"Wait. She worked for The Covenant?!" Rohner asked, amazed.

"Yes," Mia said calmly. She hesitated to go on, but she decided to explain what happened and why Kali now works at APO still.
"Kali came back and told us how to overthrow The Covenant. She now works for APO and she is a field agent that agents Bristow, Santos, Murcek and I work alongside. I have never once doubted the effort she puts into APO. I know that she may have a mysterious background, but I also know that she is an excellent agent. As of now, I do not doubt her loyalty."

Sydney, Nadia and Kali were sitting at a table in the resturant when Sydney suddenly thought of something.
"Did anyone see Mia leave APO?" she asked.

Rohner was rather appalled, and annoyed.
"Very well. You may leave." She said. She decided to believe agent Lane. Agent Renie did seem like she was trusting; everyone made mistakes sometimes.

"No, she probably left right after us." Kali said to Sydney.

Mia left the office and went out the door without giving a second glance back at the building. She went down the street, but didn't get far until her cell phone rang. She looked at the number.
Picking it up she said, "Hey, Austin."
They had a short conversation on when they would have lunch next. Austin sounded like it was important; like he needed to talk to her about something. Mia thought about it for awhile, then decided that he could come over tonight to her place and she'd make something. They agreed.
When she got to her apartment, she opened the door, threw her bag on the couch and went right to the fridge to find something to cook.

"I hope Rohner didn't make her stay, for questioning. Did she seem like she didn't fit in to you? Like she didn't know anything, most would read case files but it seemed like she didn't know a thing. Is it just me or did you guys see it too?" Sydney asked.

"Oh yeah. Rohner didn't know a thing. At all." Kali said.

"There's something about the way they just barged in right when we had the document, that doesn't seem right to me." Syd added.

"Yeah. But director Chase was with them, and she didn't seem happy about having to let them take the document. Besides, DSR does this all the time. Remember when they took you in because they thought you were going to 'wreck havoc' on the world because you're the chosen one?" Kali asked.

Kali laughed.
"Yeah. And is it just me..or was 'Ms. Rohner' rather rude?" Kali asked.

"Rude? I think that's putting it a little to nicely. I think she was intrusive and she thought to highly of herself, she'd be a horrible field agent." Sydney said laughing.

There was a couple of light knocks on the door and Mia realized she hadn't closed her door.
"Come in, Austin!"
He came in and went up to Mia and kissed her cheek. "Hey," Austin said."What's wrong? You look wiped out."
"I am. Long day at work. Some woman wanted to question me about if I had done something wrong at our business."
"Did you?"
"Did I what?"
"Do anything wrong."
"Oh, no, I didn't," Mia said shortly.
Mia had already cooked dinner and they ate it fast. While they were on the couch afterwards, talking, Mia asked, "So, what's up? You sounded like you needed to talk to me about something."
"Yeah," Austin said. "About that. You know, you've been working really hard lately. I think too much. Have you ever considered going...I don't know, out? Somewhere away from work and your apartment."
"I go grocery shopping sometimes," Mia said softly with a smile on her face. "I don't know the Travle company just won't let me sleep...literally."
"I should talk to them," Austin suggested.
"No," Mia said. "You can't. I love my job, I just wish it had shorter business hours."
The conversation ended there. They sat on the couch for awhile longer and then Austin decided it was time to head home. He got up and left with a goodbye and shut the door behind him.
Mia washed the dishes, took a shower and changed before going to bed.

"I doubt she would have the skills to become a field agent at all. And yes, she thought much too highly of herself. She became annoyed every single time we said something she didn't like." Kali said.
