Aldenth watched Meleth respond angrily again. It took him some self comtrol to hold back from answering himself, and contented himself with shaking his head instead. It wasn't going well.

"Good, then," finished Meleth when no response was forthcoming for a few moments, and turned back to face the road while spurring her mount forward.

((Thanks I had just finished a chapter of David Copperfield and I was in a bit of a mood. Shall we skip ahead? I believe this little confrontation has just about expired...))

Avalyn's mountain lion form was soon visable over the horizon, She ran up to her companions,

"Enemy scouts! Right around that bent!" She tossed her head toward the bend that she was indicating, then turned back to everyone else, waiting for their response.

Koltok pulled the bow from his back and nocked an arrow. Korinth grabbed his glaive, ready for an attack. "How many?" he asked.

Letting go her horse's reins, Meleth swiftly pulled an arrow out of her quiver and natching it, clamping her knees tight to free both hands. She thanked her lucky star she'd put on a light armored leather jerkin, and turned to await Lana's orders for a slight skirmish.

Avalyn looked up at Koltok, still catching her breath,

"At least 7, I took out one, trying to stay as casual as possible, and I took a different route back to you, a longer one. They could be here any second..."

"Stay silent," said Lana in a firm but quiet voice. "Take cover in the trees and make a perimeter. They'll most likely be on the road though idiots so create the perimeter will be around there. Archers be ready. At my signal, take out as many as possible. The rest will charge in once the archers have made their marks and kill off the rest of them. None may survive. We cannot afford our presence being known. Now hurry" And with that she dismounted. She lead the her horse a fair distance away. She did not wait to see what the others would do. She unsheathed her sword and crouched low in the bushes near the road, her green tunic blending in with the vegetation.

Meleth dismounted and whispered to her horse, who stamped a forefoot and trotted off into the opposite edge of trees. The elf herself melted into the foliage like a ghost, and no sound was made.

She positioned herself directly east of the band of scouts, and crouched in the fork of a tree with an arrow at the ready, awaiting Lana's signal.

Rieltar hid as ordered and stayed as close as he could to the edge of the vegetation, he wanted to be close as possible when they came and he could perhaps even imprison one of them just in case.

Avalyn nimbly climbed up to a ledge, above the path that they would cross. Crouching low, she perked her ears forward, listening, not making a sound as her tail twitched in aticipation...

Around the bend in the road, marching soldiers could clearly be heard. Lana waited, becoming patient for once. As the first few crossed in front of her, the red uniforms of Galias's soldiers could clearly be seen. She waited till they were more centered among her ambush. "FIRE!" she roared.

Avalyn did not attack, as it would be plain idiotic to get caught in a crossfire, so she stood her ground, but stood and gave a loud moutain lion roar, hoping to confuse their red-clad opponents.

Koltok fired an arrow. He pulled another from his quiver. They were sturdy arrows, very thick and long. Korinth stood on a branch about ten feet from the ground. He was hidden by the foliage. WHen the time was right, hhe would pounce down onto the attackers.

Aldenth had led his horse into the wood, out of the way, before returning to the roadside. At Lana's command he leased one of his arrows at one of the red uniforms. Not stopping to see if his shot found its mark he dropped his bow, and drew his sword, waiting for those that remained to attack.

Aldaar followed the orders of Lana after letting go his horse after hitting his horse's back firmly and moved behind the trees, crouched low, waited anxiously for his chance to come across with the enemy. But he wanted badly to see the men marching. By the order of Lana, he saw some of them fell on the floor and took cover afterwards.
