and knocked on the flap. "Can I come in, sir?" he asked. "We have some of the map figured out."

[okay, im deciding for Andy to be sort of a mixed figure, but nobody else knows it okay? just informing you guys]
Andy booted his laptop, with no way to charge it here, he has to conserve energy, although the good thing was the laptop DID have enough power to last 13 hours.
it was also small and could easily be concealed in his bike's seat. but righ tnow, he had to give a report.
Normal laptop's keys clacked when pressed, andy's didn't. this laptop, like him, were made (except andy wasn't made) for spywork, made for stealth.

He opened up tbe coded window and began decoding it as he read in his head.

When he heard adam speak to Wolfe, Andy turned off the laptop, he hadn't finished reading, but what he had read was enough.

He went outside casually, opened his seat, sure no one was watching, and made to get something out while he tucked the laptop securely in and took out his Urban Sniper. He checked to make sure it was fully stocked in slugs, and took out a pouch of extra ones.

Wolfe jerked to vigilance when he heard Adam's voice outside his tent. "Morning, Hawk," he greeted more brightly than usual, letting Adam inside and offering him a cup of coffee. "Map deciphered? Excellent, can you show me?"

Shade sat down and stretched her sore ankle out on the other side and looked at the other copy of the map.

Erin came after him belatedly, with the list of deciphered figures in her notebook. "Actually, here they are," she added, stepping into the tent. "We agree, I believe" - here she glanced at Adam - "that the ones here are almost definetely correct, and educated guesses can be made as to the others, though of course we can't know for sure quite yet. "

Christian sat in his tent doing his morning inspection of his two rifles. He looked them over, making sure they were in perfect condition for whatever would happen today.

Abigail sat on the floor of her tent, already dressed and ready to go. Her eyes scanned the screen of her laptop re-reading the report on this assignment for the hundreth time. She'd not been included in the action yesterday; she and Christian had stayed to watch the camp. So she had not gathered any more observations of the natives.

Adam took the cup of coffee gratefully, then turned as Erin came into the tent. He took the notebook from her and showed it to Wolfe, laying the map beside it. "We found several locations that are along the river he said. This one-" he pointed to the map. "sounds like the nearest one to where we are now. It says it's near where the river curves to the west."
