Three soldiers of the kingdom ambushed him right at the entrance to the tavern. Mortality was out in an eyeblink. The first soldier, unhanded by Knyn's swift agility, suffered a death characterized by a quick loss of his head. But the other two soldiers were prepared. These were elite warriors of the kingdom, and not easily defeated.

The first came in, shield bashing, hoping to catch Knyn off-balance. The swordsman was too experienced for such tactics however. He ducked under the shield and went straight for the vents in the soldier's armor. He found one such opening at his enemy's armpit. He used the sheer weight of Mortality to drive the soldier back, before plunging his blade home.

He only hoped Raelin had taken care of the other one, as he hadn't the time to spin and parry again.

Raelin unsheathed his two spiked swords.. it was good to have them back in his hands.. it seemed he hadn't felt the familiar hilts in ages.. he pulled off his hood revealing red eyes and longer fang like teeth.. he restrained himself though, which was really hard, from turning bearserk since he might accidently kill Knyn in the proccess so he just stuck to killing the ones that escaped Knyn's sword.. and ocasionally taking a little blood out of them..

The soldiers were finished, but their troubles were far from over. They had to escape the area before the mages arrived. Not missing a beat, Knyn burst through the door of the tavern.

He noticed two things out of the ordinary. Firstly, all the occupants of the tavern seemed to be scared witless. Secondly, Turwaithiel and the Black Robe stood in the center, looking as if they'd just recovered from a battle.

"Ah, there you are!" the mage exclaimed. "It looks like you have had your.....fill, also."he chuckled to himself, looking at the Vampyre.

Raelin smiled his fangy smile at the balck robe and Turwaithiel.. and then he pulled back up his hood.. and said to Knyn "I think we missed something.."

"Well, shall we move on? I think we have outstayed our welcome here." he said. "I think it would be wise not to stay in the city."

"An entire contingent of soldiers after us, plus half a dozen mages," Knyn said flatly. He waited for the Black Robe to elaborate on their situation.

"I thought as much. Obviously the wraiths were concentrated on us."

Suddenly he heard the sound of a dozen swords sliding out of their sheaths. Soldiers stepped out from every conceivable entrance in the tavern. Knyn instinctively brought Mortality up.

That was before he caught sight of the mages.

"I congratulate myself on your capture," the apparent leader of the wizards stepped forward. "And now if you will come quietly..."

With a snarl, Knyn lowered his greatsword.

The mage smirked.

Quick as lightning, Knyn's hand whipped out from under his cloak, letting fly three shurikens. Each found their mark in the nearest soldier, who died without protest. He paid dearly for his defiance, for the next thing he knew, he caught a flash of lightning before his world went black.

As The soldiers advanced on the others, the Mage fell back, TOWARDS the other mages, and a black robed mage advanced on him and... said "Good work, Brother Black Robe." and bowed to him. "Anything for the good of the empire." Meneldor said, bowing in return.

Raelin glance from Knyn to the black robe.. he smirked and sheathed his two spiked swords.. then he stepped closer to Turwaithiel.. "it figures." he mumbled to himself.. breaking it blunt he said to the soldiers "So, what are you going to do with us? dungeon? personally i'm fine with that.. stocks? I've never been fond of tomatoes being thrown at me..but that's fine too.." he said a grin excaping his lips..

The mages directed a stunning spell at Raelin and Turwaithiel. The soldiers bound and gagged them, then herded their prisoners to the edge of the village, where a cage on wheels was pulled by a team of horses. They threw their captives inside and fell into line around the cage. The horses began moving forward.

The mage mounted a horse and rided with the other mages at the front of the wagon, talking and laughing with them.
