((Hmm...I would really, really prefer to fill up the canon roles first. If you can take one or two canon spots, then I suppose so. Pm me a bio, 'kay?))

This offer still stands... they really need to be in here... somehow...

((Apologies, I have been away and/or insanely busy of late and have had little time to deal with RPG stuff. Freya, if you wish, you may have Murtogg and Mulroy start out with Beckett's forces or already pirates. Either way you wish. They're all yours. Tur, yes, I would like it if you took at least Mr. Cotton.))

((Much obliged, Pip. Okay, mates, we're finally starting! *runs about the room with uncontrolable glee*
*ahem* Anyway, just to clarify a bit, all OCs will be starting out on the crew of Ellie's character (Captain Henrik van Mahaur) and then shortly transfering to Will's crew (it'll make more sense as the battle plays out).
Oh, and the first bit of my post takes place roughly a week or two before everything else. It's just necessary background.))
Lord Cutler Beckett wordlessly poured hot wax onto the folded sheet of parchment and marked it with his signet ring. "Be certain that you do not lose this," he stressed once more, passing the sealed letter across his desk to the waiting marine.
The young man, who was doing a remarkable job of looking at anything but Lord Beckett, hesitantly took the parchment and cleared his throat. "M-might I ask w-what it is...milord?"
Beckett did not look up from his desk, instead beginning to pen a second letter. "While you are on tour, there is a significant chance that you will encounter either the Black Pearl or the Flying Dutchman , as both Captain Turner and Captain Sparrow have been quite diligent in their efforts to bring ruination to the Company," he continued blandly, pointedly disregarding the man's query. "If such a battle should ensue and your opponent is not defeated, you will deliver this letter to the captain of whichever vessle you encounter, preferably Turner. Both captains are known for giving quarter."
"Wh-why...why me...milord, if...I may ask?" the marine asked haltingly.
"Because you have proven yourself to be a craven, senseless, utterly dispensable cur, and I can trust your overwhelming sense of self-preservation to keep you alive long enough to deliver my message," Beckett replied flatly, growing tired of the conversation.
"And...if I should not, m'lord?"
The corner of Beckett's mouth lifted to form a wry smirk. "Then you will find yourself in the presence in Captain Sparrow very shortly anyway, and therefore needn't worry."

"To arms, ye bleedin' addlepates!" Barbossa shouted over the roar of the gunfire and explosions as he strode across the main deck. "Train yer guns aft an' starboard an' give 'em hell!"
Though Captain Turner remained in command at all times (at least in name), Barbossa found that the authority usually shifted toward himself in times of battle. It wasn't that Turner was bad at leading attacks -indeed, he'd proven his sharp mind and military savvy on numerous occasions. Both men were certainly shrewd fighters, but Barbossa's decades of practical, hands-on application left no question as to who was the more qualified. When it came down to raw experience, Barbossa was indisputably in the lead.
"A half-blind lubber could get off a more accurate shot than that! Take out 'er main an' mizzen masts, lads! She's no threat if she's dead in th' water!"
And then there was Turner's infuriating inclination toward abstract, irrelevant concepts such as 'charity' and 'mercy.' It was 'charity' that had gotten them into this mess, and 'mercy' what was keeping them there. They'd been sailing along, minding their own business, when they'd chanced across an ambush-in-progress. A smaller ship bearing a variation of the Jolly Roger had been taking heavy fire from a considerably larger warship bearing the flag of the East India Trading Company. Predicatably, Captain Turner had rushed to the aid of their fellow pirates. The battle had been going well enough, but Turner had a stubborn rule about giving quarter, whereas Barbossa opted for just sinking their opponent and being done with it. Captain, of course, prevailed, but before they'd even properly disabled the first ship, a second had arrived to join the battle, guns protruding from every open space and then some. Now faced with two fully-armed opponents and a severely crippled ally, the battle seemed to be steadily slipping out of control. True, the Pearl was holding up thus far, but there were damages that could not be overlooked, and the crew could only keep going for so long.
Dodging shrapnel and flying debris, Barbossa made his way up to the quarterdeck where Turner kept the helm. "What say ye now, Captain?" he asked, straining to be heard. "To continue this course would be folly. Th' only sensible option is to show no quarter an' send these ships to th' depths! We'll do well to even accomplish that much at this point!"
