"C'mmon, lets go..." Megli urged quietly "Lt's get out of here." He picked at his robes uneasily. Rhan held the mans gaze. "Then the men of the north shall be hunted down." she said strongly.

Zarlak suddenly halted his men with a smile on his face or at least it reminded one, he looked at the humans for awhile and then again at few figures his sharp eyes had seen. He turned back to the humans and looked at them all, women, children hiding behind their men. He drew his shortsword making the hole group jump and pointed it at them.

"I am the ruler of the lands beyond and if you even try to pass trough them then my men have the right to open fire, I will not allow you scums passing trough my lands to my enemies lands and say anything about mine... those who dare to pass here will have an arrow in their flesh and those who are cowards, but wise cowards may pass my lands taking the long way, but it will be safer than trough our lands!"

Zarlak declared loudly and then put his sword away, he nodded towards few figures by the woods and then patrol procceeded towards them. His suspisions were comfirmed, they were elves and one seemed like a man or so he thought. Zarlak made a slashing command with his hand and the patrol spreaded to create a half circle as they approached the three. They stopped their horses about 10 feet away from the elves and Zarlak leaned forwards on his horse.

"Well.... two elves.. and a human... what a happy coindicence..."

Zarlak hissed.

The King swore, he was after all only young by the elven counting. Their horses shied, and backed away a little. "Well well, look. An over grownpiece of snake peeling." Rhan shot back, notching an arrow. Megli made an exasaperated noise, and moved forward in front of his sister, hidind her from view "Appologies lord."he said shortly "She is young, she doesnt understand much of war... Let us start this fornmaly, Greetings my lord, whoever you may be. I am King Megli of the Dark elves.

Zarlak hissed quietly.

"A king you say? Well if we are being so formal then I gues it is my turn, I am Zarlak the Warlord of my people and I am here to deliver a warning to you king..."

Zarlak pressed the word king with a tone of mockery, he looked at his men for a while before continuing.

"Those human refugees are trying to go trough my people`s lands and that is not going to happen, if they try they will die and that goes for your people too king. Funny that my men actually caught some high elves sneaking trough my lands and brough them to me... the man just stared at me as I slammed his face into order all tough the man had still something to lose... is it pride or stupidity that drives you elves to such things? and if you are stupid then that might explain why the dark elves have been beaten big time..."

Zarlak laughed clearly enjoying the events and state of the surrounding kingdom`s.

Reyas's bent head shot up. His eyes flared, his mouth twisted into a feral sneer. For a moment he was all for launching himself at the lizardking and slitting his throat then and there. A cold trickle of pragmatic calculation, long bred into him during the days when his cunning and skill alone kept him alive among his own people, wriggled into his mind. The blood-haze faded, he thought clearly once more.

The refugees were terrified but grimly holding their ground. Their pale faces shone in stark contrast against the green scales of the lizardmen, but they didn't back down. These were people who had witnessed war, fought for their freedom, watched their loved ones die. They stared up at the lizardking in wary defiance.

Reyas's hand crept to the jeweled hilt of his shortsword. Jewels. Pointless, really. The memory of a high status in a time long gone. He would fight to the death, but for his own life, not defending the lives of these short-lived humans who meant nothing to him.

"If I wished to pass through your lands I highly doupt you could do anything about it." Jax informed the lizardman War Lord in a sirious tone.

"But I have no need to go that way as of yet. So I supose your safe." Jax said running his finger down the edge of his sword.
