Alessandra falls into a gallop, riding easily along the roads, her braided hair flying behind her. She loves the feeling of her bay in front of her. Then she sees the forest ahead.
(how about introducing a baddie)

(A bad guy?..... I'm not so good with those.... Besides, I don't know the plot of the Darkover books.....)
Mira vaults onto Feanar and wheels the horse around to follow Alessandra. Feanar catches up quickly, then remains neck and neck with the bay....
