(Can I play two olves? if not, I'll change)

Nightstorm trotted through the snow. His black coat didn't offer much camofloge against the white snow, but he didn't care. He was large and strong. Beside him stode Quickbeam, a lean white-silver she wolf. They were a pair, a duo, inseperable since they had met two years ago. They heard snarling, then peace. Curious, the two headed toward the clearing. They saw other wolves feeding but had no desire to join. Thier bellies were full.

Winter stood as the two wolves appeared in the frozen vegetation along the clearing. Her head cocked to one side with curiousity but like with the other wolf, her front paws were placed on the deer carcass, warning them that they had to ask for her permission to eat.

Silverfang again smelt two more new scents and look up. More wolves, two, came up on the top of the hill. Silverfang couldn't help noticing that there was eenough wolves to form a pack and that, if they did, they already had a couple to lead. But she thosed the thought away just as her pup came from the back of the cave and jumped on top of her head. The other wolves looked at her and now she hoped they understood her caution. The pup fell from the top of her head and fell onto the snow below. She licked his head as he yelped at the cold chill in the air.

Winter watched the pup and her eyes light with understanding. Now it made sense. She trotted over to Silverfang and pressed her muzzle to her neck in friendship, having forgotten the brief dispute between the two.

Silverclaw bounded up to Winter and nuzzled her, then leaped away just as quickly in a coy manner. Now that his former companion was dead, he needed a new mate.

Silverfang bowed to her in a way and nuzzled her back in friendship. The pup barked and played with Winters tail as it sung back and forth. Then, not to far from where the wolves where, a twig snapped. Silverfangs head shot up, but her brain thought it was just another wolf. The rest of the 'pack' grew quiet, nonetheless.

Yet the smell in the air was not the same. The wind seemed to stop blowing and the worlded seemed darker. A small clink could be heard in the distance. Silverfang stood, stepping politely in front of Winter and in front of her pup. Her ears where up with curiousity as the terrible happened.

Wthout a moment's hesitation, a loud popping sound could be heard and then something whizzed through the air, like a bird flying to quickly. Silverfang felt a sudden pain, a terrible pain, and she yelped loudly in pain and horror. All the wolves knew that sound all too well. That whizzing sound...was a gunshot. Silverfang moaned for her pup to run as her blood could be seen on her white coat and the snow. But the pup was running around in circles, unsure of what to do with all the wolves running away. He pawed at his mother, who had stopped moving, and he barked quietly as footsteps could be heard coming near and the sound of a gun re-loading filled the forest.

Winter was a bit surprised at with the male wolf. Nevertheless, her ears perked up and her tail lifted. She leapt over towards him and gently nuzzled him.

BANG!

Her head snapped in Silverfang's direction at the sound. Her eyes widened and her ears flattened. Her tail went in between her legs, showing her fear of men. Her eyes flickered to the white wolfess laying on the ground and the pup remaining. She ran forward and gave Silverfang a sympathetic look. With a growl towards the direction of the hunter's, she darted into the underbrush. She looked back at Silverclaw and indicated for him to follow.

She did not run far. The she-wolf darted underneath the roots of a tree, her coat blending in the snow that had fallen between the roots. The den was well hidden and if spotted, it smelled strongly of badger which meant if man had dogs, she probably wouldn’t be detected. From her hiding spot, she could also watch Silverfang.

Nightstorm growled and bolted, but Quicksilver hesitated. She saw the pup, and the dying mother. Quick as a flash she charged to the den. Nightbane halted. No time! he yelled. We have to go now! Quicksilver was almost to the den. A gunshot whizzed over her head, leaving a ringing in her ears. She had reached the den. Quickly she stuck her head inside and grabbed the pup by the scruff of the neck. No time to be gentle She thought to herself. Its okay, little one. I've got you. She spreinted back into the forest, Nightstorm at her heels.

Silverfand raised her head one last time to see Quicksilver grab her pup. In a way she smiled and then she laid her head down and howled low as the hunter could be seen.

The pup yelped as he was grabbed and had no clue what was happening to him.

Quicksilver raced as fast as her legs would carry her. Even with the pup in her mouth Nighstorm had trouble keeping up. Finally they were far enough away that the air did not smell of humans and thier hunting sticks. Quicksilver dropped the pup as Nightstorm trotted up angrily beside her. What were you thinking? He yelled. You could have gotten killed. We must run from humans. Always run from humans.
Quicksilver bowed her head. And leave a poor defensless pup? I think not. I would rather die trying to help then fleeing like a coward.

The hunter looked around for anymore wolves before he claimed his price and left. The pup looked around nervously, not seeing his mother anywhere. Where is my mother? He asked the wolf who had picked him up.

He could smell a snow hare over the frost on his nose.He lowered his head low,beneath his shoulders and slowly walked forward the smell getting stronger.He leaped near a bush and a rabit jolted out from under it,Nightbane took off after it flinging snow into the air as he went ,the rebit zig-zagged and he had trouble following but soon made the fatal leap and sunk his claws into the rabbits hind-quarters,the soon following his fangs into its back.He dug hungerly into the tender meat of its back...((Anyone can join,it can be realistic like wolves gestures can be interpeted through out other wolf kind and we can have magically inhanced wolves or realistic))

Silverclaw yelped, his ears flattening and tail tucking between his legs in fear. He raced after Winter and crawled into the den beside her. His glittering left eye glared at the human hunter he left with Silverfang.

And like a surge of rage, the primal instincts of the pack incensed within him.

He leaped boldly from his hiding place, letting loose a feral howl. His howl carried to the frigid skies, calling the other wolves to the hunt.

Halting just before he left the clearing, the human snapped up his rifle to meet the enraged, former alpha male leaping at him with fangs bared.

The pup's head jerked up from the wolf that had saved him when he heard a long, low howl. He back away, not sure what it meant.

In the distance, Larka heard the same howl. Perking her ears up, she began to make her way towards the sound.
