The old Roman villa was crowded with people: in the garden, which was neatly kept, a long line of people had formed, all waiting impatiently to enter the mansion. They were all peasants or villagers, and some of them had come from far to hear Arthur ab Uther judge on their quarrels. Inside the hall where at night feast were held, the tables were shoved against the walls to make space for the crowd, only leaving Arthur’s chair in the middle of the room.
Long he listened to all the people’s stories, sometimes asking them for details and then eventually he settled the disputes. And even though he was patient and just Arthur was distracted. In his blue eyes shone worry as bigger problems troubled his mind. The man looked at his side and gestured Hywel, a young lad but one of his loyal servants, to come closer. Quietly Arthur asked him to close the doors and to tell the people to return home, deciding it had been enough for today. Hywel obeyed his master silently and quickly. The villagers left, some grumbling, and soon Arthur’s estate seemed to return to its seemingly peaceful state.
It was hours after noon, and the sun was already descending. Arthur was still inside, contemplating on the current situation. He felt defeated. Never had his rationality lost from his emotions…until he laid eyes on Guinevere. She had bewitched him; he loved her more than was imaginable. It had all seemed a dream, but he was swiftly shaken from his pink cloud when it became known that both Gundleus of Siluria and Gorfyddyd of Powys were assembling their armies. Rumours had even spread that Prince Cadwy of Isca joined, to assist them in avenging Arthur’s insult.
Arthur sighed and unbelted his girdle with his sheated sword: Excalibur. And has he lay down his sword he was decided. He would do everything in his power to restore the peace in Dumnonia and to unite it. It seemed very improbable at the moment now the countries were on the brink of a civil war but Arthur was a dreamer. He chased his dreams and tried to make them true.
"I will make things right Hywel.." Arthur said absent minded. "I will.." Hywel nodded and looked at Arthur with wonder. Apparantly did his master see light at the end of the tunnel, but Hywel couldn't see it. While Arthur was half living in a dream after marrying Guinevere, he had witnessed how the mood of the people had changed. They were confused with their leader. Hadn't they almost achieved peace and did he deliberately destroy it?
Hywel sighed as well. Whatever Arthur's plan was.. it had to be big. For dark times awaited them.

(( how old is Guinevere?))
Guinevere watched her husband from a chair off to the side. she watched how the troubles of other people troubled his own heart. she loved him, they were newly weds and Guinevere was at peace. she watched everyone leave and listented to their grumbles but ignored them. she watched her husband for a while and then got up and walked over to him. " my lord.." she said kneeling beside him and smiling up at him. " what troubles you?" she asked soothingly.

((Thanks))
Cadfan splashed his face with water, cursing as the frigid water hit his face. He had a pounding headache, but then, from what he remembered(sp) from the previous night, it was to be expected. He headed inside, plaiting his beard anew for the day.
His armour was stacked in a corner of the smoky room, the inside of a sod house that formed his quarters. The hilt of his sword, as it always seemed to be these days, was protruding from under his pillow, the steel glinting in the ember's light. He sniffed hard and noticed that his nose was still paining. Cursing again, he dressed in a tunic and trews, then belted on his sword. He donned his warrior rings in a buisnesslike manner, on the first joints of his fingers as deterrent to fighting the hungover mercenary.
Mixing a bowl of crused woad with water from the local stream, Cadfan renewed his tattoos and stepped outside. He had a job to aquire.

[ Lady_R. - It is said in the book that she's still quite young, but so is Arthur.
I'm going to wait until everyone had some time to introduce their characters before I post again ]

Sir Galahad sat in his room, looking out the window sadly, thinking about his future in his career. He seemed sadder than usual and this was not like him.

((My apologizes for never getting my OC's bio up! He is going to be Gawain's apprentice, if you do not mind, Will! Here is his bio:
Name: Alec de'lacarete Gender: Male Race: Human Siblings: None Parents: Unknown (but he is the nephew of Gawain) Age: 17 Hair: Dark Brown Eyes: Light silver Appearance: He has shaggy dark brown hair that covers his eyes slightly - his eyes always throw people off by their color, but other than that, he is a normal boy of 17 who wants to help Arthur. Gawain offered to take him in when Alec's parents died, although he never knew of them or meet them.
And here is my actual post - ))
Two men, - well, a man and a boy, - rode into the villa, its Roman style dominant. The older, riding on his brown steed with grace and pride, was known as Gawain, and he grinned as his eyes scanned the familiar sites of the place he always considered his home. He nodded his head to a few residents that he knew as his horse slowed to a trot as he entered through the gate. Glancing back to make sure his companion was still with him, he wove through the streets slowly as many people left from Arthurs home, as Gawain assumed. He savored this "half-peace" moment, as it were, for he feared it would not be so for much longer.
Gawain's nephew and companion, Alec, followed his uncle hastely, trying to hold in his nervousness. He did not ride with his uncles' grace nor pride, for this was the first time he had entered a city in that part of the land - and one with such splendor, at that. He kept his head low, trusting on his young, black mare to follow Gawain's, his hair covered his eyes, thankfully. No need to attraction attention on the first day of "official" training! His uncle told him, and Alec heeded his words, following him wordlessly to the stables just outsides Arthurs estates. He sighed inwardly, praying that everyone would work on in his favor.

(I'm sorry, but I'm still a bit confused as to about the time this is taking place. I am trying to figure out whether Nimue has lost her eye already. I put it in there, but if this is before I'll edit it.)
The day had just broke when the woman arrived. A gray light filtered through the large boughs and leaves that shaded the highway, creating a dappled pattern on the road. The calm look of the terrain did nothing to assuage the woman's current state. It was the calm before the storm - she knew that.
The woman had traveled all night, yet she still was not weary. To those of her nature the air was tinged with foreboding, crackling with the news of a war to come. Her body fed off the nearly imperceptible energy about her.
Nimue was furious - it seemed to be happening a lot these days. Plans were falling all around her like saplings during a harsh storm, and the Merlin was no where to be found. It was just like him - he'd come at the last minute when nearly all hope was lost...
'That will be soon,' her conscience reminded her and for some reason the thought soothed her. Dam.n it all! She shouldn't be placing her faith in such men - it had only led to disaster.
Nimue cursed again, and shook her head in annoyance only to find that such a move skewed the headwrap over her eye - it had not quite healed enough to put in a replacement.
Men (they seemed to be her largest problem). She should have been stronger than that. She was the Lady of the Lake! A priestess of the Summer Country! No man should have been able to over power her so - make her fear. Her head jerked up proudly at the thought; she did not feel fear, only fury.
'No matter,' her mind soothed, 'I will unmake even his soul before this is all over.

[ Mae- I loved your post! Nimue actually lost her eye already like you wrote, which was Gundleus doing. If you need any onfo on the time period, please pm me
Raivyn- Hm, I'm not sure.. In the book Merlin was looking for the Wisdoms of Britannia to restore Britannia to its former glory.. but he could also be an advicer of Arthur.. Whatever you think is good
Lady R.- I have not yet had the time to reply to your pm but I will as soon as possible ]
Arthur looked in Guinevere's eyes and lay his hand on hers. "My conscience troubles me.. I should act for the wellbeing of the people instead for that of my own.. I do not deserve to lead them.." The grimace in his young face softened somewhat as he looked again in Guinevere's eyes and for a moment he thought that he would drown in their green seas. No he thought Whatever was to happen, with Guinevere at his side, he would never be unhappy..

Guinevere kissed her kings forehead. " my love you are right. but you are only right on the fact that you should act on their well being. you were chosen to lead these people Arthur, you are their king, they trust and look up to you. you cannot give up now." she said looking deep into his eyes. her serious expression turned to a smile and she laced her fingers through his and stood up. " all will be well." she said smiling.
( okay will it's cool just when ever you can )
