Turwaithiel moved around in the back, coughing on the heavy scents on her gag rag of blood and horse hair. She looked over at Raelin and sighed, making an "I'm going to kill him" face before trying to find an vine or something to help them.

Night fell, and the wagon rode into a small opening which was easily defendable. They set a watch of soldiers around the cart. tents were set up, and a fire. The mages were in the tents, the Soldiers got the grass as a bed.


After a few hours, there is an almight BANG! Like... magical Lightning, and soon enough, the entire tent is wreathed in flames, and emerges Meneldor, casting spell after spell, consuming Mages and Soldiers alike, He gets hit with lightning, but retaliates tenfold. Soon enough the entire camp is in descimation. Corpses litter the ground like rag-dolls. The Mage walks over to the cart, breathing heavily. He puts out his hand and the door bursts asunder. he enters and unbinds the Elf first. Then the others, and falls to his knees within the cart.

Raelin smiled with satisfaction.. Finally that stupid gag was off.. he looked at his wrists they were scraped raw by the rope. he let out a small sigh.

Turwaithiel smiled at Realin, rubbing her wrist sorely and coughing quietly, but many times in an row before having to turn the corner to gag. Finally, she came back and sighed, wiping her mouth and looking at her bloody wrists.

"Are you?" Knyn replied, his face breaking into a rare smile. He uncorked his water skin and handed it to the Mage. Stiff and sore from being bound all day, he jumped out of the cage and worked his muscles.

Raelin stared at the mage for a while. then he followed Knyn out of the cage. He put his hand out to Turwaithiel to help her out of the cage.

Turwaithiel quickly grabbed him, letting him lean against her for he as still weak. "It's alright." She said, smiling at Raelin. Then she looked at the mage and said, "I'm as good as I'm going to be."

The mage accepted the waterskin gladly. "I need rest. We MUST rest. I cannot go on easily." the mage said, exhausted. "Those Black robes did not expect that," he said with a grin "but they have weakned me somewhat, I'd say."

Knyn shrugged. He'd been cramped in a cage all day, with nothing but rest to keep him occupied. Now, he felt as if he would explode if he didn't do something.

While the others made camp, he disappeared into the surrounding woodland without a word said.

The mage did not bother to make a bed, he found a dark patch of forest, took off his robe, and fell, literally, into unconciousness. His body was burned and scarred very badly. The scars of his enemy would be with him forever.

Raelin wandered for a little bit. he wasn't really tired. But he was hungry. so he tried hunting for animals then eventually hunting for humans.

Turwaithiel ran up to Raelin and asked, "Mind if I join you?"

Raelin glanced at Turwaithiel a little annoyed. but he smiled and said "Why not? do you eat raw meat? or should we get a fire going after we catch something?"

Staring up at the distant mountains before him, Knyn felt a surge of relief. It seemed their captors had been traveling northwest the entire time, bringing them quite close to the valley of Mthorspeir and, ultimately, the Tomb of Kings.

He returned to camp in time to see Turwaithiel and Raelin leaving. "I'll build the fire," he told them.
