Marie blinked as her eyes adjusted.
"We're, um, in a building..." she said in reply to the someone who had shouted 'Where are we?'

Lindsay shuddered.
"Allright, well we have to get you out. I'm not sure how I can lift this without it crushing deeper." Lindsay said anxiously. She knew Bryce lost a lot of blood already, and he was losing more as the moments went by.
"But I have to, other wise it'll be bad." Lindsay looked. She saw that an edge of the metal object was touching the ground. "Okay, here's what you have to do. I'm going to lift this and push it off your leg where it'll land on the ground." Lindsay said. "It's going to be really heavy, so I need you to move your leg. You say you don't have any feeling in your leg, so use your arms to lift it out of the way. I understand if it hurts, but if anything should go wrong while I'm lifting it, you need to move out of the way."
Lindsay put her hands on the back of her head. She could ask for help, but they wouldn't know exactly what had to be done.
"Ready?" Lindsay positioned herself. "1, 2 ,3!" Lindsay lifted the object.

Ariel shuddered at the sight of blood, and turned away. This was horrible.

Roy realized that there was something scraping away at the outside of the building. He gulped hard, and tried, tried not to panic. Solution... solution... there must be something he could do instead of sitting and waiting like a lamb to the slaughter.

He grabbed a notebook, and tearing paper out of it, made a makeshift loudspeaker.

"LISTEN!" he yelled into it. "If you can here my voice, and are able to move, start coming towards me!! NOW! If you are not able to move, call for help!!"

He had to get them all together... because alone, none of them would have a chance.

Lindsay heard a voice trying to gather people towards them. Her first priority was getting Bryce out. The metal was hot and heavy in her hands as she lifted.
"Can you get out?" Lindsay said, strained.

Rachel turned her head towards the loud voice. She took a deep breath, then moved away from the wall. She kept both hands in front of her as she walked towards the man, shuffling her feet so she wouldn't trip as easily. Her right leg bumped into something sharp-a table edge, maybe. She grunted and stepped to the side to avoid it.

Hannah was still pressing herself against the wall. She heard the voices around her and tried to get up while leaning against the wall, but she fell on the floor again with exhaustion. She whimpered in panic as she heard the lasers outside and covered her ears. "No", she whispered first, then she got louder her voice in panic. "No, you won't get me! You won't kill me...I don't want to die...I don't want to die..." She broke down again, her head in her hands and started crying silently.

Ariel heard the voice of the desperate girl, and as her eyes had adjusted to the dimness, made her way swiftly over to the wall. She wrapped her arms around Hannah protectively, something she would have never done in real life... strange how desperation changes a person.

“It’s okay...it’s okay...” she whispered to herself just as much as the girl. Hot flashes came across her face, and she muttered angrily, “...no, they won’t get you! Or any of us!”

She slowly began to lead the girl toward the voice they had heard.



Roy was sweating, if only he could get them all together. And then what to do? There must be something... some weapon of defense they could make? If only he knew.

Lindsay got the metal off of Bryce. She tore a piece of her shirt and wrapped it around his wound tightly to stop the bloodflow.
"Allright, I'm going to see what's happening.

There was a sudden jolt to the building. Lindsay lost her balance and fell down. Screams rang out.
"Shh!" Lindsay said. "They're outside," She looked around, her feet frozen to the ground.

Rachel lost her balance too when the building shook. She felt around her wildly, and grabbed onto a table for support.

Marie jumped and tried to breathe quietly.

Zrglst made a slurping noise as he began carving away the last barrier between him and the humans. He was very loud doing so.

Bryce pulled his leg out quickly, and it took every effort not to scream in pain. The gash was dangerously deep, so deep, that you could see the bone poking out. He winced as she wrapped it up. "Thank you." He gasped, still in pain. Then, he looked around for Keira, his sister. Where is she? He was about to ask if anyone had seen her, but then he heard somehing trying to break in....very loudly.

Just became a college freshman; be on sparingly

Lindsay cried fearfully. She tried to hide her sobs. She looked around and tried to find something she could use as a weapon....just in case. She saw panels above her. They were still in tact....
She walked quietly to Roy. "We can climb up there, they won't see us." She thought quickly, scanning the room. A sharp metal rod lay on the floor. She bent down and picked it up. She gripped it in her hand.
"It might be our way out of this." Lindsay looked up again. "I can help lift people. The only danger is the electricity." Lindsay saw shocks burst from broken wires above them. "It'll work. They used to store things up there. It'll hold some of us."

Lindsay looked around. Another bang echoed. "Roy? What do you think?" She said anxiously, fidgeting.

Hannah leaned against the woman who led her. She lost her balance and fell as the building shook. She grew pale and started breathing quick and in panic. "They're coming", she whispered in shock, closing her eyes and covering her ears with her hands. "They're coming...no...no...please...no..."
