"Yes....hopefully not soon because then you'd die like she did.....but later in the future," she said with a quirky smile. "At least that's what mommy told me." Her brown eyes looked toward her mother with confidence. "And when you see her again, you'll be in heaven with angels."

Katherine slowly looked to Edward and Lucy, with tears pouring down her face. She covered her eyes with her hands and sat down next to the tombstone, so she could cry more. She did agree with Lucy on the whole thing, but she was just too sad to say anything about it.

The big black tender eyes stared at Lucy's, showing just the slightest twinkle of what was left of hope in his fragile soul, "Can I go to heaven now?"

When Lucy saw her mother cry, it made her even more. "Mommy...don't cry..." she sniffed. Her heart fell and all happiness faded away once again in her small soul.
Looking up to Edward, she said, "No, Edward. You can't see her unless you die too. But I don't want to you go now!" She ran up to him and hugged him tightly.
Edward seemed to be the only thing left of grandma Kim, in her opinion, and she would do whatever needed to be done in order to keep that memory alive.

Katherine watched Edward and Lucy, while trying to quiet down her crying. She wiped most of her tears away and then looked down to the ground. She hated seeing the two of them like this. It was heartbreaking.

(All right, skipping a scene, once again to skip a scene I unfortunately might have to post for some of your characters.)
Reds, purples, greens, and a whole family of other colors glowed in their small egg-shaped bulbs, while covering the sides of the neighborhood roofs like bright gumdrops on the starchy icing of a gingerbread house.
Suburbia was at its prime in December, while the rest of the year glided monotonously along—like a little kid whistling a song again and again until you wonder how he himself can stand it; but never in the month of December. December was the special month.
The warm, gooey smells of hot chocolate lingered in the icy air. Christmas trees stank of sweet pine needles, red ribbons and plastic candy canes hung entwined together on door after door. Stores were packed with parents dashing here and there for gifts, cards, and wrapping paper. Metal shopping carts clicked and clanked down toy aisles, while counter cashiers worked their fingers to the bone to serve the long lines of people. Lights blinked cold blues, cinnamon reds, and mint greens. Counterfeit Santa Clauses "ho, ho, ho!"-ed while ringing bells and gathering their donation money.
But the snow was the best thing about Christmas.
Snow didn't have bright lights, presents, or even candy. It was quiet, lovely… slowly falling downward from the heavy steely gray clouds at its own good pace. And not one thing caused more happiness or excitement, for that matter. Imagine waking up after a pleasant night’s sleep to see your very own front lawn caked in fresh snow! Imagine all the lovely snowflakes twirling and whirling past your little window!
But, no snow fell this December...
The family all were set in the warm, red and green decorated holiday room. Each family member were gathered around the green Christmas tree, hanging up shiney, bright and happy ornaments. Yes, all were there, Dustin, Lucy, Katherine and even her husband Timothy, giggling and laughing together as the old radio in the kitchen played, Oh Christmas Tree, and the fireplace crackled with the occasional snaps of heat.
Edward Scissorhands although, was sitting on the couch, head drooped down to the tinseled covered floor. His black plastic hair drooped over a part of his face like a thin veil of lace. He looked paler than usual, and his stature had become noticably thinner. He never ate anymore, and even when Katherine tucked him into the bed, the black eyes remained awake.
(Oops, sorry for the long post! Ha ha ha!)

Lucy continued to giggle and hang up the Christmas decorations with a bright smile. She loved this time of year! However, she would miss grandma Kim's homemade cookies. Pushing that out of her mind, she continued to run back and forth hanging up different colored ornaments on the bushy tree.
Her eyes caught site of Edward who was sitting on the couch sadly and she said, "Edward do you want to help us decorate the tree?"

Katherine was putting cookies in the oven, happily. She heard the sound of Lucy still giggling, which made her smile. Even Katherine's husband was home, which made her all the more happy. That never seemed to happen much anymore with his work and whatnot.
