Braad stood up and moved around his small cell, walking from one side to the other-a short distance. "I wouldn't worry about it too much." he said to Meleth. "They just needed a couple of innocents to take their anger out on."

Kith tensed up. Gifts? What was this she was talking about? He knew nothing of the shapeshifter life except what Brengh told him in passing, and what he had leaned himself. "You're a shaeshifter?" He tried not to sound interested, but he was. He was alone in his heritage. A shapeshifter never left the forest to join civilization. Why had she? He hardened his resolve, though not by much. "I can help myself. I have before"

Meleth wrapped her arms around her knees, rubbing her wrists. "Ouch. Funny," she said, looking disconsolately around, "I can't remember escaping before. How did we manage it, I wonder?"

Braad frowned. "That is funny, now that you mention it." I can't remember it either." He tore a strip from the bottom of his shirt and carefully wrapped it around his shoulder with his other hand. He managed to tie the ends into a rather clumsy knot, and sat down. "I guess we'll just have to come up with a new way to get out."

Elendi smiled slightly. "You are a bright one, aren't you?" She chuckled a bit and said, "But that was then, this is now! This is different...you had help then...you will need help now."

"Of what help do you speak?" Kith asked slowly. When she said "Help" did she mean Brengh? How did she know? It couldn't be a coincidence, could it? He didn't like how close she was to his personal life. His stride lengthened. "What is you talk about, and how is it different?"

"You had a companion, a very well known and brave companion, bless 'im." Elendi said and she kept up with him. "You know...what is ahead. I am not sure what things are happening but by the way the leader treated you so harshly and how I was attacked by the gaurd when I was only walking near them, they are signs. You are brave and strong and wise, for your age, from what I have heard of you, and I want to help you."

(Well Kith doesn't really know what's ahead, but other than that its sounds fine! )

Kith grimaced. "If you knew him, then you should know he is now dead." He suddenly realized it was quite possible the two had know eachother, at least for a little while. Elendi looked to be about Kith's age.....She would have been about eight the last time she had seen him. That's old enough to remember. "You said you have heard of me, but from where?"

Elendi looked down, her breathe caught in her throat. "Dead, you say...well..." She took a couple of gasping breaths and then said, "He told me he had vision of a young, handsome boy with dark eyes, who was a stubborn and ambious shifter. You fit the describtion perfectly. He left to go and find you. That was the last time I saw him..."

"And find me he did. In slavery. We were both slaves for twenty years and I knew him for a mere week. He promised to teach me the ways of a shifter once we were free, but he didn't make it that far. What I know of shifting I taught myself." Kith almost spat the words. A fat lot of good his shifting kin had done him. Abandoned him to his traitor father, that's what they did.

"A sword to the throat." Kith replied. Suddenly he tensed. He heard somthing. In an instant guards surrounded him and Elendi, bows raised and swords ready to be unsheathed. A burly man stepped forward. "Kith, you are under arrest for murder and an attempted escape from prison. You will be escorted back to prison" Kith growled, but did not move, They were surrounded by many men, too many to face alone.
Tur, if you want the gaurd to announce Elendi's sentance, go ahead)

Another gaurd poked the guard that just spoke and then whispered quietly and quickly, both glancing at Elendi. The gaurd growled and showed the man back and then said, "Also, Elendi, you are also under arrest for treason, murder, thief, and breaking from prison when you where arrested eariler for the same charges." Elendi glanced at Kith, wondering what they should do.

Kith grimaced. there was a slight chance......he jumped into the air, shifting to a swallow in the process. He darted away, swifly changing directions making him an unpredictable target. Arrows flitted by, but none hit him. Suddenly, he felt a pull. With an agnry screech he fought it, but the pull was too strong. "They have a binding mage!" He screamed. "How many of them do they have?" Moments latter he was pulled back to the ground, and forced into human shape. A hard slab of magic kept him from his shifting abilities. He tried to fight, but the gaurds quickly rushed in and tackled him to the ground.

Elendi took out a dagger and threw it at the gaurd that first attacked Kith. It nailed the gaurd and he fell to the ground. But there seemed to be gaurds coming out of the ground, for more surround Kith and then she felt one gaurd grab her from behind. She struggled and wanted to shift, but the binding mage put a spell on her too and she was pushed to the ground right beside Kith.

Kith was dragged to his feet. He stumbled, trying to make it hard for the guards but they were brutally strong. They held both his arms in vice like grips. Willing or not, you will be imprisoned. He heard a slight "thp" and felt a needle like prick in his neck. His vision grew cloudy. The drugged dart pushed him into unconscience and his world grew dark.
