"Hullo, brother!' Shade said and smiled, but went he saw his face full of concern, he frowned. "We found these by the river, just down the valley. They remind me of..." Then, Shade's egg became to wingle in his hands. He quickly kneeled and put it on the ground, watching it intently. The egg rocked back and forth, cracks appearing on the some red surface. Then, CRACK! The egg blew into about a hundred pieces and Shade covered his head. He looked down at a small baby dragon that struggled to stand. He smiled at her. "Look at you..." He muttered and then looked up at his brother. "What do you make of this, Calrohir?" He asked and then looked back down at the dragon. The dragon's light blue eyes looked up curiously at him and he grinned. Falcon just stood in awe.

Aye, Orlinos, lets do!
The dragon flew faster, soon hovering over the group of hunters and their dragons. Orlinos flew high enouph to be mistaken for a bird...

Shade countiuned to look at the baby dragon. He reached his hand out and she nuzzled his hand. His hand burned, but he didn't pull back, but he did jerk a little. The dragon looked at him and asked him,
Did I hurt you, Shade?
You can mindspeak! So, what I heard was true... Shade shook his head. He looked down and asked her,
So, what is your name?
You may call me Elendi.

On the outskirts of Ellesmera, within earshot of the few dwellings among the thinner trees there, there arose a clamor, the likes of which startled any who heard. It was roaring, akin to that of dragons..dragons roaring with laughter!

"Oh, shut it, you scaly windbags!" came the irritated shout from a very disgruntled looking young man. Dark hair hanging down in his face, it effectively covered the slight flush of his cheeks.

Along with the laughter of the two dragons was the clear, melodic laugh of a female elf, with waist-length, flaming red hair. "Don't be so irate with them, Rylin. I did warn you that you wouldn't win." she gasped between bouts of laughter. Held loosely in her hand was a slender two-handed sword, razor-sharp and glinting in the sun.

With a baleful look at the elf, Rylin pushed his hair back out of his face, enough to reveal a black ring around his eye, among several bleeding cuts elsewhere on his face, neck, and even his torso. With a grunt of annoyance, he sheathed the sword he held, a sword as sharp as the elf's, yet the blade was longer, in keeping with the height difference between the two of them. "Oh, you can talk, Aeryn. You've always been better than me, and you always will be."

With an almost derisive snort, Aeryn sheathed her sword, like Rylin had done, then straightened to her full height, which came to nearly a head shorter than Rylin. "Keep speaking like that, and it will be all too true."

Rylin then opened his mouth to make some retort to that, but froze as both of their dragons, one silvery-blue, and the other silvery-grey, finally fell silent. The very air seemed to be quivering from their withheld excitement, a fact that the elf and human were quick to take notice of.

Another dragon has been born! was the exclamation from both dragons to their Riders.

Rylin and Aeryn exchanged the quickest of glances, then each went to their respective dragon and mounted quickly, only to fly directly back to the main city. They had to relate this to the Queen, among others..

Elendi walked around and then ran into Calrohir's foot. She looked up and asked,
Who is this, Shade?
Oh, that's my brother, Calrohir.

Calrohir gasped as the dragon hatched right before his eyes. His surprise turned to mirth as he looked down at the baby dragon. She was only a little bit smaller than his own dragon, Adia.

Calrohir bent down beside his brother and the dragon. "Shade, I must tell you, I too have a dragon. She hatched for me almost to weeks ago. I have raised her in secret for fear of the wrong person finding out about her and hurting her." He reached out a hand to the baby dragon. "What's her name?" He knew that she would have told Shade that.

Raina watched, amazed, as the dragon hatched. She was surprised that it would happen so soon. Daishar, a dragon has just hatched. There was a moment of silence, and Raina knew that Daishar was thinking about the news. So soon? His astonished reply came finally.

Raina got close enough to hear the oldest of the three say that he too had a dragon. Interesting... Raina thought. What else? Daishar asked her. It seems there is another dragon. She looked at the third boy and his egg and added, And another will come soon if I am not mistaken.

She walked up to the three, ready to make her presence known. "Hello," she said, "That is a lovely young dragon. I haven't seen one in a while, aside from my own." She did not care to keep the fact that she was a dragon rider a secret. She did not get to socialize often with other riders, and she was excited that she was in the midst of three. "I am Raina, by the way."

Shade looked at his brother and smiled. "So that's why the mice have disappeard." He grinned. "Her name is ELendi..." He paused and said, "And she likes you." Then, he looked up at the stranger and jumped up. Elendi, what do you think of her? Elendi sniffed the air and said, She isn't a foe... Shade nodded and said, "My name is Shade. This is my friend, Falcon." Falcon nodded his head to her.

Calrohir continued to smile down at his brother and Elendi, but then he heard the young woman approach. He jumped to his feet beside his brothe, but then he relaxed somewhat when he saw that Shade didn't seem to see her as a threat.

"I am Calrohir," he told her. He still regarded her somewhat warily. "If you are a dragon rider where is your dragon?"

He reached out in his mind for Adia. Adia, he called to her, Come to me.

What is it? came the reply an instant later.

A dragon has just hatched for my brother, and I believe we have just met another dragon rider. He immediately sensed Adia coming closer.

"Hello, Shade. Falcon," Raina said when they introduced themselves. She went to her knees beside the dragon. "Elendi, you said her name was?" she asked. "She is very beautiful.

She laughed a little at what Calrohir said. He seemed not to trust her very much. "You don't believe me?" she asked. She looked around. There were not many people about. Daishar would be able to come to her without causing much of a fuss. "Fine," she said, "I will prove it."

Daishar, she called to her dragon, This one wants proof. Give it to him.

Of course, little one.

Raina smiled, thinking about what their reactions would be. She didn't think they would have seen a dragon the size of Daishar before. He was a full grown male dragon and definitely not small.

Moments later a very large dark green shape darkened the sky over their heads, and the flapping of wings could be heard. Daishar lowered himself to the ground in front of Raina, Calrohir, Shade, and Falcon. "This is Daishar," Raina told them, walking over to the big dragon and affectionately rubbing his side.

RIght after Daishar's appearance, more flapping wings could be heard, and another dragon, ruby red in color, landed in their midst. She was slightly larger than Elendi, but still much smaller than Daishar.

Calrohir stopped staring at the large green dragon in front of him and walked over to the red dragon. "THis is my dragon," he said, "Adia." He still couldn't help but stare at Daishar. He had never seen a dragon that big.

A mighty dragon, a little bit bigger than Thalua, obscured their view of the others on the groud for a little bit, then another dragon appeared.
It seems they're all riders. They wouldn't do us harm! Annalett thought to Thalua, and the dragon circled down, making her presence known...

Shade smiled at his brother and then at his dragon. "Your dragon is amazing, brother." Falcon nodded and then looked at the full grown male dragon. "Do they all grow to become that big?"

"I'm Annalett Kullbane, also a dragon rider! This is Thalua," she said wihtout hesitation...

Shade jumped back in surprise, as Falcon muttered, "So many dragon riders..." Then, Shade heard Elendi say,
Shade! Your friend is about to become one himself. Shade turned to tell Falcon but say that the egg was already cracking as Falcon just stared at it. Finally, it cracked open, just as Shade's had. Except Falcon's dragon, whom shook his body quickly to shake off all the smaller eggshell pieces, was almiost a spitting image of Saphira, except Falcon's dragon's scales where just a lighter blue. And he had silver eyes.

Falcon grinned at the baby and said, "And what do I call you?"
You may call me Silveryes. The dragon said, smiling at Falcon. Then, the baby looked around and saw all the other dragon's and their rider's
Well, there are a lot of people here. Silvereyes concluded, causing Falcon and Shade to laugh.

Mirima and her dragon Oriyson felt a new dragon being hatched and flew down to the place to find many dragon riders already there she walked up slowly to see of they were friend or foe
(does someone in the group of dragon riders want to be a friend of mine?)
