Aryann nodded again. He and Tika were alike, maybe not greatly, but they were. "If there were Paleds that you were close to, and you were ordered to kill them, would you?" she asked. It was always good to know if he would be able to kill Paleds he knew. She didn't have to worry about that with Tika.

Patriofelis nodded. "If you ordered me to kill my own family, I would. The Paleds betrayed me when they nearly beat me to death. They don't deserve my mercy." he hissed. "Now" hew said, holding his bound hands out "May I be free of these restraints?" he asked.

Aryann drew her dagger, to some of the tribe it looked as if she were going to steb him. But with one swift stroke, she freed Patriofelis of his bonds. She looked him in the eyes, "If you make one mistake, it may cost you your life," she warningly.

The boy stumbled through the night, tripping twice, during his race to the Nightshade tribe. His breath came in short gasps as he cleared the trees to find himself at the edge of a camp. His heart thundered in his chest as he looked on warrily, hoping what he had been told was right. In that case, he needed to talk to the leader. But, to his supprise, he saw to Paleds in the camp of humans. Now he just stood there, frozen, pointing at them, mouth agape...

Aryann looked up as she sensed a faint presence coming nearer. A minute or two later a boy stumbled into the clearing. She watched his reaction to seeing a Paled- two now- in the Nightstar tribe. She smiled at his surprise. She walked over to him, "May I help you?" she asked. this boy didn't look too dangerous.

The boy's mouth closed, then opened, and closed again as he tried to remember why he'd come here as he listened to the words that seemed to come at him in a blur.
"I'm Tre, or the Stonestar tribe. Lord Xavier sent me to give Lady Aryann a message," he stutered, still suprised at seeing Paled and human together not fighting. Between being tired from running, and being supprised, there didn't seem to be any room for fear...

Alena turned to gaze at the boy who had just stumbled into camp at the mention of Stonestar and Xavier's name. To any observer it would have passed off as natural curiosity, but her brother could sense that this was different. He felt the change in her at the mention of the clan leader's name, and knew at once the feelings she had for this man were running far to deep for his liking. Gareth remained silent, though tense as he waited for either Aryann or the boy to speak again.

"Yes?" Aryann asked, trying very hard not to start laughing. This was nothing like the old Aryann, so much smiling... But in her dreams, her sister... Aryann kept on trying not to crack up laughing, but a smile did break cover for a moment.

Tre stood there, trying to catch his breath again for a moment, eyeing the Paled's warily, wondering if what Xavier's second in comand's words were truth.
"He says t-that if you have a plan to," here he took a gulp," k-kill the P-paleds, he will offer any men or supplies you may n-need. Just as long as it d-doesn't put anyone at risk other than a f-fight. As in, none of his men can be bait," his words were stuttered as he blurted it out all at once, his eyes wide with questions...

"Thank you, Tre. I'm sure you wouldn't mind some rest and food." Aryann said, serious again. A warrior at once hurried off to obey her biding. He came back a few minutes later with food and a bedroll. "You may rest and eat, she said to the boy. "I will tell you when I am ready to respond to Xavier."

Aryann walked over to where Alena, Gareth, Reed, and Tika stood, around where she was going to sleep. "I'm about ready for bed, aren't you?" she asked them with a smile. She was ready for sleep without dreams, or at least without bad ones. Good dreams would be nice...
