John snorted, "Psh, easy. Such a breeze, that exam. You might as well give me the ten quid now." He nodded at Carson and Aubin, acknowledging their presence, something that he didn't do often. When Mary mentioned question 32, he smiled wickedly, knowing full well that was his favourite question.

Carson leaned against the wall and grimaced, "Yeah, the test was less than enjoyable...I do not even think I answered thirty-two. He gave a half-hearted smile, "Oh well, always next time right?" The boys features brightened a bit as he was apparently struck by another inspiration, he fumbled his pen from his pocket, jerked up his sleeve and frantically wrote down notes, humming along to the tune in his mind.

Aubin laughed and returned the hug, "I am fairly sure I beast-moded that question. I studied a crazy amount of time I think I did well. I had a bit of trouble with some of the multiple choice, sometimes I had a bit of trouble choosing 'the best answer'. I hate those, where two are right but one is better. It annoys me to no end, but what can you do?" She rolled her eyes at her brother, "You are so odd. Anyway, I think I may have 'woman problems' for sports today, that test earned me more hammock time." She grinned and adjusted her booksack, "Join me at the pub, Mary? There is supposed to be a great band playing. If we doll ourselves up I bet we can get free drinks."

((sorry about that guys... i've been away helping my brother with preparations for his wedding... back now))

As he walked through the corridors, the Library was both the first and the last place he wanted to be at right about know... all he knew was that he was drawn to going there and he had never backed down from something that had frightened him in the past. He was vaguely aware of the kids he walked past, some he physically bumped out of the way which wasn't particularly difficult given his physique.
He got out of the corridor that led from the Physics labs and aimed to head across a vast hallway which led toward the library when he suddenly stopped. Turning back to face Matt he said...
'I'm not sure what I expect to find in here man. But just be prepared...' he took a moment to think over what he had just said. 'man I sound like a fool, i think i'm losing the plot.'
With that he turned around again and made to head for the library doors...

Kira jostled some of the books up in her arms and repositioned the video camera to make it appear to everyone around her that she did not want to be disturbed. The meeting of Daniel still unnerved her. She had not seen him for over a week and was about ready to throw a nice anniservary party for it. However, it had now seemed like she was going to have to cancel and return any preparations she had made.

In the library, Kira did not exactly know what to do. If was truely going to be honest with herself, she was not prepared to go to the library. It was fact that she had two library books that she had been meaning to return, but, unfortunately, those were still in her dormroom.

"Alright," Kira muttered to herself as her eyes skimmed throughout the vast area of the library, "What to do?"

"Sure thing." Kathryn replied as she flashed him a grin and picked up her bag and books as well. She knew that she had to head off to class, before she received another lecture from her teacher-a lecture that she was in no mood to hear.

Who’s playing?” She asked Aubin before adding “Want to come Jonnie-boy? It’s not as if you’re actually going to go to Sport anyway, and we’ll have to run there anyway to avoid detection.” She grinned before noticing with interest the notes Carson was writing. "Hey Carson....erm, I was wondering if you wanted to collaborate on some pieces?" She asked shyly. "I really like your work and I’d love to sing some of it if you’d let me.”

(please don't anyone be worried by Mary calling them love. Its just part of her venaculer)

Matt followed Jacen as if in a daze. In the crowd he had to make sure to keep an eye on his friend for, he realised at that moment, he did not know the way to the Library. He obviously had better ways to spend his time.

I'm not sure what I expect to find in here man. But just be prepared...' Matt blinked. And blinked again. "Man.. I thought I took the wrong drugs.." he muttered but then nodded at Jacen, pretending to understand him. "Sure mate, go ahead and do what you have to do."

The Library smelled like dust and old books. It reminded Matt of his grandma's house. Bad memories.. she used to take Matt out to go for a round with the cat on a leash, never forgetting to take her umbrella and rain boots, even in summer. "Ye never know when it's goin' to rain boy" she used to croak. God, he was relieved when she'd tripped over that damn cat.

He shook his head and the memories faded. He took his pack of cigarettes and lightened it. After inhaling deeply he turned to Jacen. " Why didn't you tell me" he spoke relieved and he gestured to Kira. "You knew she would be here..I'll help you man, no need to be shy."

He winked at Jacen. "Hey Kira" he called over. "Hi"

He chuckled and glanced at Aubin, "I'll be going too then, I don't want you out by yourself with no one to look out for you," he gave a lop sided grin and ruffled his sister's hair.

The tall girl simply giggled and rolled her eyes, "Oh, I am sure I will be watching after you Captain Lightweight," she said waggling her eyebrows. Her head swiveled back to Mary's direction, "A new punk band by the name of 'Another Big Machine' they are supposed to be pretty good. I am not big on punk as you know, but they put on a crazy live show. You up for a night on the town John?" She asked reiterating Mary's question.

Just became a college freshman; be on sparingly

Jacen noticed Kira at about the same time as Matt did but wasn't as fast off the the blocks as his friend. Jacen raised a hand to protest against Matt's idea but before he knew it, it was too late and he was calling her over.

Jacen growled a little under his breath. Then simply muttered to himself... 'I can't believe this!'

Trying to look un-interested about whether Kira would take up the summons or not, Jacen turned his attention to the real reason he was in the library... to try and find the book that seemed to be seared into his mind, there everytime he closed his eyes.

It was only then that he realised what a fruitless task he had set himself...

Aldridge Library was a wonder of art and architecture. spanning over three floors and nearly the length and breath of a football pitch, it was one of the biggest libraries in Britain if not the entire world. Books dating back to the 12th century could be found hidden away in dusty corners of the victorian halls and corridors. Original tapestries and paintings, depicting some of England greatest struggles lined the walls like sentries standing proud to attention. Vaulted alcoves, nearly as large as some libraries themselves, dotted along the outer wall... each with more old relics around an ornate oaken table dimly lit by a single lantern. The smell of age and antiquity hung in the air. Even Jacen was almost overrawed into keeping completely silent when in these walls... which thankfully for him was not very often.

'How on earth am I going to find it?' He thought out loud to himself, heedless to who or what was listening.

"Find what?" Kira finally asked, after a minute or two of processing who in fact was speaking to her.

Taking back, she corrected her speech, "Oh, and hi Matt, but what are you looking for?" She asked while holding her books close to her chest and bringing her hair behind her left ear in order to hear what Jacen would say better.

Matt cast his eyes to the high vaulted ceiling and started lamenting to Kira. "Alas.. I do not know. He seems not his usual self lately. He might want to inspect some flaws in this rare piece of architecture, but then" Matt said shaking weary his head. "He could also have avoided this place of doom and have gone to the nearest church."

He sighed theatrically, inhaled deeply, and his eyes went over all the book shelves. There were so many that Matt felt quite threatened by them. In fact he looked quite uncomfortable.

He then leaned over to Kira and whispered. "Maybe you are able to uncover this.. but my worst fear is.." Matt glanced around as if to make sure he wasn't heard by anyone and continued in an even softer voice. "my worst fear is that he wants to find a book."

Kathryn headed toward her music class, suddenly dreading a period that she had once loved. She had a lovely soprano voice and was considered to be one of Mrs. Alford's best singers, yet the teacher found fault with everything she did. With a sigh she walked into class a few moments before she would have been considered tardy, receiving a disapproving glance from her teacher. Offering her an apologetic smile she took her seat and waited for the class to begin.

[Hope no one minds that I made up a surname for the music teacher-I can always edited it later if someone else has something in mind. Oh and I am not sure if all music students share the same class/teacher or not...]

'A book? What?... Yeah... How did you know?' Jacen turned to Matt after snapping back into the world of the living. It was only then he apparently noticed Kira standing beside them. Her piercing gaze seemed to take him even further off balance.

'It's uh... a Book... a big one... with a thick, cracked red cover. I, uh... I don't think it's ever been read. I don't even know what it's about...'

He stood for a moment looking sideways at his two companions as they seemingly weighed up what he was saying. 'ah well... what's the worse that could happen.' he sighed under his breath before splurting out what came next.
'When I fainted I had a dream, but this wasn't like any dream i've ever had. It felt... real you know? Like I was actually there. Well anyway, in the dream all kinda crazy, horrific s**t went down and it all ended with this book. It was definately in here... at least it looked like Aldridge Library, but it felt completely different. Well now every time i close my eye I can see the book and... other things... like they were burned into the back of my mind.' He paused for a second to look over his shoulder as if fearing something was stalking him. 'Look I don't know what I hope to find but this is driving me insane and I ain't just gonna stand around and do nothing now am I!? You guys don't have to come with me...' His eyes met with Kira's 'You probably both think i've lost the plot completely.'

((thanks guys the wedding is in July so things are starting to get pretty hectic with the planning and organising!))
