Rilion, abruptly finding his gaze detached from Rosa's, suddenly found that he was not quite as infatuated as he'd thought. He looked around, a little disoriented - somehow he didn't remember much of what had gone on recently. And who was this person blocking his view of Rosa? He remembered her, of course...the lovely, enchanting Rosa...wait, enchanting? Rilion began to faintly suspect foul play.

Blinking dazedly, Rilion smiled vaguely at the top of Rosa's head, without much going on in his normally sharp-as-a-tack mind. His momentary lapse was gone and he was just as infatuated as he had been, which was no doubt Rosa's intention. But something did filter through - curse? "My lady..." he began, "Are you an enchantress? For I think it unjust to curse a man, indeed."

"An enchantress?" she asked with surprise, but it was already too late, "I can work spells yes, spells that would send you into an entire new world of plasure..."

"But also spells of a not so benign nature?" questioned Rilion. "Or how, then, could you curse this man?"

Jeral took a step backward, staggered at the audacity of this woman. For a moment he stood there, confused. And then his handsome face grew bold, and stepping in front of Diana, he drew he sword with a majestic... “Whooosh!”
“You will LEAVE her out of this!” he called boldly, stepping back up. “I won’t leave. I won’t leave our Prince to such as of your kind,” he said distastefully, still keeping his eyes away from her bewitching face.

She smiled and gave him a lingering kiss. "Dose it matter, he insulted my houner as a Lady, the curse is not hard to throw off."

"He insulted your...?" said Rilion, affronted, and turned to Jeral with an inexplicably apologetic air. "I fear I find myself obligated to challenge you to a duel, good sir, for inpugning the honor of a lady so fair as this."

“I insulted her...?”
Jeral steamed in anger for a brief moment, smoke almost pouring out of his ears. His eyes narrowed angrily, and his jaw set stiffly. “I am sorry you believe this lie. I would rather you listen to reasoning. But if not... I will indeed duel you; if but to keep you away from this; and to prove my own honor.”
The orchestra played something dramatic, and the trumpet had a stirring solo as Jeral finished his speech. He still gripped his sword expertly, keeping his thumb and forefinger a good deal apart on the hilt.

"Oh dear, did i say something wrong?" she asked of Jerel with a malisousesmile incoently. Her horns almost pushing her halo out of the way. The trumpteer suddenly discovered he was playing a duck, who was very annoyed at haveing its arse blown on and turned round and bit him on the nose.
Rosa lent of and kissed Rilon (my my i do seem to be the snogging type dosn't i?) "Be careful my love" slipped her scaf into his doublet and stepped back.

This was not quite going the way the foresightful Lady Diana had planned. The orchestra was waxing quite irritating with its crashing - literally - chords and window-breaking - literally - notes. Windows shattered, thunderclouds rumbled, trumpets screeched...
And a random duck flew over and pecked her on the head.
Rubbing her sore head, she swooned at Jeral's stirring speech and glared at the [s]Dark Lord, Sauron[/s] elfprince, Rilion. She, too, slipped off her sash and tied it to the end of Jeral's [s]imaginary[/s] lance. "May fortune be with you," she breathed, kissing him on the cheek.
Nevertheless, this was outrageous! A duel! A DUEL?! And Lady Diana, fairest of the fairest and the greatest warri -
Ahem. Cough. Cough. Cough. Uh...
And Lady Diana was not participating! She drew her sword from thin air and waved it at Rosa. "You! You shall taste my blade, evil enchantress!"

(( this gets better and better!))
Rilion drew his own sword with a dramatic clang of metal on metal, as the orchestra played a chord - and sprang forward to defend his lady love. In his poor belaguered mind she was the fairest maiden he'd ever laid eyes on, and he couldn't recall a time when he hadn't been infatuated. Of course, everyone else could, and as the duel progressed Rilion found himself wondering faintly why he was doing what he was - obviously Rosa's spell was wearing off a little.

((indeed! I've got to say, this RP is the funnest one I've ever played! ))
Jeral sidestepped a sword jab from that nimble elf-prince. He swung his own blade around, clashing it faintly. He sword fought with an almost careless manner, as all truly handsome men do, wondering what it would be like to have Diana kiss him once the accursed spell was lifted.
He ducked another blow agilely, and noted casually, "Nice party you have going here."
Another parry, as he met the bow with the edge of his blade near the hilt.
"Too bad ye had to fall for a witches enchantments."

"Aye, I suppose it's not bad," consented Rilion, parrying skillfully without even breathing hard. "But you're right, it's too bad that...what?" he blinked, confused, but continued to swordfight as skillfully as ever, "I can't imagine what you mean."

"Neither can I." said Jeral, the corner of his mouth turned up slightly.
"I rather don't like to tell you this your majesty, but..."
he dodged a well aimed strike and muttered, "By jove you know swordplay! Oh right... but what I WAS going to say... I rather hate to inform you that your ladyluv has been bewitching men all night. Almost got me. Through herself in my arms, literally."
He stopped for a moment to catch Rilion's eye, before swiftly aiming a slash at the elf's sleeve, and cutting it open just a tad.
And then a wicked idea entered in his head. Revenge could be had.

The elf looked aggrieved and inspected his sleeve while performing a nifty bit of swordplay that allowed him to whip around in a tight circle and show off his prowess to the very best of his ability - and his muscles, too.
"Have you any idea how much I paid for this shirt?" he demanded, distracted, and blinked suddenly. "Has she really? What a jolly cad...why am I swordfighting you, then?"
((I feel a bit of British accent coming on - by jove, I've been watching Pride and Prejudice!))
