(i'll start in an old forest where my char's live, i reck'on...)
The dim lighting in the dark forest of old was great cover for many beast of the world. Mortals where never caught there unless all you saw where their bones, but two figures could be seen walking through the deepest corners of the forest. Two figuries, one female and one male, both cloaked, where walking through the forest.
The female, whom's name was Layien, had dark brown hair and deep sea-green eyes. Her clothes made her blend into the darkness and most called her "Shadow", but she was on the good side.
Her brother, Shade, was an very handsome charactor whom had shaggy dirty blond hair with dark, beautiful blue eyes. Most where scared of him for he was strong but many girls had a crush on him, but he and his sister where outcasts, so no one really talked to them.
Near Shade and Layien, a small baby dragon walked, light blue scales glowing beautifully. She talked to them quietly, through her mind.
"When do you leave?" The dragon asked.
"In three days, if we are to get to Hogwarts on time, I am guessing, don't you think, Shade?" Layien replied and Shade nodded. The dragon sighed solemly.
"It is lonesome here without you two."
"We will see you again, my friend." Shade said, smiling.
"But the Dark Lord is growing more powerful...and you two are no more better than hatchlings, always getting your noses where they don't belong. It will hurt you one day." The dragon protested.
"We will be fine. Now, the sun is coming up and you need rest from hunting. Stay out of trouble." Layien said.
"Use your own advice." The dragon sighed and then, with two mighty strokes of her wings, took off into the air through the clearing of the trees. Shade and Layien both watched in awe and then turned to go back out of the forest.

Hermione stared into the dark night. In the distance she could see the vague shapes of Pigwidgeon, with her letter for Harry. She'd borrowed Pig from Ron as she was staying at the Weasley's for the summer. Only because it had been Dumbledore's wish Harry had gone back to the Dursley's but she worried about him.
She turned her back to the window and sighed. Everything had changed, Hogwarts wouldn't ever be the same again without Dumbledore. At the moment, the Weasleys had started the preparations for the marriage, but she was not in the mood to celebrate. By hearing stumbling on the stairs Hermione woke up from her thoughts and she watched the door swing open.
(( So that could be Ron or Ginny.. take your pick ))

Ginny walked in, her eyes red from crying. "Hermione" she croaked. "Its Harry, he thinks..." she sat down and sobbed, her red hair falling past her shoulders. "I think..he doesn't love me anymore."

"What?-" Hermione looked at Ginny in disbelief and pulled her arm around her shoulders. "That's nonsense.. what happened?" She frowned: "Did Ron say anything to you about that?"

"No....b-b-but he doesn't answer my letters anymore." she sobbed. "Rons useless." she sobbed, her eye make-up running down her face.

"Well.." Hermione hesitated as she thought of the difficult position of Harry. "Ginny, you need to understand that Harry has to take a step back. He doesn't want you to be in danger and you will as you'll keep contact.." she stopped for a moment and then got an idea how to cheer her friend up: "He'll come by soon.. for Bill and Fleur's wedding, you'll see him then.."

Ron rubbed his eyes and he came in from the other room. He watched Ginny leave sobbing but paid it no real mind. Instead he turned to Hermione. "What are you girls blubbering about?" he said grouchily with a yawn.

Layien and Shade both walked to the west edge of the forest, where an old, wooden cottage stood, smoke coming from the stone chimney. A flowing river flew down hill on the right of it and the forest was forever flowing behind it and around it, but the left side was the edge of the forest. About 10 miles out from there, was the ocean, and you could hear it's calm sounds from the cottage.
They both walked inside, revealing a small, homey place to live in. There was a kitchen in the far corner of the house with a few built-in log cabinets, along with a small table with chairs. Then, there was only two more rooms, a bathroom behind one door on the left side and in the middle of the home was an rug with an small couch, a lamp with a wooden table beside it, and on the far side was two small bunts for them to sleep on. The chinmey was smoking from the large fireplace burning brightly, lighting the entire cottage, made from Rowan Tree wood, and it was very sturdy.
Layien took off her boots and combed out her hair, then braided it slowly back up as Shade walked over to the kitchen and grabbed two glasses out of the cabinet and pulled out two cans of Dr. Pepper. He walked back into the middle room, which they called the Den. He sat on the sofa and put both glasses on the table and started to fill them as Layien came in. She looked out the window by her bunk and saw the full moon shinning brightly. She sighed and sat on the ground near the fire, nodding to Shade as she took an sip of the pop as she gazed into the fire.
"The year will never be the same." She muttered, thinking about Hogwarts and their old Headmaster. SHade understood what she was talking about and sighed, nodding in agreement, though since her head was turned she didn't see him. After they finished their drinks and put the glasses away, they both silently got ready for bed and without even muttering a "Good Night" to one another, both got into there beds and fell asleep to the sound of waves and the last of the wood crackling in the fireplace.

Harry lay in his bed thoughts flying through his mind. Suddenly he heard a pecking, Hedwig. He opened the window and she lay on the windowsill holding a letter in his clasp, he opened it slowly, recognising Hermiones spricture, he sighed, not who he wanted to speak to.

"You should be worrying about him too.." Hermione sneered eventhough she didn't mean it that way. She continued in a more apoligising tone while playing with a lock of hair. "When Sirius died- I think- now Dumbledore- " She tried to find the right words, but she felt again overcome with emotions when she thought of Sirius and Dumbledore.
"I think that Dumbledore's death could be too much for Harry.." her voice faded and she remained silent.

Ron looked at Hermione in a bit of shame. "Well...yes..I suppose that's true. But we'll see him in a few days and then we can keep an eye on him." His face lightened. "It'll be ok Hermione." He smiled trying to cheer her up.
