John wheeled around at her words. "What?" He asked his brown eyes filled with concern. He called a couple of the stable hands. "Saddle your horses, we've got trouble." He said taking thunder.

The apparent leader of the group sneered at Leon. "So you think getting the girl out is gonna save you?" He walked up to him and leaned close. "Think again boy." He hit Leon hard knocking him out.

Leon stood glaring. The man's breath stank of wisky. Suddenly then man raised his hand and truck him hard and his world went black.

John sighed. He didn't want to take her back there if there was trouble, but ... He didn't have time to argue if Leon was in trouble. "Come on ..." John said swinging up onto Leon's horse.

Leon slowly opened his eyes. His head hurt, but it wasn't like the headaches. He quickly realised that he was tied when he tried to move. "What do you want with me?" He asked letting his head drop and his hair fall to shadow his face.

"Oh you're awake are you... good ... give us the colt Mignight Thunder just sired." The man demanded.

Leon jerked his head up in suprise. "Never!" He spat, his blue eyes filled with hatred. "You will never have that colt!" He said struggling against the rope.

Brie rode hard through the brush following John. when they got into the clearing she couldnt see Leon.
" John he was right- BANG" Brie jumped when she heard the gun shot. "YAH!" she yelled Nanny galloping off in the direction of the sound.
Brie didnt care if anyone was following her she just knew she had to get to Leon.

"Boss ... There are a bunch of people comming with that girl!" One of the other guys said to the one talking to Leon. The guy frowned. "Pull out! " He said, his small group scattering. He pulled out his gun and fired before disapparing into the brush.

Leon gasped and stiffened as the bullet hit. He dropped his head letting his hair fall to cover his face as his vision blured.

Brie jumped on Nanny before she could really stop. once again she ignored the pain in her ankle. she ran to Leon. " LEON!!!....no no no....." she looked at the wound on his chest. "JOHN!!!" she screamed.

Brie stood up to run to John comming up on his horse. Brie slipped and fell on a stick and thats when she heard her ankle fully snap. " ahh!" she screamed. as john came up through the tears she said " john Leon was shot." she wailed.

John swung down from Thunder followed by one of the stable hands. He ran to where Leon was tued up and untied him. The stable hand knelt next to Brie. "Come on ... we have to get you and Leon out of here." He picked Brie up and got back on his horse. John carried Leon over to the hourse and with the help of another of the stble hands got him up onto Thunder's back.

Once back at the ranch he called an ambulance. Within moments an ambulance was rushing both Leon and Brie to the hospital.

Meggie and Jonon met them at the hospital and Meggie walked over to Brie. "Are you alright ... what happened?" She asked.

Jonon stood leaning against the wall. He stayed silent his normally cheerful personality hidden beneath near emotionlessness.

Brie hugged meggie when she got there. " i'm fine...where's Leon?" she asked. " I just need to see if he's ok.." she kept saying.
she caught meggie's worried eye and calmed down. " we went riding and we were in this meadow and these guys came up to us with guns and leon's put me on his horse and he stayed behind and he told me to get John so i did and then we went back and i broke my ankle and Leon was tied up and shot." Tears now streaming down her face Brie shook with sobs. " Meggie...i just need to know he's okay." she said again.

Ana rushed into the room. " Brie!! are you okay? what happend." Brie couldnt say anymore she was sobbing too much. she looked at Meggie and motioned to her mother. " this is meggie..mom." she said calming down a little but not much.

"Hello ..." Meggie said glancing over at Jonon. "Master Leonidas took Miss Brie out ridding earlier and they were attacked. He sent Miss Brie back for help and in the process was shot. She fell and broke her ankle. I'm terribly sorry that this happened ..." Meggie said explaining things to Anna.

Jonon looked over at Brie and walked over placing his hand on her head. That was about all he could do at this point to comfort her. He was scared himself.

Brie closed her eyes and leaned against the pillow on the bed she was laying in.

Anna was in shock at the moment. " it's nice to meet you Meggie..i really hope Leon is okay." she looked at Brie ankle and sighed. she looked up at her daughter's tears and teared up herself. she quickly blinked the tears away. " Brie honey..let me take you home. this will all be over soon."
Brie looked at her mother. " no...i need to know if he's okay.." she said fighting.
Anna sighed. " no Brie we have to go." she said firmly.
Brie sat up. Silent tears still slipping down her red cheeks she got in a wheel chair.
Anna gave Meggie their house number. " please call us and let us know how he is." Anna hugged Meggie and then Wheeled Brie out to the car.

Meggie nodded taking the paper and watching them leave. She turned putting an arm around Jonon as the doctor approached. "How is he?" She asked.

The doctor smiled. "He's resting right now, the wounds were not serious, and you can take him home once he wakes up." He said as he lead them back to the room where Leon lay.

Leon awakened in a room and tried to sit up. His shoulder hurt as did his head. He reached up and touched a bandage on his forehead. He looked over to to see Meggie sittin in a chair next to him. Jonon was curled up next to him on the bed his head resting on Leon's hand. Leon moved his hand and placed it on top of Jonon's head, then looked back over at Meggie. "I want to go home." He said softly.

Jonon smiled once again happy and cheerful, but he stayed still not wating to disturb Leon.

the next day was sunday. Brie woke up in her bed. she almost didnt remember what happend the day before until she felt the agonizing pain shooting up her leg. she winced.
Brie got out of bed. " mom?"
she said from the top of the stairs.
Anna came around the corner. " good morning Brie. you hungry i made eggs.
Brie sighed and carefully walked down the stairs. she sat at the kitchen table. " mom can i have some pain meds my ankle is killing me." she said ajusting her leg under the table.

Sara had spent the night at April's house. she gave her all the details of her and Justen and everything they did. " so how did it go with you and your hottie?"
April grinned. " i had him pretty good. i think i'll keep this one around for a bit." she laughed.

Leon awakened early and looked around. He winced slightly as he got up pulling on a robe before going down to the library.

Meggie was a little suprised to see Leon up and reading. She haddn't called Brie yet and knew she probably should.

Anna handed Brie a plate of eggs with some orange juice and pain meds.
Brie took them and looked back over at her mom. " meggie call yet?"
Anna didnt want to see Brie's disapointed face. " no.. not yet."
Brie frowned.
Anna finally looked up at her daughter. " honey i'm sorry..i'm sure she'll call soon.

Tamera picked up the phone and dialed Brie's number. The phone rang.

Meggie walked into the library and smiled. "Good morning Master Leonidas. How are you feeling?"

Leon looked up from his book and smeiled. "Good morning Meggie, I'm alright, would you have Jonon make some tea please?" He asked

Meggie nodded thankful that he did indeed seem to be alright. She would change the bandages later and check the stitches.
