Maggot did not say anything except look from Barkis, to Emily, to Victor, and then back to Barkis, and then Emily again. Apparently, he was waiting for someone to say something.

Emily started walking away, but she felt Barkis angrily pull on her arm. This made her thud right into his chest, so she was staring right at him. She glared at him the whole time and tried to get away.

Barkis smirked at her and then moved his mouth to where her ear was. "What is it like having no one love you?" He whispered to her, with a hint of laughter in his voice.

This made Emily's eyes widen and made her back away, sadly. She quickly looked down to the ground and swallowed hard.

Emily felt tears slowly slide down her cheeks, as she listened to Maggot. She shook her head softly. "Don't even talk to him... he's not worth it." She said to him and then walked away.

Barkis laughed a little more and then walked back into the house. He slammed the door closed behind him and then glared. "That was no help..." He hissed to himself and walked toward Scraps.

Emily slowly looked up to Victor sadly and shook her head. "That's not what it's about..." She said and then heard what Maggot said. She looked over her shoulder to Barkis' house and sighed. "When does he leave the house, Maggot?" She asked him softly.

Emily sighed and watched Victor start calling Scraps. She looked down to the ground, still quite sad and just remained silent.
Scraps had heard Victor calling him, so he automatically made his bones disconnect and then once he was out of the bounds, he reconnected himself. He waited for Barkis to open the door.
Barkis walked toward the door that held Scraps inside the room. He was muttering to himself angrily, as he opened the door harshly. That was when Scraps made a run for it. And Barkis wasn't happy.
