Elizabeth felt her heart give a little twist of pity for Alex. "Well, it appears you do now," she said kindly. "Although I'd better warn you - be careful around Jack. Make sure he actually cares about you and isn't just out for himself like usual."

"Will..." A rush of emotion filled Elizabeth at the name of her beloved husband. "Will is...absolutely wonderful. I've known him since we were both quite young, and we were childhood friends before society forced us apart. My favorite childhood game was pirates, of course, and Will would always happily go along with it. Now I realize he was just glad of the excuse to be close to me, and the feeling was definitely mutual. Ever since I've known him Will has always been one of the most selfless, caring people I've ever met. He'd gladly give his life for me..." And he did, she realized, letting a tear drip down her cheek. "I - I miss him so much," she finished sadly.

Alex put a hand on Elizabeth's back sympathetically. "You had a happy childhood," she said, forcing the memories of her own childhood from her mind. "And you got to spend it with him. Those are the days to remember."

Edward nodded in agreement with James. "And what ideas do you propose?" He asked, waiting to see what the other man would say.

Vari let Carmon walk away this time. There was no point in making her stay and relive all of those memories that had tortured her night and day. She sighed and leaned back against the railing of the ship, looking out over the water. There was no telling how long it would take until they finally reached World's End.

The look on Richard's face was one of pure shock. Did hear just hear Cole right? "What?" He asked, looking the boy up and down. There had to be some sort of mistake, hadn't there? "That's not possible! She... I-who, who did she m-marry?" Richard felt a surge of emotions run through his body; anger, sadness, disapointment... "Cole, who - I need to know."

Joanna didn't move, even as Charlotte spoke to her. "What's going on? Were you two crewmates at some point?" Interest quickly swept over her and now Joanna decided that she wouldn't let the subject go until she got some good answers.
Keyara looked from Charlotte back to Joanna, smirking inwardly. Of course she'd never told her anything about her past, except for the bad childhood she had... all of the other stuff about Beckett and the EITC was accidently on-purpose left out. "No, but we... knew each other, or rather, about each other." She glanced quickly at Lotty, "Isn't that right, Mrs. Applegate?"

James looked over at Edward and Kayala, thinking. Obviously, he was going to be the one here thinking of all the ideas, he sighed. He had no ideas. It had only been a few months since he had begun believing in Davy Jones as more than just a sailors yarn as it was. He furrowed his brow and peered as far as he could out into the ocean. "I'm not sure," he muttered.

Carmon sighed, she glance back to see if Vari was still there. She was. Carmon watched the other woman out of the corner of her eye. She wished there was something she could say or do. She wished there was a way to get to World's End quicker.

Cole felt bad when he saw the look Richard gave him, but the man would've had to find out someday, right? He nodded sadly, although Edward was his friend, he was sorry for Rich. "Edward Blackhaven," he said quietly and looked back down at the sand. "but she really loved him." he looked back at Richard.

Charolotte quietly nodded in agreement with Keyara. "We knew about each other. Once." she said coolly, keeping her eyes on Keyara. "how did you get here? When the pirates overthrew Lord Beckett and the Company did you have to have somewhere to run?" she glared at Keyara. She had had friends in that battle, friends Lord Beckett could've killed, friends the woman in front of her would've killed. A pang of guilt swept over her as she thought about Beckett though. She tried to push it down, but she couldn't.

Edward scrunched his brow, deep in thought. He turned his gaze to the looming sand dunes. They were getting absolutely nowhere, and at this rate they could be stranded in the Locker for all eternity. “I wonder… if there are others like us, trapped here… maybe they would know how to escape this place…”

Vari sat down on the deck, pulling her legs up to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. This was the way most of the days played out - endless sailing, spending the morning on the main deck and at night, below deck. Vari felt her eyes beginning to close and she fell asleep, knowing that no one would mind if she had a quick catnap.

Richard could feel his heart sinking, shattering in a million pieces as he listened to Cole. “Edward…” He knew exactly who Cole was talking about; the two had sailed together on Vari’s ship. He had always respected the younger man, but Richard never thought he could feel the kind of jealousy he was experiencing now towards Edward. “That little backstabber! I always knew he’d do something like that to me! Why, if I ever see his sorry face again, I’ll…” He stopped here, feeling like his heart was about to explode; there was so much emotion surging through him right now…

Joanna’s sea-blue eyes grew as wide as saucers upon hearing Charlotte. “What? Mrs. Applegate, surely you’re mistaken - ”
Keyara interrupted her. “No, Miss Morgan, what Mrs. Applegate says is true.” She looked at Charlotte with a bit of repugnance before replying. “And what concern is it to you? My story is my own, and what you speak of is in the past. I regret nothing.” Her gentle expression had very quickly turned hard and untrusting. Just because she and Charlotte were acquaintances did not mean they were friends - not by a long shot.

Absentmindedly, James looked out at the ocean, bitting his lower lip. He could hear Edward and Keyara's voices, but he tried not to pay much attention. The longer he was here the more hopeless things looked. He sighed and glanced over at Ed after the other man had finished talking. "Kayala," he looked quickly over at her, "has been here for quite a while. And she hasn't found a way out. So does it really matter if there are others here? We can find them and then all be stranded here together." a wry smiled passed over his face and he sadly shook his head.

Joe sprinted up the stairs leading to the upper deck. He blinked as the bright sunlight hit his eyes, but it didn't take long for them to adjust. He looked around the deck for a short time before spotting Vari sitting all alone in one corner of the deck. He and Vari got along ok. And that was about as much as could be said for their relationship. But at this time, it didn't matter. He wanted to talk to someone no matter what the simply conversation might turn into. A grin passed over his face as he strutted over to her and leaned his back against the railing, looking down at her. "what're ya doing?"
(is that all alright?  do you want to have them in a "tolerating" relationship. )

Cole's expression changed from pity to anger. He glared daggers at Rich as he dared to call Edward names and threaten him. "Ed's nothing of the kind! He and Vari were in love. How could you expect either of them help it?" he wanted to say something else but he knew he shouldn't. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down and rationalize. He could understand Richard's anger, but Edward was one of his closest friends and he couldn't just let this almost-stranger insult his friend.

"Of course it is, and I wouldn't want to rob ya of that story. But you don't regret it? That's more then I could say if I was you." Lotty's eyes pierced Keyara's in a hard glare for a moment or two before she turned back to Joanna. "Ms. Morgan is you name then?" she smiled, although it came out a bit forced looking. On one hand hearing Keyara talk like this hurt her, although she wasn't sure why, on the other hand it infuriated Lotty's usually collected and calm nature.

Beckett wished the sun would go away. Did it ever become night here or were the days just ridiculously long? He scowled and glanced at the water a few yards away. Sitting here in this blistering heat was unlike anything he had ever been forced to go through. Even the most brutal days out on sea could not compare. And added on top of all that he had memories, painful memories flooding down on him from all directions. Whenever he closed his eyes he saw her. It seemed inescapable, like this land.
