It did not take long for Sahrai to start to get annoyed with the Maedan. They didn't have a stable reason for attacking, and they both seemed and didn't seem to want to negotiate a peace treaty. "Why can't they make up their minds?" Sahrai muttered to himself under his breath. He was about to reply to one of the Maedan delegates when he realized that Viree wasn't visible. He gave a slight Force nudge at the spot where he could sense her presence, in order to get her to turn visible. It was hardly polite to be invisible at a meeting. He replied to the statement, then thought for a moment. Why would the Maedan not be making up their minds? What if they already had them made up? The idea that they might be stalling came to mind, but stalling for what? Surely the Maedan wouldn't kill their chief officials in a suicide bombing attack. But then, what else could they be stalling them for, unless they were a distraction. His mind raced furiously. A ploy to get the Jedi out of the way, and several of the chief Taarin. An attack launched could be moderately successful, especially if followed up. "If you'll excuse me for a moment," he said, allowing no room for argument. "I'd like to talk to my colleagues for a moment." He got up and went outside the room, followed by Kyane and Viree. Na'Tatha and a lower ranking Maedan officer came, too. That would need to be remedied. Doing a quick Force scan of any 'bugs' on the Maedan officer, Sahrai shut them down with the Force, then proceeded to narrarate his discoveries to na'Tatha and his team. The Maedan started fidgeting, obviously uncomfortable. Once the others were informed of his conclusions, Sahrai promptly changed the man's memories with the Force. He wouldn't be able to tell anything.

Viree13 could sense Sahrai's thoughts, and hers were alike. When he called for a conference, she followed, but did not rematerialize. Letting her mind touch his through a Force link, she asked him a question. "Would you like me to scope out the territory around here, see if anything seems....amiss?...." A slight smile accompanied her words....

'It would be good, I think,' Sahrai replied, also over a Force link. 'Make sure you disable the heat-sensors, though,' he added. It would not do to call down the entire Maedan army on them because they saw someone wandering around in classified areas.

Viree13 laughed softly. "Just remember, I'm invisible..... No one's gonna see or sense anything..... Mist has no heat...."

(Dude, where'd this 'Valera' business come from? And sorry to disappoint you, but mist actually does have heat. The deal with heat sensors is to bring your temperature down to the temperature of the surroundings.
Apologies btw for absence... was prepping and recovering from a bike race this wknd)
na'Tatha nodded thoughfully. "In that case, we need to be getting back to the conference room. As long as there are negotiations, we should treat them as such." Her hand dropped to the tassen hanging at her waist. "But we will be prepared."[/i]

Aaah! I did say Valera in the RP, didn't I. That's....embarrassing.
Okay, since I need to get off the comp, this is a short post.
Sahrai nodded and led the way back into the room. "I apologize for the interruption," he said. "Please continue." Hopefully they'd find some way of preventing an attack.

(Cool mist, like fog?... Nah... And besides, you can't arrest mist, warm or otherwise... lol)
Viree13 smirks mentally and goes quiet as she slips out of the room and floats down the hall, her temperature that of the room. But she keeps the Force link open, so that, through Sahrai, she can hear what's going on in the conference room.....

The two Taarin associates looked up as na'Tatha came back into the room, walking slowly back to her post, fluttering her fan in a figure eight. Wheh she was sure she had their attention, she altered the pattern - two beats to the left, three to the right. Y'Garam's eyes narrowed slightly, and she knew that he'd gotten the alert message. She resumed her position behind the associates, her fan still in her hand.

(Okay, is Y'Garam on our side or theirs?....)

They were not that much futher into the discussions when Sahrai sensed tremors in the Force, and could feel someone running towards the room. Someone in pain. The door burst open, and a Taarin officer stumbled in, panting and holding his side, his skin a pasty grey pallor. "The Maedan have attacked Duuras, Keiben, and Tuara," he gasped out, sinking to the floor. Sahrai stood up and hurried over to the man, who was obviously taking his last breaths. He felt the officer relax as his heart stopped beating. "He's dead," he said, glancing up. The Maedan representatives appeared highly flustered, but the running footsteps in the hallway, and the sense of Viree drawing closer with a sense of urgency, left no doubt. "I believe the negotiations are closed, then," he said, despite the representatives protests. "Subcommander, Defense Associate Y'Garam, (and whoever the other Taarin official is, I can't remember), I think we should be leaving." Sounds of blaster fire in the corridor outside reinforced his opinion. "I'll take the lead, Kyane can take the rear."

So it was war - but na'Tatha wasn't about to go into it with the Maedan one up. Two steps took her to a position behind the two Maedan officials, with only the officer to worry about. She opened her fan with an emphatic snap, focusing all the attention in the room upon herself.
"Master Faradej, I think these high-ranking Maedan will be accompanying us back to Taara."

Viree entered the room, and Sahrae could sense that she knew. She'd probably had trouble with a guard or something. When na'Tatha uttered the statement of doom for the Maedan, he nodded. It should be so. The Maedan would not be escaping unscathed. "I agree wholeheartedly," he replied, gesturing towards the door.

na'Tatha started herding the Maedan officials forward, then instinctively whirled, closing her tassen in a high block, preventing the Maedan officer's own fan from slicing open her throat. Parrying, na'Tatha slid into a fighting stance, facing off with the man - and ducked as the female Maedan's tassen swept over her head. Stepping to the side, the subcommander grabbed the woman's arm and flipped her over her shoulder, sliding the fan out of her grasp as she let her drop, winded.
na'Tatha now held two of the colorful silken weapons, one in each hand, snapping them open in a fluid defensive posture as the officer came in again. Letting her mind clear, she readied herself to react spontaneously, giving in to her trained, automatic responses.
Grace. Fluidity. You are the tassen, steel wrapped in silk.

Sahrai turned as he sensed the commotion, seeing na'Tatha barely dodge the first Maedan's tassen. As she disarmed the female Officer, he reached out with the Force, slamming the male into the wall. Hard. It would be a while before he woke up. The female Captain struggled a bit, but they got her up with the delegates she had been guarding. Hearing the sound of running feet and blaster fire approaching, Sahrai headed out of the room, followed by the Maedan, each guarded by one of the Taarin representatives, who all seemed to have one of those peculiar tassen. Kyane took up the rear, his lightsaber in his hand, though not ingnited yet. Outside the room, several of the Taarin guards met them, also panting. Apparently the Maedan were trying to seal off the building, too. "Viree, clear us a path, please," Sahrai asked under his breath. He knew she would hear, and with her shapeshifting abilities, she would be able to clear at least most of the opposition from their path.

Sahrai was right, Viree13 heard, and set about doing just that. Instead of heading back to them, she whirled around, coalescing into an amalgamation of creatures, all shifting at once, designed to confuse any opponents. With a grin, Viree13 drew out her twin dark blue lightsabers and turned on the power, all the way up to kill. Laughing softly to herself as a group of Maedan entered the hall, she swept forwards, her bizarre shape slicing through them. Viree13 called out to Sahrai to hurry, she didn't know how many more would be coming, but she would hold them all if she had to.....
