Eariler that morning

The next morning, Carly woke to the twins bouncing on her bed. She groaned as she sat up. "I'm so happy we don't have work today."

Present time

Carly smiled as she grabbed her purse before running out the door and locking it behind her. She walked down the steps and got into the car before driving the family toward the beach.

When she got to the stairwell she started running up the stairs. Once she reached level five she opened the door and walked down the hallway, looking for analysis. She found the door and walked inside. After she got the part, and started making her way back down the stairs the others realized they were there, and triggered an alarm.
"I've got the part, but we've been made." Kali said, over the comm.
"I can see that. I'm going to get the car, meet me in the parking lot." Sark said.
When Kali noticed guards coming up the stairs she kicked the first one's arm and threw him headfirst into the railing on the opposite side. She kept running down the stairs as she heard more guards running down and up towards her. Three guards started to shoot at her, but they missed and she shot all three of them in the head. She then grabbed the railing and lunged downwards, landing on the last flight of stairs. She ran out of the stairwell and out to the parking lot, just as Sark pulled up in the car beside her. She jumped into the car, and put the bag with the Rambaldi part in the backseat as he drove off. Kali’s cell phone then began to ring. She grabbed it and put the phone up to her ear as she said, "Yeah?"

Mia rolled out of bed the following morning and landed on her floor. "Ouch," she said slowly, rubbing her head. "I'll feel that later."
As she was going to get something to eat, she noticed someone humming outside her apartment door. It was a song she didn't know, but that didn't matter. She went over to the door and was careful when opening it. She looked out the door and saw Austin sitting next to it. He was startled and jumped a little and stopped humming.
"Mia," he said. "Hey, you're awake. I just wanted to catch you, before you left."
"Um," she said rubbing her head again. "Why didn't you knock?"
"I did...listen, I need to talk to you."
"About...?" she asked.
Austin pushed her inside the apartment and he came inside as well. He shut the door and held Mia's shoulders. "I know this sounds weird but...I went to your work yesterday. The travel agency. And I asked the guy at the front desk if I could talk to you, but when I told them your name..." He paused. Mia tried to calm herself.
"Why did you want to talk to me then?" Mia asked.
"That's not important right now. I told them I needed to talk to Mia Lane, and they checked on their computers..." Again he paused, and Mia looked at him with concern. "Mia...they said that no one named Mia Lane works at that travel agency."
Mia paused and looked at him in the eye. "Austin...it's fine, really. See, the travel agency has asked me to keep this job under raps so that I can review something important. I really need you to keep this a secret. My jobs been moved to a different location, that's why I'm not working there anymore."
"Why in the world would a travel agency need to keep something secret?" Austin asked.
Mia sighed. "I can't tell you, Austin."
"Alright. Okay, I get it."
"Promise you won't tell anyone?"
"Who do I have to tell?"
Mia smirked. "I guess you have a point."
Austin backed away. "Well, I know you have to go to work, so..."
"No. This is actually my only day off...probably for awhile."
He smiled. "Hey, do you wanna, you know, do something later?"
"Don't know what I'm doing but I'm sure I could make time." Mia smiled. "I'll call you."
"Okay," Austin said as he went out the door.

Later that day Mia decided to get together with Kali, see if she was doing anything, and maybe they could both go somewhere with Ausitn. She picked up her phone and called Kali's cell. It rang a few times before she heard a voice on the other end.
"Yeah?" Kali said.
"Hey Kali, it's Mia," she said.

Sydney woke up and went out for a run. She came back and showered, enjoying the hot water on her back. She got out and was drying her hair with a towel when the phone rang.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Are you free for lunch." Vaughn asked.
She smiled, "Always."
"I'll see you in an hour then." he said and then hung up the phone.
She went into her room and got dressed and finished drying her hair.
When Vaughn arrived they went out to lunch.

"Oh. Hi Mia. What do you need?" Kali asked, pulling off her ski mask as Sark continued driving.

"Just wondering if you wanted to go out tonight. Maybe, to the bar or something?" Mia said into the phone. Then she paused. "Are you alright? You sound out of breath."

"Yeah, sure. I'm up for anything." She said, before she heard Mia say she sounded 'out of breath'.
"I just got done taking a run." She paused.
"Okay, well I'll see you tonight." She said, glancing over at Sark.

"Okay, great. See you then." Mia hung up the phone and put it down on the table. She opened the fridge to let some cool air on her body and then she took a drink. It was stifling in her apartment. She needed to get out.

Kali hung up the phone when Mia said bye, and Sark stopped the car. She was going back to her house from here. Before Kali left, they kissed.

Los Angeles: Kali's House.
Kali changed out of her clothes before she left her house and drove to the bar to meet up with Mia.

"Kali, over here!" Mia said as Kali walked into the bar. She saw the look on Kali's face as Austin came up behind Mia.
"Oh, this is my friend, Austin," she said. "Austin this is Kali, who works at the travel agency with me."

Kali understood Mia's cover when she said travel agency.
"Hey." Kali said, shaking Austin's hand.

"Hi," Austin said. "So you work with Mia? It's a nice building. You like working there?"
Mia was confused as to all the questions he was asking. "Austin, can we forget about work for awhile? I mean this is our day off."
"Right, sorry. Hey," Austin looked at Kali. "Do you play pool?"

Kali noticed something was probably going on with Mia's cover. When Austin asked her if she played pool, she smirked.
"Only if you want to get beat." She said.

Austin looked at Mia, who shook her head, then he went over to the rack and got two pool sticks and gave one to Kali. "I doubt it."

Kali took the cue before going to the pool table.
"Hey, don't say I didn't tell you." She said.
After a while of playing, there were only two balls left for each player, not including the 8 ball. Kali got the last two of her balls into a hole, before she took her shot at the 8 ball. The ball rolled towards the hole, but it stopped at the very edge. Kali rolled her eyes as she looked at Austin.

Mia was quite amused with the game they were playing. She had gotten a beer and was watching them.
Austin hit the two balls that were left, but then there was the 8 ball, and it was at an impossible angle to get. He closed one eye and tried to think of somewhere to shoot it where it might be impossible for Kali to get the 8 ball as well.
