Shannon screamed again but then her legs started moving. She ran. When she quickly glanced back she noticed Sayid was behnd them what comforted her a bit.

Something white and fury could be seen in the distance and it moved towards them at an incredible high speed. Jack didn't think about leaving Drew behind and he grabbed her both arms and threw her at her side at the moment he heard gun shots. Jack tried to keep Drew covered on the ground and at the same time tried to look back whatever was happening next to them.

Sawyer grimaced, he knew it was going to be though. "Go!" he groaned to Drew but then Jack threw her at the ground. Sawyer took his gun with the speed of a gunmen and started firing at the onknown white beast but it kept running. Sawyer grimaced and fired a seventh, eighth time when the beast gave a loud groan, stopped in his tracks and fell down before Sawyer's feet.

Arianna slowly backed to where Sawyer was. "Good kill. Thanks for the save." she told him before kneeling beside the dead polar bear. She studied the animal for a moment, confusion written all over her face. "What on earth?!" she muttered under her breath as she rose. "What the heck is a polar bear doing in a jungle?!" she cried, as she glanced at all of them, knowing that they probably would not have an answer either. It just didn't make sense. But little seemed to make sense here-wherever that was.

Drew yelled at Jack, "Get off of me, now!" She was used to giving orders not taking them, so she did not apprecaite Jack telling her what to do much less knocking her to the ground (even if it was for her own protection). Her eyes grew wide as she watched over Jack's houlder, Sawyer shooting the animal. "Get off...please", Drew repeated to Jack. Her angery had subsided a bit since they were no longer in imediate danger.
Sayid turned around when he heard gun shots. He then walked over to the animal and kneeled beside of it. "It is a polar bear", Sayid said.
Charlie stopped dead in his tracks. His intention was to just stand there but when Arianna moved towards the animal, Charlie followed her. "Leave it alone, Arianna it might still be alive", Charlie said in a half panicked voice.
"You need not worry about that, Charlie. It is most certainly not going to harm anyone now." Sayid said. Sayid then stood up and looked around, "something is very strange about this place....polars bears definetly do not belong on a tropical island in the middle of no where".

Jack got up, just looked thoughtfull at Drew but remained silent. He frowned "This isn't what I saw moving yesterday in the jungle. That was a lot bigger.."

Shannon trembled and looked as if she was about to faint. Her breath was unregular and to calm herself she slowly sat down on a treetrunk.

Annoyed by the conversation about the polar bear and what it whether it belonged here he said with an irritated voice: "Whatever the bloody bear was doing here doesn't matter, it is dead now!"

Arianna shrugged. "Yes. But what if there are more out there?" Suddenly, a new thought just dawned on her. Or what if something worse is out there? she thought in her mind, a troubling expression crossed her face for a brief second. Yet, she remained silent on her fears, there was no need to alarm the rest of the group. "We will either need to look for a safer place or find weapons to defend ourselves. And the latter may not be likely unless someone is stashing a horde of guns we can raid." she added wryly. She then looked at Charlie as he came up to her. "Sayid's right. This one won't be a problem now." And I emphasize this one. she thought to herself. "But thank you for your concern. She then glanced at Sayid and Jack. "Should we move on now?" she asked.

Misha sat beside Shannon and put an harm around her trembling shoulders, trying to comfort her, while she was staring at the polar bear in disbelieve. She turned back to Shannon, who seemed to be really terrified. "It's okay..." she said calmly "It's alright now..."

Charlie gave a a small smile at Arianna and Sayid. It did make him feel alot better that they both felt sure taht this polar bear would no longer be a danger to them. He then breathed a sigh of reliefe.
Sayid stood back from the polar bear. "Yes moving forward would be our best option right now (he looked at Arianna) and from now on...no loud noises (he looked at nearly the entire group) or just running on ahead...nor standing still when you are told to run (he gave a quick glace at Drew, Sawyer, and Shannon", Sayid said.
Drew stood up and apologized to Jack, "sorry..I just...I am sorry. Wait a minute yesterday? What did you see yesterday? What are you talking about?"

Shannon tried to keep her breath in control but it was hard.. why had she forgotten to take her medicine with her..? She nodded weakly at Arianna and Sayid and panted: "I'm alright, I'll be not trouble anymore.."

Jack looked at Sayid. "Sayid's right. This isn't just a nice walk through the forest. I'm here to find out where we could be, if there are people on the island.. lets try not to get even more in trouble.." He shrugged as Drew apologised. "Just forget it.." He was going up to the front of the group and took the lead together with Sayid. "Yes.. remember yesterday night. There was this huge thing which ripped trees from the ground and made loud noise.. It'll probably be still out here.." Jack started walking again, away from the strange sight of the dead polar bear.

Sawyer sighed: "Long live this polar bear hunt.." He put the pistol back in his trouser and his shirt over it, feeling more annoyed than ever. When the others were leaving the place Sawyer stayed behind with the bear for a minute. "Well then, bye bye Bear.." he said "Lets hope we don't meet your friends.."

Drew stood up and said, "Oh yes. Last night...I suposed that that was some kind of scientific event rather than an animal. It seemed much to big to be an animal."
Sayid interupted Drew by saying, "Yes, Jack we should keep moving. I certainly do not think that it is sage enough to stay in one place in the middle of the jungle for very long". He then took his place at the very front of the group.
Charlie sighed, tried to stop his shaking hands, and fell into the line (at the very back of the group). This was certainly not what he had signed up for...at all, he thought as he shook his head.
Drew turned back to face Sawyer when she realised that Sawyer was not tagging along and seemingly talking to the dead polar bear. "come along", Drew shouted back.

Arianna walked somewhere in the middle of the group, her eyes scanning the woods for any other sign of danger. She could hear her father's voice in her mind, as clearly as if he stood next to her. You will one day be glad for this. he had told her in her impatience. Arianna gritted her teeth, banishing thoughts of him from her mind. The last thing she needed was to have her memories clouding her judgment. Why can't you leave me alone? she thought bitterly, annoyed that his prophetic words seem to be coming true.

Sawyer glanced at Drew and sneered "Why don't you just mind your own business?" Nevertheless he walked over to the group until he was behind a silent Charlie.

Shannon was quiet. Questions of where they had ended up occupied her thoughts. She feared there were no inhabitants on this island, which made their chance on rescue even smaller. Did it only depend on their little signal fires now? Shannon sighed. This was bad.. now she was stuck with Boone all day..

Jack followed Sayid as they were moving further into the jungle which seemed peaceful, quiet and even beautiful now. The tensed atmosphere which he had felt when the bear lurked around had disappeared. "Strange.." he mumbled.

Arianna looked at the serenity with a mixture of both fascination and trepidation. Where are we? she thought to herself. In all my life, I have never known an island filled with such a natural beauty and yet such unusual dangers. What kind of place is this? And why are you here? she thought as the group walked along.

Drew rolled her eyes and turned around to continue walking when Sawyer made his hateful comment. However she did listen intently to make sure that Sawyer rejoined the group. She gave a smile of reliefe when she heard his light footsteps behind the group.
Charlie walked forward with his head down. In truth he was starting to truely hate this place more and more. He was scared and worried. He sighed and shook his head.
Sayid carefuly lead the group deeper into the jungle. He wanted answers and he wanted them now and he wanted off of that island. If he had any so say in it he was going to get himself and the other survivors off of that island.

Jack tabbed Sayid on the shoulder and whispered: "Sayid, look, right over there.. isn't that a part of the plane..?" In the distance, hidden between bushes and trees something huge of metal stuck vertically from the ground.

Sawyer watched Jack whisper to Sayid and bit his lip. He was curious, but the last thing what he would do was ask them.. The doc and the Iraqi seemed to be in charge, they wouldn't ever tell him what their plans were.. The silence in the jungle was interupted by raindrops falling from the sky and within a minute it was raining heavily. Which only increased Sawyer's frustration more.. He hated the bloody island already..

Sayid quickly nodded. "Yes yes it is. I wonder....shouldn't there be a radio transceiver in there. Ah, yes I feel quite certain that there should be. Shall we go and see if you can get it?", Sayid briskly said.
Charlie just kept walking with a grumpy look frozen onto his face. Drew also kept walking. When it started raining Charlie made a horrible face. He allready didn't like this little trip through the jungle and rain was the last thing in the world that he wanted to have to deal with at the moment. Sayid paid little attention at that point to the rain one way or the other. It was true that they may need the water and Sayid knew that but at the moment he was busy thinking about the part of the plane that they had seemingly found. Drew on the other hand was paying more attention the rain. She looked up and smiled. Truth be told she had begun to worry over their water situation and welcomed the rain. However perhaps in time her opinion of the rain would change.

Arianna groaned as it started to rain. "Does fate have any other surprises?" she muttered to herself, as she tried to mask her annoyance. Pushing back her now drenched dark locks she walked up to Jack and Sayid. "A part of the plane?" she asked. "Do you think we can use something to get in contact with the sane world?"
