Sonia sighed and reflected Rosa's kind words. Sonia was sure she meant every word, but her self-conciousness would not allow her to be reassured. Her mind was so unfocussed lately. The coming year was to be the most important. The most difficult and the one that would no doubt be the most filled with stress and struggle.
I have to make it through. she thought and returned to her work, just wishing the class would be over.

Mitzi frowned and stuck out her bottom lip in an over dramatic way of sympathizing with the Klingon. Her voice, however, remained happily pitched.

"That's such a pity," she responded. "Who ever would do that?" She asked innocently enough, her gray eyes drifting upward as she spoke.

Dh'Varnn's reaction to her presence was certainly entertaining. She'd never anything with a Klingon before, and by this time all humans would be tripping over themselves trying to come up with good lines to keep her attention.

Set 1: Nurr | Set 2: Me

Dh'Varnn tensed as his mind wandered to the instigator, "Ryan McArthur" was all he could muster amidst the grunts and growls. He was everything Dh'Varnn did not see himself as.
Handsome, Popular, Charismatic, Successful.
Anyone who didn't know him well would presume Dh'Varrn's problems stemmed from jealousy. Which wasn't the case at all.

Dh'Varnn hastily stood up, all his efforts to remain calm and rational were failing. He paced like a caged animal, every muscle in his preparing itself for an outburst of aggression. Not even thoughts of Sonia seemed to relax him as they usually did, this concerned him.

Roza then turned her attention back to her work and the lesson with a soft sigh. She then stopped. Her focus slid. Roza instantly recieved a strange feeling that her friend Mitzi was skipping class again. She was not surprised. Mitzi was an Orion, after all. Roza gave a faint smile and then returned to her work, she would find her friend later.

The class seemed to drag on for an eternity, thought Sonia. The bell to signify the end of the lesson sounded. Sonia was visibly relieved as she began to close down the computer console of all her data. She felt a presence loom over her. Almost afraid to look up, she picked up her bag from the shiny white floor and as she stood up to leave.
"Please sit down Cadet Reyes" came the cold voice of Professor T'Val.

Sonia sighed and slumped back into her chair, watching all the other cadets gradually leave for break. this isn't gonna be fun she thought to herself as she waited on her lecture.

"Your tardiness must end Cadet Reyes, if you are to succeed in my class and the others you are studying." she just came right out with it, as Vulcans usually did.

"I know" Sonia tried her best to be defiant, but it was useless. She knew T'Val was right. "I am doing my best Professor. I promise I'll be on time from now on." she smiled trying vainly to appeal to her teacher.

"Yes, you will." T'Val handed Sonia a small clear data crystal. "I want this report back to me in 7 days. Consider it your punishment for your latecoming today." and without another word Professor T'Val went back to her station.

"Right" Sonia groaned and made her way into the halls. She had to find her Klingon friend. Make sure he'd into got himself into any trouble.

The bell rang to end the class. Dh'Varnn barely even noticed it in his heightened aggressive state. The students all came bundling outwards, most of the males ogling Mitzi on the way past. Professor O'Brien came out at the back of them and looked over at Dh'Varnn.
"A word please" then he looked down to see the Orion girl slouched against the wall. "Is there a reason you're here?" he asked casually.

Roza gave a happy sigh as the bell rang and ran off to find Mitzi. Her smile faded as she found Professer O'Brian talking to Mitzi and a Klingon, who looked faintly familiar. "Oh dear..." she murmured and braced herself to watch her friend charm her way out of this.

Mitzi watched Professor O' Brien with bright grey eyes. The way his movement changed from professor to comfortable male was almost ridiculously noticeable. So, unable to help herself, the Orion woman decided to do a little good deed for the day and help out her new friend.

The woman stood up and languidly stretched for a moment before answering. A pretty pout on her face whilst looking up at the man through her lashes, trying her best to look appropriately awkward.

"Oh dear...I hope it's not a problem Professor," she muttered while shuffling a foot against the door.

"I just saw Dh'Varnn here and had a question about one of our classes. He's so clever," she said in a bit of a higher pitch. "So nice of him to help me on that technique for rendering someone unconscious. I was have such trouble. Turns out it was just my not using my shoulders correctly!" She continued, now standing closer to Dh'Varnn and giving him a 'go with it or you'll blow it,' look.

"Isn't that funny? Anyway," she said waving her free hand having slipped her other arm through Dh'Varnn's intent on leading him off. "he's offered to walk me to class. How gentlemanly, and we really have to go. You wouldn't want me to be late. Would you?" Her last question seemed plaintive like she might burst into tears if he answered wrong.

Dh'Vharnn stood there awkwardly as Mitzi snaked her arm around his, giving Professor O'Brien some made up tale all the while batting her eyelashes and being every inch the Orion female. O'Brien flustered, trying not to fall for her charming trap. But it was useless.
"No, no problem" he smiled warmly at her, "I can talk to Dh'Varnn another time. You go on and get to your next class."

Sonia hurried down the corridor, not paying any attention other than finding her Klingon friend. As she made the corner, she bundled straight into another cadet.
"Watch it Reyes!" the voice snapped at her, waking her from her objective.
She looked up at the handsome face of Ryan McArthur and rolled her eyes.
"Sorry" she smiled, a twinkle in her eye "I couldn't get past your massive ego"

"Laugh it up now Reyes. One of these days you'll be working for me when I have my own ship" he smirked at her smugly, so full of himself.

"The day I get a station under your command, is the day I resign my commission." Sonia jabbed back smiling to herself and turned her back on Ryan and made her way down the corridor to where Dh'Varnns' class was. Her face fell when she saw him linking arms with a beautiful Orion girl. She recognised her face, she was occasionally in some of there classes together. Never bothered with him before and now she's all over him she felt herself seething inside her head. Taking a deep breath she continued walking towards them, trying to contain her surprise.

Roza rolled her eyes, clearly amused. When Mitzi started to lead Dh'Varnn away, Roza blinked, jumped and then followed after her friend, not noticing Sonia follow them. Smiling curiously, she bounced up next to her friend, "Hi Mitzi! What was that all about?" She looked at her friend with her warm, friendly, curious smile and then quickly flashed a smile at Dh'Varnn, "Hi."

Sonia stood awkwardly, not sure if she'd even been seen by anyone. Dh'Varnn was obviously very distracted by his attractive green skinned companion.
How can I compare to that? she thought to herself sadly, before realising the thought that entered her head. What the hell?" she exclaimed aloud unintentionally then shuffled off in the opposite direction mortally embarassed at her outburst.
