~Lasbelingur~ wrote: Fun, now I won't be the only Ronian. Anyway, the reason why Ronians are so pale is because they get sunburned so bad when they're young that it scars their skin so much, the pigment of their skin never comes back.
That's interesting. Maybe that could be a ritual, that when a child reaches a certain age they are left out in the sun for a long time so that there skin is very badly burned. They develop scars that afterwards protect them from the sun, even though thier scars are pale.
I was also thinking that unless Rona is very cloudy, the temperature will dip well below 90 at night. It would probably be an average of 60 or 70 degrees at night. (Again, unless Rona is heavily covered by clouds that never dissapate) Maybe you could change the temperature at which they are negatively affected by the cold.

Both of those ideas are great. Maybe their homes have some kind of insulation that lets the warm air in during the day, then keeps it warm during the night, or we could change the temperature they can stand... What do you think?

Go crazy guys.
The plotting sounds awesome.
Just waiting for anymore bios to come in then we can get started.
Also I'll have to write the intro...
...That could take me some years. Ah well. TTFN.

I think that the insulation idea is a really good idea. We should keep that, but I think its might help to lower the temperature they can stand, because maybe the plot will lead our characters to board the ship, and the ship will probably be kept below 90 degrees. I was thinking that for them anything below 50 is frigid (what we would consider below freezing) and about 80 to 50 would be considered cold and be uncomfortable. They could also have a very, extremely difficult time coping with below freezing temperatures, to the point where they slow down sort of like a cold blooded animal.
What do you think?

Name; Kayne Rhydderch
Age; 32
Gender; Male
Character; Kayne is usually cynical, patronizing, and extremely sarcastic. He is also very intellegent and extremely competent. He enjoys his job immensely and is probably one of the best mechanics/engineers left on the station. One of the few times you can find him happy is when he is working on machenery.
Appearance; He usually wears dark, loose-fitting clothing and and expensive leather jacket. When he goes out, he usually wears shades that are completly blacked out so you can't see his eyes. He has a pronounced chin and cheekbones with a slightly thinner-than-average nose. His hair is brown and eyes a light gray. But, if you changed his hair colour, put on glasses and a fake mustache, most people wouldn't reconize him. Kayne has one of those completly normal faces that if you change one bit it makes him look like a completly different person to who he was.
Original Homeworld; Earth
Details of Homeworld; See Dark's first post
Misc; Almost Kayne's entire left half is metal. Many organs too are metalic. Nanobots course through his body, keeping his organic half from rejecting the carbon nanotube left half. Carbon nanotubes are stronger and more esistant to the elements than steel is. They also have a higher melting point and a lower freezing point. It isn't indestricutable, but it is very tough.
He's an ex-soldier, honorably discharged when a fellow SF soldier decided to blow himself up with a landmine and put enouh shrapnel (or 'internal body bling,' as people in the service call it) into his left half to render it useless. Kayne had come very close to dying, but the military had paid for his cyborg parts out of respect for his service record. He became a mechanic/engineer and is one of the best left on the station.

Sounds great, Nauriel.
Okay, everyone. The new temperature the Ronians can stand is 50 degrees or they have an extremely hard time moving, and act like a cold cold-blooded animal (as Nauriel said).

That sounds good. What about living underground? That would solve the hiding from the heat in the day thing, also the coldness at night.
Whatcha think?

Besides being scarred as a ritual, what do the Ronians look like?

Pale, short (like 5 ft. short), they have strange colored eyes (white, purple), and they're generally pretty/handsome. But you could protest against any of these and I'll change them, since I'm not the rp manager. I'm just making up things that sort of work.

I had no set plans for any races, other than humans. Which we can change to a certain extent, but not much.
My only realy plans were that they were massacred my psychopathic robots. Use your imagination, I'm not gonna tell you what to look like.
