(There's heat sensors. Plus the cloaking device is timed. Functions only for one hour.)
Marvilan entered the aeroengine and began turning on the engine. He only waited for Feyl's call. He planned a maximum speed of ten kilometers.

Karina looked at her sack. Packing heavily was a normal women's task as Feyl put it. Karina had only taken one backpack and a saddle bag. She made do with taking the necessities, although she had wanted to take more. Still for a woman she was traveling lightly.

Marvilan drummed his mechanical fingers on the steering wheel, waiting.

Nolani led her mare out of the stable. Nolani tried to mount on her own, but failed. Threng offered her a boost, but she refused
"I'll do this on my own" She growled. Her mare was quite a bit smaller than the other horses, being one of the fleet footed horses of the desert, but the length from the ground to the saddle was still considerably long. She tried again, and again she failed. Irritated, she summoned a levitating spell that floated her into the saddle. Threng lept onto his horse's back without using the stirrups.
"Show off" Nolani muttered. Threng flashed her a smile.

((Erk, I'm so sorry, I cannot believe I missed this...*bangs head methodically on desk* I think my IQ must take a dip mid-february. Honestly. I guess I'll have to play my own Guardian as it seems my initial one has disappeared...eh...just pretend he was here all along...next time I don't post for a while someone give me a good poke))
Gwyria, thunderous expression daring anyone to ask why she was late, came imperiously around a corner followed by an extremely disgruntled Haevyn, who was carrying several saddlebags and likewise bore a decidedly unimpressed mien.
A moment or two and she stood beside her dainty little yearling mare, the smallest horse available. Haevyn, his own horse nearly twice the size of hers, made to offer his diminutive charge a hand, which she accepted. Then both turned their gazes on Feyl.

Marvilan sighed and began talking to the computer who talked back. "Engines on standby. Batteries are at 84% charge. Hull intensity at 100%. Missiles armed but not activated." Marvilan nodded.

I think you mean hull integrity, Caunion.
------
Feyl almost choked.
"You brought missiles!?" he squeaked. If the Bekaran used those, any chance for stealth would go right out the window, as the saying went. Hopefully he had the discretion to know when and when not to use them. They would do no good against the Archway, for instance. The only thing that could close--or open--it was magic. That was something Feyl was grateful for--if it wasn't for that, the Gohl could have swarmed over the world already.
"Marvilan, you do know that you won't be able to use those missiles, right?" he asked, a little hesitantly. Right now would be a very bad time for the Bekaran to act testy.
Dorlan, sensing something of Feyl's mood, rested his hand on his warhammer in preparation. In itself it was not a threat, but coupled with Dorlan's cold eyes, it took on a whole new meaning. Feyl gave him an irritated glance. Now would also be a bad time for a fight. He had no doubts that Dorlan could win, with his years of training and his enchanted armor, but it would slow them down. A lot.
Noticing that everyone was waiting for him, he led his horse out of the stable and mounted. They might as well start now.

(sorry)
"Which is why they're not activated," Marvilan snapped back. "It's law now that all aeroengines are supposed to have armed missiles. In face of the new danger now."

Eshtok quickly mounted, adjusting his pack and weapons. He rode out after Feyl, eager to get started.

Marvilan pressed a few buttons on the console panel and the engine hummed happily. He plugged a maximum speed of 25 mph and an altitude of eight feet. He began flying.

There was a hushed discussion between Gwyria and Haevyn, which concluded in the petite Kor'daera looking, to say the least, distinctly unimpressed. She urged her likewise diminutive horse after Feyl, already itching to get her hands on those Gohl. It really was too bad her only weapons were the tiny dagger hidden in her thick braid and various others on her person - if she could get her hands on a real weapon (she thought with unnatural bloodthirstiness for both a female and a Kor'daera), no matter her height she'd be a formidable opponent.
As it was - and here Gwyria felt Haevyn's grim gaze on the back of her head - she'd have to trust a Guardian.
