Kith snapped to attention as he heard some one yell "Kith, I think Raeven has been poisened!" Immediatly Mirrim ran over to the fallen woman. "I'll bring help." Kith shouted, though he wasn't sure they heard him. The shape shifter found Thane. "Raeven has been poisened, and she needs yourr help." He said quietly. Thane nodded, then trotted over to Mirrim. He found Mirrim outside Raeven's tent. "Mirrim!" He called, then walked closer so he could whisper. "If Raeven has been poisoned, there is a chance I can help." He murmured softly. "It would be dangerous though."

Mirrim looked surprised. "I just left her," she told Kith reassuringly. "I have every confidence she's going to be fine - though you can be sure I will keep your offer in mind."

(Just a note: she seems to be fine now, but she's really not. The poison in her system takes a while to actually start working..it's nasty stuff.)

Decian walked around the corpses of the battlefield, attempting to aid the rebels that were wounded. He heard someone said that someone had got poisoned. That didn't come to him as a surprise. Both goblins and trolls were famed for using poisons on their weapons. Sometimes their usual dull intelligence got a spark and they would combine poisons in order to make the poisoned harder to find an antidote. Fortunately though the Death Bringers knew every poison that the goblins used and better yet, their counter-agents. After interrogating the rebels, he found out that the person poisoned was a shapeshifter named Raeven and where she was lying. He made his way towards the tent and asked the two people near the opening, "Do you know what poison ails her?"

Vennir shooks his head,

"No, I don't think anyone here does... He looked over at Mirrim. "And I don't think that Mirrim thinks it to be fatal."

Thane smiled. "That is good." he nodded. "But I might be able to tell you what poisin infects her, if you want me to." He reassured. "Just to be on teh safe side."

"Of course, I would like to know," said Decian. "Normally goblins try combining poisons to confuse the healers as to which antidote to administer."

Merrin grinned ruefully. "I cannot call myself an expert on poisoning, of any kind," she admitted forthrightly. "If Raevyn is all right with it, of course you may - do whatever it is you do." She hesitated a moment, and than asked anxiously, "And would you mind very much having a look at Meleth, too? She - hasn't woken."

Thane nodded. "Of course I will look at her." He headed into the tent and found Meleth on a small cot. Sweat beaded on her forhead and her breath was ragged. He shook her gently, but she did not wake. He felt her forhead. It was hot with fever. "Fever already?" He asked. Looking quickly at Mirrim he whispered. "I think she too may have been poisoned. I will check. It takes concentration, so please do not disturb me." He took Meleth's hand and held it tightly. Breathe. He told himself silently. Focus. Breathe in, breathe out. Slowly he mentally entered Meleth's body. He flowed through her viens, was breathed in her lungs, churned in her stomache. It was a painstakingly tedious process. Complete mental devotion was nessesary. Finally when he had inspected every inch he withdrew back into his own mind. He lurched to the floor, suddenly weak with fatigue. He managed to struggle to his feet and find Mirrim. "How long have I been gone?" He asked. "She was poisoned. It is in her blood stream, from the weapon wound. I can't tell what poison, I just know it is there."

"Both of them are poisoned?" asked Decian. "Very well, I will need a small piece of either their blood or flesh to examine it. I can't give either of them the antidotes until I know what I'm battling." He then summoned a Death Bringer and ordered him to ride to their citadel and get the required equipment to examine the samples. "I'll need several minutes to prepare the samples and equipment but I think I can identify the poison. Unless of course, you have the goblin's weapons around?"

Thane grabbed a small vial. You can collect a blood samlpe, if you wish" He said. "Wth thier wounds it won't be hard."

Meleth's forehead creased in pain and she tossed restlessly, as though dreaming badly, but showed no signs of waking.

Merrin bit her lip. "I do have the sword that cut Raevyn, I think," she admitted, "but I think it was a troll's axe that wounded Meleth."
