Emily took in a deep breath and just blocked out Riley and Lannie's conversation, because she didn't want to have any part of it anymore. She just shook her head a bit, picked up her bags and started walking down the street, still on the sidewalk.

Lannie smiled. "So how long have you all been working with Mr. Gates?" she asked, hoping to include Emily. Anything but the horrible silence.

Riley opened his mouth to respond to Lannie's question when he noticed Emily walking away. He glanced over at Lannie with a confused look before quickly jogging up to the other woman. "Hey, what're you doing? We should probably," here he glanced back at Lannie, then quickly around the airport, "stay together."

Emily stared at Riley and shook her head to him. "I'd rather not, Riley..." She said to him softly and then looked ahead, not really even wanting to talk to him, especially at that moment. She felt like she didn't really have a chance with him anymore, because she now knew that Lannie had a crush on him and she was much prettier than Emily was.
She sighed deeply, adjusted her bags on her shoulders, and then started walking ahead again, sadly. "Just call me on my cell..." She called out to Riley in an almost depressed tone and headed for the nearest bar.

Lannie raised an eyebrow, utterly bewildered by the other woman's reaction. She strode over to join Riley. "What's wrong with Emily?" She had a nagging suspicion as to what it could be, but hoped earnestly that she was wrong. Does everyone like Riley? For heaven's sake, I've been here a day! she thought to herself.

Riley looked after Emily, puzzled by her sudden turn in attitude. He glanced over at Lannie as the other woman joined him. He shrugged, "Not really sure." although deep inside he had a few theories of his own. But... why? What had happened so that all of a sudden women were like this around him? It had never been like that before. He watched as Emily walked away. This didn't seem right though. This was a strange city and the rest were expecting them to be together. It would never do to have everyone seperating in their own directions. In all his previous expeditions with Ben, Riley had ever quite run into a problem like this.

Emily took in a deep breath and crossed the street, to get to the bar that was on the other side of the road. She bit her lower lip and slowly walked inside. She looked around the musky place and saw many men and women sitting around drinking and smoking. She sighed deeply and walked over to the counter to order a drink.

Lannie sighed. "I'll go and talk to her." She jogged across the street (which was not easily done in three-inch stilettos) and entered the bar. She spotted Emily at the counter. She made her way through the crowd of people until she reached the bar. She sat down beside Emily.
"Hi," she said sheepishly. "Look, if you think I'm trying to take Riley or something, I'm really not," she said sincerely. "I was just making conversation. Honestly, I'm just here to do a job."

Emily didn't looked up at Lannie when she spoke and sighed deeply. "I don't even know why I like Riley... I have absolutely NO chance with him." She said sadly, shook her head and covered her face with her hands.
She was so used to letting herself down, because she had been let down too many times in the past. She bit her lower lip and closed her eyes.

The ones being driven in the cab soon made it to the car rental place. Ben went inside and filled out the forms for the rental. He soon came out with the keys to a silver 2007 Ford Escape. Ben went up to the others.
"Terri, I know the way to your house. You, Abagail, and Kira can head there in the cab while I go pick up the others, okay?"

Emily bit her lower lip and then nodded a bit in agreement with Lannie. "You're probably right." She said softly to her and took a deep breath. She slowly stood up from her seat and picked up her bags again. "I'll tell him tonight." She said softly and then smiled a little to Lannie.
