Knyn put his back up to Raelin's. He slashed Mortality downward, dispatching three more shadow imps. Icy coldness traveled down his blade to the bodies of his enemies, congealing their blood.

Meanwhile, in the air above Turwaithiel and Meneldor, an insubstantial blackness glided. A cacophony of maniacal laughter echoed from it. Its dark amorphous form took on wings as it herded Turwaithiel and the mage into the mountains.

Raelin kept fighting with rage. He finally got to let out some of his bottled up anger out. It felt wonderful to spill the blood of the shadow imps. He was enjoying every minute of this.

[Turwaithiel: the shadow thing? you know how the mountains are haunted... it's trying to herd you towards them so you can fall into some kind of trap... that was my basic idea. but you have to go towards the mountains anyway because the Tomb's in there

Finally the last of the shadow imps scattered. Knyn sheathed his sword, swung himself back on his horse, and gestured for Raelin to do the same. They had to catch back up with Turwaithiel and Meneldor.

He urged his stallion into a gallop. Meanwhile, chill wind from the mountains howled...

Appearance: He managed to retain his pointed ears and long black hair when he was bitten but he has pale skin. Wears green colored clothing
History: He was born into a family of thiefs and assassins. At the age of five he was taught the arts of the assassins. When he was twenty, he helped the elves battle against the Death Lord by assassinating key officials and generals. Unfortuntely, he was bitten by a vampiric warlord, who was working for the Death Lord, before he died. The elves attempted to heal him but the disease was never fully eradicated. Though he could eat like a normal elf, he became pale, acquired elongated canines, and gained a senstivitity to light. He wasn't shunned by the elves but he didn't feel like he belonged with them. When the rumors of the Death Lord's reappearance came, he was among those that volunteered to investigate.

Turwaithiel felt an eerie presence near her and the mage. She looked around worriedly, but she saw nothing.

Cadenius completated on his situation. Ever since he volutneered on the mission, his travels never gave him a chance to reflect his thoughts. But now he did, he regretted. He didn't even know who he was. He knew it was part vampire, part elf. He was steadily becoming more vampire though. He could feel wing bones assembling on his back. Currently some of his bones were protuding painfully from the skin. He was getting more agile and swift and his senses were much keener than a normal elf. He then heard horse steps, followed by their labored breathing. Not wishing to be found, he darted up towards the trees and waited for the horses to pass. On the horses was an elf and a man. He waited until they passed then dropped down on the ground with a quiet thump.

Sighting Turwaithiel and the mage ahead, Knyn kicked his horse into a gallop just as a figure dropped down from a tree. At first glance, the stranger was nothing more exciting than an unusually pale elf. Still, Knyn was wary as he drew level with the stranger.

"Who are you?"

Cadenius replied, "That even I don't know. But I shall tell you my name if you give me yours." He placed a hand casually behind his back, grabbing the hilt of one of his swords. He waited and then said, "Since I believe neither of us are going anywhere with this, my name is Cadenius. I heard rumors of the Death Lord's return and came to see if they were true.

Turwaithiel heard something behind her and she slipped off her horse, pulling out her sword and walking up behind the "shadow" and said, "Drop your weapons, sir, or you'll head will fall!"

Raelin followed knyn slowly. This was not a normal elf man. He sensed something familiar, something. Then suddenly he had it.. "Vampire" he whispered to himself....

Cadenius heard someone call him "Vampire" and chuckled despite the fact that three strangers could kill him in an instant. "No, I'm not a vampire, nor am I an elf," he replied. "I'm half and half but stronger than both. Well supposed to be. It takes a while to reach that level." He turned to the elf who was threatening him. "I would point that sword somewhere else, if I were you." he commented. "You have no idea who am I or what I can do.." At that, he unsheathed both of his swords.
