I haven't forgotten either. Like I told SG, I'm going to be crazy busy through this Friday, but then I'll have so much free time that I'm not going to know what to do with myself. So a bio is coming - just probably not until this weekend. :)

Sorry I didn't post that! I thought I mentioned it in the big post at the beginning. :/ Very sorry. Anyway, here it is (I'll go post it at the start of this thread):

The deadline for character bios is Saturday (May 16) evening. We will begin RPing soon afterwards.

Sorry if I'm dragging it out... I'm trying to fit everyone's schedules, and I'm still waiting for an invite 'yes' or 'no' from Tur. We'll see how it goes.

Okay, my favorite way to do this is to make the bio really brief and add details as I go. Hence, this is short.

Name: Jada Cobaltin
Age: 25
Race: A desert-dwelling nomadic people
Gender: female
Mercenary: due to current circumstances, yes
Appearance: Uniformly dark skin and dark hair. Tall, angular figure; practical garb.
Weapons: Scimitar and hunting knives
History: It's boring if I just tell you :P

here be my bio... for now. I'll probably fix it up later. I was gonna send it to you, SG, before I posted it but I sorta ran out of time, I guess.

Name: Ackerley
Age: 23
Race: Human. From a well-settled, quiet, small village/region
Mercenary: Yes
Appearance: Pic #1 Pic #2 Pic #3
Somewhat short (not shoulder length but around that area (longer then it is in the pictures)) dark hair, dark blue eyes, 5’ 9” tall, his clothes consist of whatever is simple and easy to put on and move around in, mostly his clothes are earthy toned. Browns, dark greens, dark colors in general. It matches the region he came from.
Personality: …that’ll come later…
Weapons: one long sword, two daggers.
History: The second oldest of 5 children, Ackerley was lucky to have a fairly simple life in a simple place. He grew up in a small house in a meadow filled with stately, old oak trees which he spent long hours fake-sword fighting under with his older brother. Ackerley’s father and mother were poor but they did the best they could for their children. Ackerley continued to grow up in relative comfort with the only thing he really loved or had - his family. However, after his father and brother had to leave them to find work and food during a hard famine things changed for him. He was the man of the house now and he had to look out for his sisters and mother. Over a few years the famine worsened and he watched his family break under the tremendous weight of no food and poor conditions. The once lush, beautiful village and land they lived on dried and withered. His mother passed away shortly after he turned nineteen and news reached him and his remaining three sisters that his brother had disappeared while on the job miles and miles and miles away. They never learned any more about their missing brother. Ackerley‘s father never made it back to his four remaining kids. His body was found beside the road several months after they recieved news of their brother's disappearence. Nothing more is known about how the father passed. Devastated, the four kids decided to leave their home and ruined land. The four of them traveled on the dusty, barren road for days, getting worn down and hungrier by the miles. Each place they stopped at seemed to be worse off then the one before it. Finally, Ackerley and the remainder of his family reached a town where he found some work and rented a small cottage and tried to begin a new life. Over a few years and through a round-about way Ackerley ended up searving the king. His work for the king, however, wasn’t the most desirable in the kingdom (depending on who you asked), though it wasn’t your ordinary job either. And that position was mercenary.
*subject to change... just a little* ;)

(That's totally my cousin's last name, PD :teehee:)

Name: Brendon
Age: 31
Race: Human
Mercenary: Yes
Appearance: Longish dark hair, blue eyes, average height/build
History: Brendon was apprenticed to the village healer early on and became fairly proficient at the art. Somewhere along the way, he figured out that there was more money in killing people than keeping them alive.
Skills: Can adequately defend himself with a blade, but prefers a more hands-off approach to killing. Extensive knowledge of healing techniques, but it'll cost you.

ACK! I just broke my own deadline! [insert epic facepalm here] :duh: I'm so very sorry... I've been a bit preoccupied the past few days... I won't bore you with the details. Anywho, yes, we will start ASAP. I will post a kick off of the RPG as soon as I can.

Okay! A few last things to clear up before we get started. I don't want to shed to much light on our baddie, but for good measure, I'll throw in a small bio:

Name: Sarasin
Age: Exact age unknown. Approximated age is 35 years.
Race: Human/Fairy hybrid.

Next up for quick bios is the King!

Name: Edhred
Age: Around 55 or so.
Race: Human

And lastly, the Princess.

Name: Celisse
Age: 18
Race: Human

Physical appearances/personalities/histories for these characters will be developed over the RPG. I am playing the bad guy, but as for the king and princess, anyone who would like to play them can. I will if no one else wants to.

A note I may or may not have mentioned (I forget!) is that yes, romance is allowed. And if you like, anyone with a guy charrie can even have the role of wooing the princess. Lol.

Tur still hasn't responded to the invite, but, should she respond, we might squeeze her into the game sometime. ;)

I'm off to work on the first post as soon as I finish this one. Let the games begin! :D :D :D

((Sorry if this turns out to be a double post. ))

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caerin glanced around the dim-lit room, taking in the mix of characters present. Some were richly dressed, others looking less than noble in appearance. The funishings around them, though indeed part of the castle, look less than kingly in appearence. The men and women who had been called here sat casually on floor cushions which were strewn around the room in no particular arrangement or theme, and torches gave the only light to the room. Only a single velvet-lined chair sat near the obvious front of the room - this was where Caerin assumed the King would be seated, whenever he arrived to speak to the hodge-podge mix of mercenaries.

Though Caerin stayed constantly wary of those around him, he knew that they were here under a unified purpose - what that purpose was, he was unsure. He fingered the royal seal that dangled by a ribbon from the piece of parchment rolled in his hands. The King had summoned him here - and no doubt done the same for all of the rest in the room. He wondered if any of the others felt as unsure as he did. Before he could ponder the subject any longer, however, a door opened and a robed, escorted figure walked proudly into the room. It was the king.

----------

"Gentlemen." The King said in a deep, regal voice. He turned his eyes to the women in the room. "Ladies." He said kindly. "As you well know, I have summoned all of you here on strict orders to come alone and in secrecy. What you don't know, and what I am now telling you is this: you are now, as should you consent, part of a secret fellowship I have organized for a very important purpose." The King paused here. "A purpose that I take none too lightly. A purpose for which I have enlisted the help of some of the most skilled hands and minds in all of Edensvale and beyond - your help. You see," The King glanced around the room, his steady gaze fixing itself onto that of every soul present. "My daughter, Princess Celisse, has been abducted."

------------------------------------------------------------------

((A pretty sucky start. My writing skills could stand for a polishing.

At any rate... LET THE RPG BEGIN! *cuts big ribbon* :D :D :D))

((Yay! *runs through ribbon as SG cuts it*))

To say that Dolores was ticked off would be an understatement. She would have rather been anywhere but here. She could be out earning her living but no! Instead she was here because of some summons. Now she was waiting. The nerve! Just because he was the kind didn't mean he got to keep people from their lives whenever he felt like it.

Just when Dolores was thinking of sending a search party for the monarch, the king appeared. He better have a good reason for calling her.

"Gentlemen. Ladies. As you well know, I have summoned all of you here on strict orders to come alone and in secrecy. What you don't know, and what I am now telling you is this..." Will you get on with it! "you are now, as should you consent, part of a secret fellowship I have organized for a very important purpose." Okay, a little more interesting. "My daughter, Princess Celisse, has been abducted."

Dolores about fell from the wall she was leaning on.
You've got to be kidding!" Noble brats got abducted all the time all other the land. He'd called a secret meeting of mercenaries for this? Complete waste of my time and talent.

(Yay!)

Alitith leaned against a pillar, her eyes roaming around the crowd that gathered in this hall. Her face was passive, relatively emotionless. Years of self-exile could do that to a face. All the better, as behind that facade, her brain was running furiously. Observing this, analyzing that. The lack of light proved to have its benefits and drawbacks. Primarily the appearance of anonymity. She couldn't see the people around her clearly, but neither could the people see her clearly. She could feel a sense of impatience stir inside her and furiously beat it down. She's a Hunter. Or rather, was one. She shouldn't let impatience take over.

When the king arrived, Alitith quickly studied his face in the dim lights, noting the creases and lines in his face that were not brought by age. No, they came from days of stress and worry. But from what? she wondered. Quietly she listened as the king announced, "My daughter, Princess Celisse, has been abducted." At first, she speculated at the necessity of the secrecy, but reasoned that he did not want the abductors to know about his plans. But why use a band of mercenaries, whose loyalties were, at best, questionable.

The large cavernous room where Fen sat amidst several strangers was dark and gloomy. Well, at least to human eyes. Fen had abondoned that human fraility, using his shifting power to shape his eyes into that of a cat's. He glanced around the room, a nonchalant grin plastered on his face. He looked to be a cocky soul, and indeed he was, in only the most quiet way possible. As much as he wanted to make a scene, shout some obscenities and laugh at this whole situation, he was in working mode. All boisterous cumpulsions were quickly shoved away into silence. He was a simple observer, quietly watching this peculiar situation unfold. This seemed like such an unusual job, like a band of warrios on some sort of epic quest. As silly as this job may seem, Fen was intrigued. These past few years had held little excitment, and he was itching to really unleash his talent.

Bren waited for the king to say more. He needed their help, the princess had been captured and...what? Even the best tracker could not work with nothing but the knowledge that someone was missing. They would need to know when she had disappeared, who was suspected, and most importantly, how much they would be paid. Obviously it was important to the king, if he'd been willing to contact mercenaries instead of his own soldiers.

Seconds ticked away as the king allowed his words to slowly soak in, and the room's occupants appeared content to continue staring mutely. It was typical of those with power, Bren observed dispassionately, to draw out even the most urgent information solely because they could. The king could keep them in this room all day, if he wished.

"With all respect due, Your Majesty," he said mildly, breaking the silence, "it would seem that a little more information may be in order."

(gah, I am so, so nervous! )

Ackerley felt as if he was just about the only one in the room actually sitting down. Perhaps that wasn't what these cushions were placed on the floor for? Nervously he stood back up and looked around to see if anyone was staring at him. Thankfully, no one was. There were bigger, more important things on everyone’s mind. Well, that and the fact that the room was dim enough so it was hard to see what the other people were doing anyway. He turned his gaze back to the only chair in the room and shifted his weight to his other foot. It seemed as if the king was taking forever to come in and tell them why he had summoned them. Curiosity gnawed away at Ackerley. He was about to let out a long sigh but caught himself as the king entered. He straightened a little and gave his Majesty his full attention. After the king fell silent Ackerley had to let the news sink in. He furrowed his brow and thought over the situation. The king’s daughter had been abducted, hm? And he was organizing a secret fellowship? With these people? This would certainly be an interesting job.
