Ladeos ducked, but had his back battered with the rocks, lucky for him the assasins were out and few of the remaining elementals attacked Denaris as Ladeos cast a quick spell launching a huge spidre web towards Denaris as the elementals attacked Denaris.

Denaris's waterstorm tore the webs to bits and rushed across the cavern towards Ladeos.

"What, don't like me complimenting the rocks?" he taunted.

An elemental swarmed over him. He deflected its abilities before he found himself surrounded by many more. He conjured a two-dimensional blade that sliced into a few of them. The others knocked him to the ground. As he scrambled for a footing, he shot a wall of energy outward from himself that blew half the elementals away. The rest of them were closing in however, and so was the dragon....

Ladeos jumped forwards as the elementals began pounding the mage and soon he got his claws to grab the mage, he pushed him to the ground with his claw, but didn`t kill him. He kept enough weight on the mage that he couldnt move and would have a hard time breathing.

"Do you now find anything to say Denaris second of the council?"

If this was to be his last moment.... He shook his head. Ladeos had beat him. And he was to die. It looked as if the Archmage would get his wish after all. And at least he wouldn't die by the Archmage's hand.

The dragon's claws dug painfully into his chest. He gasped for breath and managed a last grim smile.

"Lameo, my friend... you have really got to do something about that breath of yours."

Wincing at the pain and still maintaining what he knew to be his infuriating smirk, he tensed and awaited his impending doom.

"You know what Denaris... I am not going to kill you yet, but enjoy you suffer.."

The elementals approached and grabbed denaris chaining him, they took all of his scrolls and anything that was magical or dangerous even his dagger. The elementals chained him into a wall as Ladeos returned to his position next to the treasure and placed his wing over them once again.

"Now you are going to talk unless you want to suffer the same fate as that mage friend of yours..."

For his part, Denaris wasn't sure if he preferred life to humiliation. A few of his powerful spells needed no spell components, but he was hardly in a state to cast them at the moment. He tested the strength of his chains. It didn't hurt to experiment. Even in his condition he considered struggling beneath him so he stiffened and waited for the dragon's next words.

Cayo arched his back so the elf fell gently to the floor. He sat the like a sphinx staring at what was happening passivly, and with little intressed, his head gently nudged the unconcius elf between his front legs, curling his tail close, and folding his wings sm,aller.

"And don`t think of casting any spells because my elementals are watching and I guess I have to make sure that you won`t destroy them.."

Ladeos tookout an artifact made out of silver, it was in the form of a small statue with few diamonds on it and one rune on it. Ladeos placed it near Denaris, but away from his reach. Ladeos said few words and the small statue began glowing an orange light that was nearly un-noticable.

"There that will dispel all the magics in the area that you are in..."

Ladeos returned to his place and looked at Denaris again.

"Now... as you think that I have the artifact that you were searching then you might tell me what it was like... but you of course are far more self disceplined... whom was the other mage?"

Denaris looked for a witty reply, a biting insult. He came up with nothing. Ah, well. It was bound to fail him someday.

"A most loyal friend of mine," he said wryly, "sent to kill me."

Ladeos grinned as he scrathed his neck with a bored face.

"Now in exhange for your life or at least some part of t you wouldn`t mind telling me what you were looking for and why?"

If it had been in his nature, Denaris would have snorted at the promise of his life. It was what no sensible person - even less a black dragon - would do.

"An artifact," he replied simply and shrugged. "The Archmage apparently finds it below him to impart details to his underlings." He paused, then added because he had nothing to lose, "What is the artifact? The Archmage mentioned you wouldn't be able to resist its magic, yet here you stand."

"hmh.. I wouldn`t be able to stand it`s magic... well it isn`t here anymore I can tell you that because my mother had her minions steal it..."

Ladeos smiled grimly.

"So you should have gone to her as I already told you..."
