Jessica had woken up from a really bad nightmare. She looked around the room, panting and with wide eyes. She sighed deeply, when she realized that it was only a dream and rested her hand over her chest. It was so strange to not feel a heartbeat. She swallowed hard and ran her fingers through her hair, slowly.

Shannon asked

Lilith didn't answer, she walked over to a large wooden chest. She opened it and motioned for Shannon to come over. Shannon looked inside and her eyes widened and a wry smile crossed her lips.

"I'll take that as a yes then" she said, smiling at Lilith.

"Pick what you need, whatever you can carry." Lilith replied, pointing into the chest.

Shannon looked over, there were swords, axes, daggers, a crossbow but no stakes.
She looked up at Lilith
"You don't happen to have stakes. They're lighter and easier to carry."

A smile almost crossed Liliths lips.
"There are plenty of chairs and tables. Take the legs and sharpen them, crude. But effective."

"So...why are you helping me?" Shannon asked as she broke off a few legs from an old nearby table.

"Because...I want this madness to end. I cannot live like this anymore. I', trapped, like a rat in a cage and I hate my existence" Lilith spoke firmly as she grasped her hands around a light Katana.

"Do you always talk so vaguely?" Shannon asked, rolling her eyes

"We don't have time for niceties, Slayer. We have a job to do" she sniped back.

Shannon stood firm in front of her.
"No way...I want the full story from you. Right now"

"So you were about to show me how to turn to a bat, Malcom.", Eve interuppted and dragged Malcom back into the room.

"Before I show you how to turn into a bat, you must know that you can depend on your instinct & hearing. You see bats are blind and..."
"Spare me the lecture - I know that bats are blind and have this sonic radar, carry on.", she interuppted once more.

Shannon stood in front of Lilith. Determined not to move.
"Get out of my way!" Lilith roared angrily

"Not until you tell me what happened. What is eating away at you that makes you want to kill your own kind?" Shannon persevered, unflinching.

"What happened is none of your business. I told you all you needed to know" Lilith snarled back at her

"I don't think that you did. What happened that drove..Faith to madness? Why would a Vampire take her own life?" Shannon relaxed and spoke softly.

Lilith began to pace the room, clenching and unclenching her fists before stopping and slumping over a hair that hadn't been broken.
"Faith and I were...close. I was tolerated rather than accepted by the others. Her relationship with me caused ruffles, they didn't like it. Night by night she started to change. She began to say strange things.." Lilith paused, closing her eyes in pain.
"They drove her to madness and in that madness she left me to go outside. I should have went with her, but she insisted she would be alright. She never returned" Lilith looked over at Shannon, her eyes filled with torment.

"I vowed that day I would have my revenge on all of them or taking her from me. You are the first Slayer ever to venture here. You have given me the opportunity I was waiting for." Lilith finished, eyeing Shannon carefully.

"So..this is about vengeance?" Shannon asked, raising an eyebrow.

Lilith stood up from the bed and picked up the katana.
"Isn't it always?" she replied putting the blade back into it's scabbard.

"Close your eyes,", Malcom instucted Eve, "And embrace your instinct. You'll know what to do next.".
Eve gradually formed into a bat and hovered over the floor, she collapsed back to the bitter ground and Eve transformed back.
