"Always pleased to be of help, Master," Ziatan replied, bowing shortly and again turning to leave. His eyes flashed in determination as he strode quickly out of the living quarters and back through the Temple's many corridors. For the time being, neither of the other two Jedi seemed to have truly grasped what they had uncovered, but they would nonetheless need to be watched closely. He'd worked too hard to set this plan into motion to let it be foiled by one chance eavesdropper.

K'yahn made his way through the Temple, steadily getting higher until he was on the same level as Naru's quarters. Turning a corner, he had just enough time to see something coming towards him before the floor and ceiling reversed their positions, dumping him unceremoniously on the ground.
"Sorry, Ziatan--I couldn't sense you coming," he said as he climbed to his feet. Hmph, he thought. That figures--he didn't even stop to apologize. Shaking his head, he continued on his way. He was fifty feet down the hall when he wondered just why he hadn't been able to sense Ziatan's approach.
He was masking his presence in the Force! But what does that gain him? he wondered to himself. Hiding your Force presence meant that you could not sense the approach of others, either. There wasn't much point in doing that in the Jedi Temple, at least so far as he could see.
With a shrug of his shoulders, the Padawan continued towards the place where he could sense Naru, and now Master Mek. Maybe the Jedi Master would be able to explain it to him.

Tynira sighed as the door closed behind Ziatan. One should never make assumptions about another's intents - but Naru seemed to be determined to - and she did have what seemed to be a valid reason. But things were not always as they seemed. As she sunk into further contemplation, becoming more submerged in the Force, she realized that she could not feel Ziatan's presence in it. Strange. What possible motive could he have for removing himself from it? She began to probe deeper, but was interrupted by another presence, that of a padawan, approaching. A padawan with questions.
(Sorry for absense fyi I believe Naru left Tynira's room to go to her own quarters to do homework, and we need to move this plot along)

Welcome back, Valera.
----
K'yahn sighed as he felt Naru's presence leave the room ahead. A few moments later, he rounded a turn and was presented with a choice--should he enter the room and talk with Master Mek, or should he track Naru down and find out what was troubling her? Or rather, what had troubled her, because she seemed a lot less fearful now.
Unsure as to whether he was making the right decision or not, he pressed the buzzer on the outside of the door. Some of the Jedi preferred to rap on the door with their knuckles. Others preferred to simply open the door. Since K'yahn didn't enjoy having his knuckles bruised from banging on the sturdy metal, and he tried not to be rude, he rang the buzzer.
---
I g2g now--gonna go play Squash. When I come back I might add more to this post or (if someone else has posted by then) I might just make another post.

(thx)
Enter, seeker, Tynira sent as her buzzer sounded. She looked up as the door slid open to reveal K'yahn Tol'ldar, one of Naru's friends. The candle flames flickered as the corridor air wafted in. "You have questions, do you not?" She extended a dignified arm to indicate the floor that she was kneeling upon. "Come, ask." More gently, she added, "You seem to be taking the the passing of Master Johle with more equinamity than is usual for one of your age. My condolences - and commendations."

"Thank you, Master Mek," K'yahn said. "Master Johle would not like it if all that he has trained me in these last years was forgotten now that he was dead. He stated very often that death is really simply joining the Force, in which case he is not really gone--and if he's watching, I have to be extra careful not to let him down," he added with a grin.
"But anyways, I was originally coming to see Naru, but I bumped into Ziatan in the corridor. I couldn't sense him through the Force, and I can't think of why he would do such a thing inside the Temple. I was kind of hoping that you might be able to give me a reason as to why he would," K'yan finished.
He knew it looked as though he didn't practice sensing things through the Force enough, but he glanced around the room, taking all the little details--the candles on their stands around the room, the pale sleeping mat; the circular, padded meditation chair without a back. All these things he preferred to see with his eyes instead of merely sensing through the Force--he could sense their presence, but the Force could not let him see the colors that they were, or what patterns were embroidered or etched on them.

"There might be many motives for such an action, younger brother, but only one is correct. Take care that you do not ascribe the wrong one to him - I speak as one who has seen the consequences of hasty conclusions." Tynira kept her tone serene. Young ones these days! Always wanting the why and how of things immediately, instead of savoring the beauty of the moment.
"Has the Council spoken to you about a new master? For you cannot be a padawan without a teacher. There are always two." It was rare, she realized, for one to be in K'yahn's position. Usually it was the padawan who perished first.

Naru carefully typed in her essay, stopping occasionally to check her notes. Then she suddenly stopped, having felt a familiar presence: K'yahn. She briefly wondered what he was doing here, and peeked around the corner, seeing him talking to her master, found the answer. He brow knitting slightly, she silently mader her way out into the room. Seeing that they were both silent, she spoke.
"Hello, K'yahn. I am sorry if I was interupting you."

"Hello, Naru," K'yahn said, his face breaking into a big smile at the sight of his friend. He would have gone off to talk with her about what he had felt earlier, but courtesy dictated that he wrap things up with Master Mek, first.
"The Council has indeed spoken to me about a new Master. Right now, as I'm sure you know, there are no Masters on Coruscant without Padawans, so until some return, I am merely working a little bit a day with several different Masters who are gracious enough to give me a little bit of their time." He lodged the counsel that Master Mek had given him about Ziatan away in the back of his mind--if he ever found it really useful, he could just use Force techniques to remember it again.
With a bow to the Jedi Master, K'yahn walked over to Naru.
"You don't feel as frightened now," he commented, wincing slightly. A better way to put her on the defensive he probably couldn't have found if he had actually spent time to think about it. Hopefully she wouldn't get upset about that. "What was it that disturbed you so?" he asked. "I felt it all the way down by the lake."

Naru smiled back at K'yahn, but then frowned at the mention of her fright. Lifting her head slightly, she shook her head.
"No, I'm fine... And as for why I was disturbed... I'd rather speak of it later." She said, hoping he would understand.

((Aye, that's what I'm wondering as well. Are we accomplishing anything specific at the moment, or just general conversation?))
