Sighing, Raven's response was a brief nod. She had no idea how it had happened, honestly..it had something to do with her running across the wreck of the ship earlier that morning, but she didn't even remember making a choice. On top of that, she'd only heard of the half-breeds' choosing their race once before, and only in passing..which meant she was very confused just then.

Tynel was surprised by Raven's reaction.
"Is something wrong with being an elf? When did you choose anyway?" Tynel tucked his dark hair behind his ears as the wind blew harder, revealing his own pointed ears.

"No, there's nothing wrong with it.." Raven began quietly. "And I don't remember actually choosing..so I don't know.."

"I'm sorry Raven..." Tynel didn't really know what to say, he himself had been an elf all his life.
"Well, according to the half-breeds I know that chose to be an elf, it is much better than that of a human, not that humans are bad at all. But you can see for miles, no sickness, and from some of the lesser beings, you get respect. Which does have its ups and downs..." Raven still looked depressed.
"But please lighten up. I hate to see you this way, and you have been this way alot lately."

Raven smiled, a bit bitterly. "I can't help but feel this way..so much has happened, I feel like I'm being dragged along by fate, and it's all just so..overwhelming."

Tynel smiled bitterly.
"Yes, I know how it is, I have been feeling the same way lately. But the way I see it, we all have a hand of cards that we are given, but if we just go along with the game, paying no heed to the resources we are given, then we lose the game." He looked into Raven's eyes with a smirk, "And if you stand firm and smile in the face of danger and fate, it gives you a boost." He leaned closer, as if the whole matter was very secret, "It confuses everyone else."

Raven nodded a little, and somehow, couldn't help but smile. She hadn't actually thought about it that way, before. And somehow, it made more sense to think about it that way.

Tynel smiled as he caught Raven's smile. It was good to see her show at least a little joy.
"Well, we will probably be there in a few hours, but sense we didn't really pick up any cargo from those docks, I think all we have to do is wait."
(( sorry to be pushy, but if at all possible, could you put a little more than 2 lines? it would be v/ much appreciated. ))

(I'm trying.)
"Waiting..that's always the hardest part." Raven said, shaking her head. Many, many times had she had to wait for everything to be prepared to disembark from various ships and to travel into cities or onto island, and the waiting always got to her, no matter what..and this time would probably be no different.
At least you'll be back home soon.. came the unbidden thought, and she angrily shook it off. She had no home..not anymore, and that made it all the more difficult to return to this island, this place she had once called home.

((oh, sorry. ))
Tynel layed across the deck, spreading out his legs and arms, hoping he might tan a bit so that he would fit in a bit more.
"So, what is it like there? at the capital? I have heard it is very beutiful."

(Sorry..I've been working on homework, and it's difficult to get too in-depth with posts..)
A dreamy expression spread over Raven's face, and she smiled, turning and leaning up against the railing. "Oh, it's magnificent..the buildings are all so natural looking, almost as if they were made by some supernatural hand..the trees, the flowers, almost anything you can think of, grows freely throughout the city, and even though it sounds odd, it adds an otherworldly feel.."

((oh, thats ok. sorry I bugged you.))
Tynel's frim grew wider as Raven continued descibing the capital of the exiles.
"That sounds wonderful. I can't wait to touch the grass there..." Tynel's eyes glased over and his face became dreamy. "I wonder if it will feel like home. I wonder if -- no, that won't happen." Tynel came back to reality and sat up, looking through the railing and to the small speck on the horizon.

(It's alright.)
"What won't happen?" Raven asked, snapped out of her own memories of the capitol, as she glanced towards him. Her expression was now one of slight curiousity. Probably none of your business, you know..

"Ah, nothing, I was just wondering if there would be anyone there that could tell me about my parents, or if I have any living relatives...I am sure the Ursurpers wiped my memory at least twice with that nasty powder...anyway, I have no memory of any of my family, just one image, one that was in a dream..."

"You never know..anything's possible." Raven said quietly, turning her head and glancing towards the shining speck that was the capitol. Almost anything is possible, you've learned that much the past few days.. she thought, restraining a sigh. Now, she hoped fate would loosen its grip on her life, since they had almost arrived at the Shining City.
You know that's not the truth..something big is in store with you, and everyone else with you..

Thyiri, having wandered away to find some secluded spot by herself, propped her elbows on the railing and her chin on her hands and sighed, her eyes fixed on the distant speck that was the capital.
She shivered slightly, and uncomfortably pulled on her right sleeve, fingering the tattoo on her wrist as though she could rub away its existence. Keep your shirt on, said her humorous side, and Thyiri smiled at the bad pun, even in her head. "No matter..." she murmured to herself. "It's not as though they'll suspect." And even if they do, I'm on their side anyway... her mind added reassuringly, but she knew deep down that would make no difference. If life with the Exiles was anything like life with the Usurpers, she'd spend the rest of her life in some dungeon, forgotten by everyone who had ever lived, if anyone found out about that tattoo.
