((Well, seein' as we're about 10 months into this RPG and are actually in the process of wrapping it up (this is the final 'scene' of this RPG)...aye, kinda late. However, Pip and I already have a sequel planned, and we'll be putting it up as soon as this one finishes (sometime in May, I'm guessing). So keep an eye out for a new thread posted by either me or Pippin, and grab yourself a role then. The three of us are playing a lot of roles right now simply because so many people have dropped out over time and left vacancies, but we'll be relinquishing several of them when the new RPG comes (plus there will be quite a few new characters). So just keep a weather eye on the horizon, aye? ;)))

No sooner had the kiss begun than it was abruptly ended. Without warning, Jack found himself being pulled away by two strong hands on his shoulders-- one belonging to an annoyed father-in-law, and the other to a protective former-Admiral. Neither one spoke, but neither did they release their grip on Jack.

Tia merely tsked softly, the corner of her mouth lifting fractionally. "If I be recallin' correctly, de last time ye try dat, ye wound up chained to a mast," she said dryly.

Elizabeth's face was that of shock and Will's was that of anger.

As Jack was pulled away, so was Elizabeth by William. "What the bloody do you think you're doing?!" Will shouted at Jack. His eyes scanned Jack's face ready to sear through him.

Elizabeth held onto Will, but she did not look to Jack. Her attention was upon the two men who held Jack. It made her feel comforted that she may be able to trust these other men for once.

Jack squirmed like a fish and finally slapped himself free of James grip. Although, the young pirate couldn't wiggle himself free of Bootstrap's hard barnacled hands that clung to his skin.

Defeated Jack rolled his kohl-rimmed eyes at Tia, "All evidence to the contrary love..."

Meanwhile, the two crewmen who had been holding James captive had made their way over to the group.

"Cap'n?" Maccus finally asked, breaking the silence and grasping the former-Admiral's arm once more. "We found this one hidin' near th' boats. What're we t' do with 'im?"

"I was hardly hiding," James replied dryly, wincing slightly as he attempted to ignore the stabbing sensation of the crewman's sharp nails digging into his skin. "I surrendered of my own free will." He turned to face Jack, his gaze fixed steadily upon the captain now responsible for determining his fate. "I do not deny my active role in the events that have transpired, nor do I pretend to be entirely free from blame," he said evenly, bowing his head slightly in resignation. "I will willingly accept any punishment I have brought upon myself."

Seeing James at such a humble state, made Elizabeth have compassion on his distraught soul. She could only imagine how he must have felt....having lost Davey Jones.....lost control of the Dutchman....lost to Jack Sparrow, the pirate he hated.........and now lost his first love, Elizabeth.....

Looking to Jack, Elizabeth could only hope that Jack would not do anything horrible. Grasping onto Will's waist she begged, "Please, Will do not let Jack kill him."

William could see the pleading in Elizabeth's eyes and he was grateful to James handing over his bride to him. Shifting his eyes hesitantly toward Jack, he said, "Jack, let him go free."

Jack Sparrow curled up a lip in digust and looked over the distraught Admiral. As Sparrow’s law would have it, James would be marooned on some god forsaken island, or hung from the anchor by his toes.

But then a guilty look washed over Jack's face and he sat quiet, glancing over at his enemy. Jack tapped his fingers together, then tapped his chin trying to decide upon what to do. Finally he rolled his eyes as he came to his conclusion.

Looking over to William he responded to the man by saying, "Is it absolutely necessary?"

"Yes, of course," Will answered Jack with a stern look. He wouldn't budge on this one with Sparrow.

"Please Jack," Elizabeth piped in, "Do this for me...as a wedding gift." Her eyes sank deep into Jack's with her face in a placid state.

"Somethin' tells me I've heard that before..." Jack grumbled to himself, eyes falling slightly to The Dutchman's deck, before they pulled themselves up again.

Jack fingered his chin dangles and peeked at James. "Well, it's not like I don't 'ave a heart mate.." said Jack showing a lazy grin and pointing to his chest.

James looked to where Jack was pointing, only to start slightly in surprise as he noticed what looked like old scar tissue covering the fist-sized area where the pirate's heart would be. He considered mentioning it, but held his tongue. He somehow doubted it would be to his benefit to argue anything at the moment.

Bootstrap, however, didn't seem to share the former-admiral's reservations. Clearing his throat awkwardly, he hesitated as he searched for the right words. "Aye...'bout that..."

"'Tis one o' de conditions of de captaincy," Tia interrupted. "Jones has been replaced by you...an' him heart by yours."

"What?!" shrieked Elizabeth at Tia. "Is this some sort of joke? You can't be serious!"

Releasing her embrace of Will, she stepped toward Jack and looked intently at the gruesome scar tissue attached to his chest.

Will gazed at his father and grew angry, "Why didn't you tell him?! He did not know there would be this consequence!" He couldn't believe that his father would deceive Jack into murdering Jones, when he himself knew that Jack could be killed in the same manner.

Jack's face fell flat and his eyes twitched back and forth. He swung his gaze to Tia Dalma, who he’d assumed had just spoken. "I’m sorry," he said huskily, "could ye repeat that?"

Jack then immediately looked down and tore open his shirt more to see what the others were staring at.

There it was indeed. A large area of weakened flesh that had bandaged up a harsh wound. Suddenly, like a clearing of mist, Jack started to realize what he truely had done and what it had done to him.

The next thing Jack knew, there was a white-hot pain in his chest, his mouth opened in alarm as he kept his gaze down. He expected to see the hilt of a sword or cutlass sticking out, but there was nothing. His dark eyes glazed over, like fog over an inky-black sea. He found his hands pressing against his chest, searching for a pulse.

Of course, he reasoned dully, it's not there.

Slowly, Jack's head started to lift and he stared for a while, past the individuals by his side. There he had remained, not moving a muscle. Not moving at all, but for the slight wind that stirred his dreadlocked hair, softly clinking the beads together.

Finally, Sparrow spoke, "Then...where is it? Where is my thump-thump?"

"I told Jack there'd be great sacrfice involved," Bootstrap protested. "I even volunteered t' do it myself. Contrary to appearances at times, Jack's a grown man. His choices are 'is own."

"I should hope it'd be sittin' in de chest righ' now," Tia said in response to Jack's query. "'Tis safe for de time bein'. Dere be more important matters to discuss."

"Ah!" hollared Sparrow with worried eyes and a crooked brow.

Jack ran and slid across the wooden planks before he disappeared below deck in a blurred motion. After all, Captain Jack didn't want his heart to share the same fate of Davey Jones.

Moments later, Jack reappeared back on deck with the chest buried underneath his right and opened. Jack's left hand held a fresh heart that pulsed unnaturally fast, due to the fact that Sparrow was overly active and slightly crazed.

"Look!" shouted Jack to the others across the deck with a gleeful smirk, "It beats all by its onesies!"
