Miranda nodded and went into the house. A while later, they were all seated at a table, Miranda sitting next to Gabriel, and and awaiting Elizabeth's explanation.

Elizabeth was sitting next to Tavington, and she told what had happened over the past two months, how they had fallen in love, and a few other things.. "...Last night, Willam surprised me while we were heading here, and he proposed..."
SHe paused, "I accepted, as you can see." she said, revealing her right finger. Tavington smiled and Elizabeth sighed before saying, "We are hoping that WIlliam can be forgiven for what he's done against you, and that we have your blessings on our marriage."

Miranda sensed all eyes on her, and looked up, understanding why - her pardon was the most important. She sighed, and stood up, looking Tavington straight in the eye. "Mr. Tavington," she began, her voice strong as a rock, "I can never fully forgive you for my uncle's murder." She paused. "But," she looked at Elizabeth, "I can only ask you to take the best care of my friend Elizabeth."

He nodded, and said, "DOn't worry, I will...And I understand why not..."
Elizabeth knew that WIllam had tried to get Miranda's uncle out of the British' hands, but Cornwallis had been ahead of him and had executed the man.

Miranda heard a murmur of assent, and felt someone's hand on hers. She looked up to see Gabriel putting his hand on hers, and smiled softly.

She laughed and shook her head slightly. Tavington had seen it as well and he whispered in her ear, "Perfect match if you ask me." She slapped him on the shoulder playfully and then looked up as she heard hoofbeats coming toward the house.

Elizabeth did the same and her eyes widened when she saw around twenty people outside the house, being joined by more. She saw her cousin come up and he knocked on the door.
